The Fourth Kind (2009)
Idiotic criticisms, this is a good horror film
The Fourth Kind for me was truly a very creepy film. I don't have any idea why so many people hate this movie, seemingly just because it claims to be based on real life events. This kind of marketing is widely used in Hollywood film making. The Blair Witch, of course, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, The Hills Have Eyes I believe used this, or the sequel anyways. This is a common tool for horror films, and in my opinion there's nothing wrong with doing so. The people who complain and hate must just be too ignorant to question it when a horror movie claims to be "based on a true story" or something to that effect, and then when they realize it is fake, they react in anger.
I thought the director did a great job with the use of the "real" footage and interview with the "real" Dr. Tyler. Not related but far better than Paranormal Activity, just saying. This puts a lot of alien- related movies to shame.
And if you're thinking from the trailers/TV spots that it looks like it has a type of Exorcist style, it does indeed have some elements of that.
