Marcus Trumpp learned to play the piano at the age of four and wrote his first musical composition when he was only eight years old. In 1993, he graduated from high school in his native Germany and wrote a theater musical, entitled "Metropol", which was performed in Stuttgart (Germany) and received much critical acclaim. His career in composing music for film started in 1994 when he wrote the score for the award-winning German picture "My Grandfather and The Man in the Moon".
In 1998, Marcus attended the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Program at the University of Southern California where he received training by such film music luminaries as Elmer Bernstein, David Raksin, and Leonard Rosenman. Since graduation, he has written, orchestrated and recorded music for film, television, commercials and multimedia in the US, Germany, England and China.
Furthermore, he has written various concert pieces, such as "The Manipulator Suite", a classical piece for large orchestra which premiered in Munich, Germany in 2001.
He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
