LIVINGSTON RIVERS WEBB April 5, 1965 ~ October 25, 2011
Livingston Webb was an artist, poet, writer, musician and independent filmmaker; a gentle giant with a big heart, a keen wit, an unrivaled sense of humor, and an unquenchable interest in the world.
Liv, as his friends and family called him, divided his time between Los Angeles, California where he made his home pursuing his love of the arts; and Washington, DC, where he was raised and his family and many friends remain.
In both cities, he was a great advocate for the artists he encountered: painters, musicians, filmmakers and actors. Above all, he was a wonderful friend due to his unwavering loyalty, generosity, and auspicious counsel. The many who counted Liv as a friend knew that he lit-up a room simply by entering.
Liv was the youngest son of long-time Washington, DC residents, Lt. Col. Charles Webb, Jr. and Lucy Hoffman Webb. He attended Episcopal High School in Virginia, The Mclean School in Maryland, Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts, and The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence.
He is survived by his brother, Charles Hoffman Webb; his sister, Elaine Leta Moseley; four nieces and two nephews, all of whom live in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.
He was a member of the Chevy Chase Club in Bethesda, MD, the City Tavern Club in Washington, DC, an Honorary member of the Sulgrave Club, Washington, DC, and The Philadelphia Racquet Club of Philadelphia, PA.
Livingston was interred at Arlington National Cemetery, Area 1, on April 6 at three o'clock in the afternoon alongside his mother and father at the Old Post Chapel under the shade of a gentle and giant oak tree.- Director
