Attila Szalay ASC was born in Budapest, Hungary and immigrated with his parents to Canada in 1968 where he became interested in filmmaking. A progressive high school allowed him to delve into cinematography and he decided to pursue this as a career. He graduated from Sheridan University with an honors degree in film production and cinematography, and began working as a camera assistant on National Film Board documentaries, corporate films and music videos. Between 1990 and 1996, he worked with his mentor Laszlo George, CSC on more than 30 film projects as "A Camera Operator." Szalay became a director of photography in the mid-1990's and has earned CSC nominations for Best Cinematography for the pilot of Peacemakers and two episodes of Smallville. He won the 2009 Leo Award and the 2010 Canadian Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Cinematography for the mini-series "Iron Road". In 2011 he received a Prime Time Emmy nomination for his work on the mini-series "Pillars of the Earth". Attila Gyula Balázs (A.G. Balázs) was born in Portland, Oregon. His father, Otto Balazs, was a first born American citizen, poet, chef and army photographer. His Mother, Cheri (Creedon), an RN originally from Ontario, Canada who provided him with the means to follow his dreams. Attila moved with his mother to Oklahoma when he was 11 years old.

Attila Rostas is a multiple Award winning Hungarian born American Filmmaker, Photographer, Educator with strong emphases on social injustice, human biases and prejudice in his filmmaking body. Attila holds a Master's Degree in Economics and Diplomatic Services from Hungary, and a Master's Degree in International Business from Pace University in New York City.
