Mark Curtis is known for Bad Moms (2016).- The son of an itinerant Methodist minister and his wife, Mark was born on a US Naval Base in Argentia, Newfoundland before his father left the Navy after serving in WWII. From there, Mark's family moved to his father's native Texas, where his father served churches in cities and towns of South Texas and his mother played organ to accompany him. Mark graduated high school in Edinburg of the RGV in 1966 and was accepted to the University of Texas at Austin, where he attended as a freshman and sophomore. He then transferred to Texas State University, San Marcos, where he graduated with a BA in English in 1971. He went on to study for a Master's degree, but later moved to the Bay Area. There, he attended California State University East Bay in another Master's degree program. Mark moved to Los Angeles in 1974 and this time continued his literary pursuits with a screenwriting emphasis. He took classes from UCLA and from private instructors around LA which included Rick Pamplin, North Hollywood Adult School, The Writer's Block in Malibu with Bonnie Sanders and Alan Ross, Sherwood Oaks Experimental College with Gary Shusset (now Sherwood Oaks Film School), and Dave Kline at Script Pipeline. Michael Landon also produced a story idea from Mark ("Enter the Demon") for his series "Highway to Heaven" which was not credited. A winner of several screenplay contest prizes, Mark also writes poetry, one-acts plays, and a novel. Married to his spouse, Nancy Lynn, Mark's immediate family includes son Timothy, his wife Eva, and grandson Julius.
