David Leslie Johnson was raised in Mansfield, Ohio. He developed an early interest in storytelling and began writing plays in the second grade. He attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography and Cinema.
Not long after, he found himself back in his hometown working as a production assistant on The Shawshank Redemption, which was filmed on location at the historic Mansfield Reformatory, where Johnson's great-grandfather had been a prison guard. He spent the next five years as assistant to Frank Darabont, the film's Academy Award-nominated director and writer.- Born in Montreal, transplanted to the Maritimes, and now based in Toronto, David began his career with Theatre New Brunswick, where he has continued to perform for over twenty five years. Audiences will remember him as the morally dubious Chuck Tchobanian on the long running CBC series _"Street Legal" (1986)_, for which he received four Gemini Award nominations. He has also performed with the Soulpepper Theatre Company in Toronto, the Stratford Festival Company, and the National Arts Centre Company, and in regional theatres across Canada. Film and television credits include Soul Food (2000) (Showtime), The Safety of Objects (2001) (Killer Films), Mysterious Island (1995) (Global), Thanks of a Grateful Nation (1998), Aldrich Ames: Traitor Within (1998) (Showtime), and _Hidden Dimensions, The (1997)_(IMAX).

David is also a SAG-AFTRA actor and producers consultant on an upcoming motion picture film, Magazine Dreams.
Building bridges that connect people to possibilities, he has collaborated with professional athletes, entertainment executives, celebrities and charitable causes such as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, Options For Life Foundation, while also serving on the board of Variety, the Children's Charity for 8 years. David drives new business development, consultation, client & investor relations, in addition to helping fund raise for early stage startups across entertainment, health care, marketing technology, consumable packaged goods and blockchain.
With a lifelong passion for health, wellness, and meaningful charitable causes, David has donated his time and finances while leading by example. Exhibiting discipline in his daily life with superior focus toward reaching his own personal health goals. His advocation is bodybuilding and in 2016 the National Physique Committee introduced a new division, the Classic Physique Division, which he won to become an IFBB Pro. For becoming the 1st Gold's Gym member to earn an IFBB Pro card and National winner in the new division, Gold's Gym Venice honored him by hanging his picture up with only 125 other Bodybuilding greats over their 60 year history. His first book, "The Lavender Scare," was made into a documentary film of the same name that garnered best documentary awards at over a dozen film festivals and was broadcast nationwide on PBS. His second book, "Buying Gay: How Physique Entrepreneurs Sparked a Movement" chronicles the rise of a gay commercial network in the years leading up to the Stonewall Riots.

Involved in many different projects, Michael was determined to stay true to his ultimate dream, acting. He participated in college theatre plays and classes, earned lead roles in local short and independent films, and a multitude of modeling jobs.
Since graduation, Michael has honed in on his skills to create and produce original social media content while earning his JD in the meantime. After gaining national recognition and support, Michael built a social media fan base surpassing over 10K followers.

At Sunlight, David co-produced the films Londinium starring Colin Firth, Mariel Hemingway, and Mike Binder, and The Search for John Gissing starring Janeane Garofalo, Mike Binder and Alan Rickman.
David then joined Coolfire Studios - quickly cultivating agency relationships to produce award-winning work for brands like Vibram, The Hartford, Walgreens and Bacardi. After two years he was made partner and named President of Coolfire Studios.
