Son of famed film Dino De Laurentiis and actress Silvana Mangano. Around 19-20, he started his career in the film business as an assistant to the producer in films such as Three Days of the Condor (1975) and Mandingo (1975). He moved on to executive producer of his father's produced epic King Kong (1976), and then produced two movies on his own: King of the Gypsies (1978) and She Dances Alone (1981).
Sadly, he was killed in a tragic plane crash on July 15, 1981 at the age of 26.

Smita Patil, born in Pune, Maharashtra, India, was a highly acclaimed Indian actress known for her exceptional performances in Hindi and Marathi cinema. Regarded as one of the finest actresses in Indian cinema, Smita Patil's career was marked by her ability to portray a wide range of characters with authenticity and depth.
Smita Patil began her acting career in Marathi theater before making her film debut with the Marathi film "Shyamchi Aai" (1974). She gained attention for her breakthrough performance in Shyam Benegal's "Manthan" (1976), which marked the beginning of her collaboration with the renowned filmmaker. Smita Patil went on to work in several of Benegal's films, including "Bhumika" (1977), for which she received the National Film Award for Best Actress.
Her impactful performances in films such as "Aakrosh" (1980), "Chakra" (1981), and "Umbartha" (1982) solidified her position as one of the leading actresses in Indian cinema. Smita Patil was known for choosing roles that challenged societal norms and highlighted social issues. Her ability to infuse realism into her characters and convey emotions with authenticity set her apart.
Smita Patil also made significant contributions to parallel cinema, working with directors like Govind Nihalani ("Ardh Satya," 1983), Shyam Benegal ("Mandi," 1983), and G. Aravindan ("Chidambaram," 1985). Zohar Argov (born Zohar Orqabi) was a popular Mizrahi (Middle Eastern) singer with a distinctive voice.
He was born July 16, 1955 in Rishon LeZion, Israel. he was the eldest of ten children in a Yemenite Jewish Family. He earned the title "HaMelekh" (the King) during a time when mainstream, overseas pop music dominated radio airplay, rather than traditional Oriental style music, as was his style. He is still undisputed "The King" of Mizrahi music. Modern singers continually remake his songs.
Zohar Argov unfortunately allowed heroin addiction to cause problems in his professional and personal life, but is was mostly ignored by those around him because he was still able to amaze crowds with his performances, including live.
He was arrested on alleged rape charges, and committed suicide in his cell by hanging the morning of November 6, 1987.
He was survived by his mother (who died in 1995), ten siblings, and his son Gili Argov, now a singer in Israel.
