His striking menacing face and important presence as the deadly Hector The Toad in the classic Scarface (1983) was remarkable enough for movie viewers to never forget him and his role as the Colombian drug dealer who brutally murdered Tony Montana's associate in the infamous chainsaw scene from Brian De Palma's film. With De Palma, he also appeared as a porn film director in Body Double (1984) and as Rolando in Carlito's Way (1993), which reunites him with Al Pacino. Throughout his career, Al Israel has played from good guys and bad guys, from detectives to gunmen and mob bosses. Among his credits include Marked for Death (1990), Drop Zone (1994), Dangerous Minds (1995) and appearances in series like Miami Vice and The Shield; and also returned to his most famous role providing voice work for the video game Scarface: The World Is Yours. He died in 2011, at age 75, and despite of a somewhat limited resume to his credit he gave us plenty of his great talents as a character actor.- Israel Ogalbo is known for In Bed (2022), Al Techaki Li (2022) and The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem (2021).

All Hawaii mourned, and more than 10,000 people turned out for a state funeral in honor of Israel Ka'anoi "Brudda Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole. The son of Henry Kalei'aloha Naniwa and Evangeline Leinani Kamakawiwo'ole, Israel was surrounded by music growing up; his uncle was Moe Keale, a very well-known and respected musician, and his parents worked at a Waikiki bar where many of the legends of Hawaiian music performed. Israel started playing music with his older brother Skippy at the age of 11, performing for tourists. One day when Israel was 15, Jerry Koko heard him as he sat playing his ukulele on a picnic table at Makaha Beach. Jerry invited Israel over to his house to play with some friends; there he met Moon Kauakahi and Jerry's brother John. After playing together for a while, the boys decided to form a group, and the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau was born. The group originally consisted of Israel, Skippy, Moon, Mel Amina (Israel's cousin) and Sam Grey. After playing local events and parties for some time, they were invited to perform on a Jerry Lewis telethon. The Makaha Sons of Ni'ihua met with great success and popularity in Hawaii, recording 10 albums over a period of 15 years. In 1993, Israel decided to leave the group and pursue his own paths. He soared as an solo performer, with his album "N Dis Life" spending 39 weeks on Billboard's World Music chart, rising as high as #8. Israel sang from his heart and soul, and his words and his high, clear voice touched the heart and soul of Hawaii. His heart and spirit were far bigger than his enormous, 700-pound frame, and he grew to be greatly loved. After a beautiful state funeral at the capital building (an honor afforded only two other people in Hawaii's history), Israel's body was cremated, and the ashes scattered at Makua Beach on the Waianae coast where he was raised. He is survived by his wife Marlene Ku'upua Ah Lo Kamakawiwo'ole, and their 14-year old daughter, Ceslianne Wehekealake'alekupuna Ah Lo Kamakawiwo'ole.- Israel Rodríguez was born on 20 March 1982 in Madrid, Madrid, Spain. He is an actor, known for Doors Cut Down (2000), Clandestinos (2007) and El despropósito (2004).
- Victor Israel was one of the most prolific and ubiquitous, yet anonymous, often overlooked and hence underrated character actors in Spanish film history. Born on June 13th in 1929 in Barcelona, Cataluna, Spain, Israel attended the Escuela de actores de la Ciudad Condal. He began acting in films in the early 1960s. Short and dumpy, with a plain, round, pudgy face, thinning hair, medium height and build, snaggle teeth, a benign, humble, unassuming demeanor, and wide, moist, dark saucer eyes, Israel frequently portrayed ordinary working class types, timid cowards, men of the cloth, and meek victims. He soon began making frequent appearances in rugged action films and gritty Italian spaghetti Westerns; he has an especially memorable uncredited part as a weary sergeant at a rundown Confederate fort who Lee Van Cleef talks to in Sergio Leone's magnificent The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, ). In the late 1960s and up until the mid-'80s, Israel acted in an enjoyable slew of spooky horror features and entertainingly trashy exploitation fare. Among his more notable roles are a creepy handyman in The House That Screamed (1969) (The House That Screamed); a slimy, greedy, unctuous cemetery caretaker in The Butcher of Binbrook (1971) (Graveyard of Horror); a craven coachman in Murders in the Rue Morgue (1971); a whistling train baggage handler in the fantastic Horror Express (1972); a near deaf, vaguely menacing innkeeper in The Witches Mountain (1973) (The Witches' Mountain); a despicable and untrustworthy sniveling wimp nightclub owner in the splendidly sleazy The Mean Machine (1973) (The Mean Machine); a scruffy, spineless mountain trail guide in the outrageous Night of the Howling Beast (1975) (Night of the Howling Beast); a zombie priest in Hell of the Living Dead (1980) (Hell of the Living Dead); and a boozy dock night watchman in the laughably lousy The Sea Serpent (1985) (The Sea Serpent). Israel continued to act in both movies and TV shows alike well into his 70s. He died at age 80 from natural causes on September 19, 2009 in Spain.

London-born, LA-based, prolific indie producer Stephen Israel may still be known best for "Swimming With Sharks" - one of the most damning commentaries on the "me too" workplace, which (ironically) launched the film career of Kevin Spacey. Sharks has subsequently been produced for the London stage starring Christian Slater, before going on to Mexico City, Paris, and Tokyo among others, and was recently revived as a limited series, starring Dianne Kruger, Kiernan Shipka and Donald Sutherland, which premiered on Roku.
Stephen's numerous other credits include some of the best-loved gay films - such as 2007's "Boy Culture", "GBF" (2014) and 2016 Outfest audience award winner - "Miles", starring Independent Spirit Award-winner (and Superstar!) Molly Shannon - and two-time Independent Spirit award nominee "Swan Song" (2021) featuring a career-defining performance by the legendary Udo Kier. "Studio One Forever" - about the legendary LA gay disco that was the prototype for Studio 54 - is currently winning awards at festivals around the world.
Stephen's recent productions - the political thriller "Affairs of State", starring the breakout star, David Corenswet (soon to be Superman), along with Adrian Grenier, Mimi Rogers and Thora Birch, and "Last Moment of Clarity", starring Samara Weaving and Golden Globe-winner Brian Cox - are both distributed by Lionsgate, as is 2021's "The Gateway", starring Shea Whigham, Olivia Munn, Frank Grillo and the legendary Bruce Dern. "Last Night on Earth" - directed by Sundance alum Marcos Efron - will premier in Spring 2024 at the USA FIlm Festival, Dallas and will be theatrically released in May 2024.
As an innovator, Stephen was part of the team that produced "The Spot" - the world's first episodic series on the internet, in 1995. A little ahead of its time, he was the first to identify the concept of a network of episodic shows delivered via the web - which ultimately became 1995 tech startup American Cybercast, at which he served as SVP Development & Acquisitions.
With broad corporate experience at Warner Bros., Turner Broadcasting, and top management consulting firm Booz.Allen & Hamilton, Stephen adds seasoned management & financial expertise to hands-on production in film.
Stephen is also a trained rocket scientist and a Royal Air Force marksman (seriously).- Director

At the young age of five, writer/director Israel Luna was exposed to film for the first time. The movie The Exorcist had such an impact on the impressionable youngster that it was then he announced that his goal and dream in life would be to make films. While an announcement like that was a little unusual coming from a five year old, it was even more so considering the modest life he and his family experienced in the small town of Wellington, Texas.
Years later, Luna took the brave step of leaving his small town and moving to the big city of Dallas. It was there that he became involved with the local community access cable channel where he took classes and eventually developed his first project. The locally produced soap opera, Boobs, Boys and High Heels, aired two episodes and was very well received. Luna recognized that this was his stepping-stone to help him develop and prepare for what would eventually become his first feature-length film, Str8 Up.
Luna wrote and directed Str8 Up, which was shot in Dallas the first few months of 2001. The project was a noble undertaking for a first-time director with a cast of hundreds and almost 50 locations showcasing Dallas' nightlife. The hands-on experience Luna garnered prepared him once again for the next step.
Before principal photography wrapped on Str8 Up, Luna began writing another script. Based on a real-life experience he recently had had, he was able to write within the genre that originally inspired him - horror. Luna spent the remainder of 2001 developing his production company, La Luna Films, and the script he would eventually call 'Is Anybody There?'. The feature was shot in three weeks in late winter 2002. Is Anybody There? (2002), a La Luna Films production, added another facet to the Indy filmmaker's credentials by bringing production in-house.
Luna decided to broaden the scope of his venture and created La Luna Entertainment. This new structure, developed with his partner, Toni Miller, would allow them to explore new ideas, concepts and projects in various fields of entertainment. In addition to producing under La Luna Films, La Luna Entertainment would create, develop and produce new concepts for major national/international television and cable networks as well as provide a platform for Luna to explore projects as a book writer.- Actor
