- Adarsh Gourav Bhagavatula was born on July 08, 1994 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand (then Bihar). He is an actor, singer and songwriter who works in Hollywood & Bollywood industry. He spent his formative years in Mumbai and graduated from Narsee Monjee with a Bachelor's degree and is also an alumnus of The Drama School in Mumbai.
Classically trained in Hindustani Music for more than 9 years, Gourav has been a frontman for 2 progressive metal bands in school and college namely Steepsky and Oak Island. Oak Island has released an EP titled Aliens Cant Jump that has been featured on the show MTV Indies - Never Hide Sounds. He has also worked with music legends such as Illayaraja and Sukhwinder Singh as a playback singer for 2 Bollywood movies; Black and White & Chal Chalein.
Gourav has been acting since he was in his teenage years and over a decade long acting career so far; has been part of more than 50 TV and Digital Ad campaigns. Amongst the notable brands that he has worked with are Airtel; Cadbury; Dominos; Hotstar and Nescafe. His first role was in Karan Johar's My Name is Khan (2010) starring Shah Rukh Khan and has subsequently acted in Anurag Kashyap's Madly; starred in critically acclaimed Rukh alongside Manoj Bajpayee and played an impactful role in Sridevi's Mom (2017).
He has crossed over into Hollywood with his latest movie project where he plays the titular character; Balram Halwai in the Netflix Global production, The White Tiger (2021) which was released in January 2021. Gourav has also been part of popular web-series such as Laila; Die Trying and Hostel Daze. - Animation Department
Adarsh Gourav passion for animation started long before he earned a bachelor's Degree in Computer Animation followed by a BFA Degree in Film at the Ringling College of Art and Design. A true child of the 80s, he takes inspiration from Disney and Pixar and strives to produce impactful and innovative visual experiences that stay with the audience long after they are over.
In the early 2010s, he worked at The Moving Picture Company (MPC) as Computer Graphics Supervisor and was instrumental in helping to design the visual effects pipeline for the film division, then Framestore enrolled him.
Missing the old America, he came back to California in 2017 to join Disney Animation. In his luggage, he brought back many stories of people with extraordinary powers, legendary heroes & unexplored territories, such as: "The Martian", "King Arthur", "Kingsman: The secret service" or "Miss Peregrine's Home of Peculiar Children". Many stories are yet to be told!
