Biography Tina Soliman is a German TV reporter and film director specializing on documentaries investigating social and political issues. Tina studied German philology, Romance studies and political sciences in Frankfurt.
Her work is shown primarily on public German TV - ARD and ZDF. She also writes books. Tina Soliman mastered in 1991 at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität (Frankfurt am Main) in German literature, Romance studies and Political Science. After a traineeship with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, she started working for ARD TV shows as Panorama, Kontraste, Fakt und Report Mainz and began producing TV documentaries for ARD and ZDF. In 1993, she established the "soliman lapp documentation" company, together with camera man Torsten Lapp. In 1996, she was awarded the "Media Award" by Freie Wohlfahrtspflege for her film: "Kinder zweiter Klasse " (second class kids, ARD-Kontraste). For nearly 20 years, she's now working for ZDF's "37 Grad", a prestigious documentary series. Soliman's film "Grausames Glück: Wenn Geburt und Tod aufeinander treffen" was awarded the "Catholic Media Prize" in 2004. In 2009, the Federation for cardiac kids awarded it's first prize for Soliman's ARD documentary "Ein Herz für Lilli". Amnesty International in 2011 selected "Zur Heirat verurteilt" (sentenced to marry) for it's 6th Marl TV Prize. From the jury's statement: "What makes this piece so special is not only how it's reflecting on forced marriage but also the way it shows exit strategies to those concerned and by this is encouraging young people. The documentary was also nominated for CIVIS' "Media Award for integration and diversity in Europe" in the same year. In 2014, Tina Soliman's "SEX - Made in Germany" (ARD documentary, co-director: Sonia Kennebeck, camera: Torsten Lapp) won the silber medal (category: current affairs) at the "New York Festvials". in 2014, "SEX - Made in Germany" was also nominated at the 54th Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo for a "Nymphe d'Or " and for the "Prix Europa" award at Berlin. In 2013, it was nominated for "Juliane-Bartel-Preis" and shown at the Montreal World Film Festival. Tina Soliman published the book "Funkstille - Wenn Menschen den Kontakt abbrechen " (Stonewalling - when people break up contact) in 2011 (editing company: Klett-Cotta). In fall of 2014, her new book "Der Sturm vor der Stille" (The storm before the silence) was published. Soliman lives and works at Hamburg. However TV documentaries for ARD (Die Story im Ersten) and ZDF (37 Grad) continue to be her main field of action. Well received were her recent documentaries "Sterbehilfe. Politiker blockieren, Patienten verzweifeln" (ARD, 2019) and "Für immer jung, Machen Forscher einen Menschheitstraum wahr?" (ARD, 2020).- Director

(1980).- Tatunca Nara is a German, born Hans Günther Hauck, who in the late 1960's appeared in the Brazilian state of Acre, deep in the Amazonas region, claiming he was Chief of the Ugha Mongulala. The self-styled Indian chieftain established himself as a jungle guide and through his storytelling he was mentioned in circles of international adventurers. The German ARD correspondent Karl Brugger published "The Chronicle of Akakor" in 1977, based on Tatunca Nara's tales of El Dorado in the Amazonas. Oceanographer Jacques Cousteau hired Tatunca as a guide when he explored the region with his boat, the Calypso, in 1983. The 2008 adventure film "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is about a sunken city in the Amazon called Akator, and an Indian tribe called the Ugha Mogulala.
