Melanie McFarland has been IMDb’s TV Editor since 2008, and is a board member of the Television Critics Association. She is a frequent guest commentator on NPR and KUOW and is featured as a television expert on She has served as a member of the Peabody Board, the body responsible for selecting winners of the prestigious Peabody awards, from 2005 through 2011. She gained national recognition for her critical insight as the Seattle Post-Intelligencer’s television critic between 2003 and 2008. Before working at the P-I, McFarland wrote about television and popular culture for the Seattle Times and The Oregonian. Her work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune,, Variety and more.
