Embattled actor Charlie Sheen has launched a new charity venture - the star will donate proceeds from an upcoming stop on his one-man show tour to offset medical costs for a family in need.
Proceeds from the sale of merchandise at his show in San Francisco, California will benefit the family of Bryan Stow, who was left severely brain damaged after two thugs beat him up outside a San Francisco Giants baseball game in Los Angeles on 31 March.
Stow was placed in a medically-induced coma, and baseball fan Sheen has been so moved by the ongoing story of his fight for life, he felt compelled to hand over all the merchandising profits from his San Francisco show on 30 April to the Bryan Stow Fund, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The actor's Violent Torpedo of Truth tour has been raising quite a bit of cash for good causes he supports of late - Sheen cut a cheque to the Organization for Bipolar Disorder Awareness in Canada earlier this month and also helped raise funds for disaster relief in Japan.
