Composer, director, musician. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (09/03/1987). People's Artist of Russia (1/15/2004). He graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Cultural and Educational School in the specialty "Leader of the Orchestra of Folk Instruments" and the Moscow State Institute of Culture (1978, specialty "Orchestra conducting") and GITIS (1993, specialty "Directing Stage"). Founder and leader of the ensemble of Russian folk wind instruments "Zhaleyka" (1975-1982), "Ensemble of folk music" (1982-2002) and the State Musical Theater of National Art (2002-2014).
