John Bernard is known for Inception (2010), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015).- John Ruane is an accomplished actor and writer from Chicago, now living in the Atlanta area. After graduating from Chicago State University as an English major and two-sport athlete (hockey and baseball), John began his career as a feature writer for the Chicago Sun-Times. Following an interview with a Second City actress, she encouraged him to attend the famed theater's workshops to develop his satirical writing for the stage. After two years of training in improvisation, acting and writing, John wrote and performed in four sketch comedy revues with The Chi-Town Players. Several of his comedic roles in those critically-acclaimed shows were highlighted by the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times. A critic from the Chicago Reader called him, "A cross between Jackie Gleason and the Belushi brothers." John then went on to write, direct and produce a full-length rock musical, which received rave reviews from 5 Chicago theater critics. He then wrote and starred in a short film, "Comedy on Rye," for NBC Chicago, and television pilot, "Deckinger's Place," for CBS Chicago. Since then, he has gone on to appear in several films and television shows, including "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago PD." In addition to his acting work, John is an accomplished author of six books including his first two thriller novels in the Dylan Reilly series, "A Dangerous Freedom," and "Russian Assault." On the personal side, John and his wife raised four wonderful children.

John Bernard Gauffin is known for Misfire (1978).- John Bernard is a sensitive soul who is passionate about his craft and loves to create stories with meaning and purpose. Having been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 1 at 19 years old, John had to face his daily suicidal ideation head-on before it consumed him. Hiding behind drugs and alcohol had become his lifestyle, and would sadly remain that way for decades. In February 2013, he made the decision to get clean, and hasn't touched any drug- alcohol included- since then, having celebrated 10 years of recovery in 2023. He is no stranger to the woes of addiction and mental illness. Although he still lives with suicidal ideation every day of his life, writing stories like THE BRIDGE gives him hope by creating an opportunity to move others and encourage a stirring within them. He prays others can receive a blessing from this.
John's idea of true wealth is in spending time with his family, so you'll likely catch him watching a movie or series with his wife or playing phone and tablet apps with his kids. John is a musician with an emphasis on instrumental folk guitar, his inspiration coming mainly from 60s and 70s rock in addition to just about anything 90s. Having studied Classical Piano in college, he is well-versed on the keys, as well as being familiar with the bass- and even the tenor saxophone.
John is a lover of life and a man of integrity. In 2015, John found a relationship with the faith he cherishes and practices today. His participation and dedication to what he has discovered in the book he reads for his faith has propelled him to move through any circumstance in his life with courage and tenacity. Having grown up a staunch atheist, John's world was rocked when he quit smoking cigarettes in 2014 by the use of prayer and nothing else. He angrily prayed to a God he didn't believe in, and was able to peacefully curb the cravings and stop smoking- still a nonsmoker to this day. His eyes opened, and he decided to pursue any validity in this God. It has been quite a journey since.
John went to seminary a few years after quitting smoking, and holds a Certificate of Theology that bodes well alongside his Culinary School Certificate of Completion and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. He is currently studying to take the exam to gain admission into Law School in Los Angeles, where he will take his desire to fight for what's right- and put it into direct use for people who have experienced injustice of any kind. He believes strongly that people such as Martin Luther King, Jr. didn't give his life for people to disregard laws that have been put in place as a result of MLK's efforts. MLK fought for what was right, even and especially when it wasn't popular, and it cost him everything- but we mustn't forget the rights that were established. Proper protocol was utilized and laws were enacted- now it's time to uphold the integrity of those laws.
John hopes to inspire anyone who would receive the soft beauty within his writing, tackling subjects such as mental illness, addiction, trauma, and bullying. He hopes to add something to the world, rather than take away from it. He is grateful for the opportunity to bring his gifts to the world, and hopes to share the beauty within onto the screen. - Actor
