Actress McElhone's Husband Dies At 42

Actress Natascha McElhone is in mourning following the sudden death of her husband, plastic surgeon Martin Kelly. The 42-year-old was found slumped on the doorstep of the couple's London home on Tuesday night. He is thought to have suffered a heart attack. McElhone, 36, who is pregnant with their third child together, was filming in Los Angeles at the time, and left to return to the U.K. on Wednesday. The tragic news comes just one day after the couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. A representative for The Truman Show star McElhone has stated there would be "no comment at this time." However, McElhone's stepfather, Roy Gleenslade, has paid tribute to Kelly. He says, "He was a truly magnificent man as a surgeon, as a father and as a husband. As well as being a brilliant doctor, he painted, wrote his own music, as well as being a great sportsman. He was a true Renaissance man." British authorities at Scotland Yard are treating the death as unexplained, and a postmortem examination will be carried out later this week. Kelly was one of the U.K.'s top cosmetic surgeons, and had earned himself the title of 'king of rhinoplasty' for his skilful work. The couple has two young children - Theodore, eight, and Otis, five.

Steven Tyler Checks Into Rehab

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has checked himself into rehab for treatment of substance abuse. The 60-year-old rocker has admitted himself to a Pasadena, California clinic for unspecified treatment. The former hell-raiser managed to stay sober for 20 years before re-entering a substance abuse program. He first sought treatment in 1986 after finding himself under pressure from his bandmates to clean up his act. According to website Tmz.com, Tyler will undergo detox at Las Encinas Hospital drug rehabilitation clinic - the same facility where Hollywood Madame Heidi Fleiss, rocker Sebastian Bach and pop star Aaron Carter will be treated as they make a public attempt at sobriety on reality TV program Celebrity Rehab next month. The singer and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry were dubbed the Toxic Twins for their legendary intake of heroin and stimulants before the band's demanding schedule clashed with their major drug abuse, leading to their brief disbanding in the 1980s. It has been a tough month for the rocker, whose daughter Liv Tyler recently went public with her split from rocker husband Royston Langdon. Tyler credited his actress daughter's influence for his first successful attempt at sobriety. Tyler's spokesperson has declined to comment on his current condition.

Alba Planning Second Wedding?

Jessica Alba's brother has hinted the newlywed actress is planning a second wedding ceremony later this year to celebrate her nuptials with family and friends. The pregnant star wed her longtime beau Cash Warren in a low-key ceremony at Beverly Hills Courthouse on Monday - just 40 minutes after applying for a marriage license. The couple were reportedly so desperate to keep the nuptials private, they didn't invite any guests - even their immediate family. Alba's brother Josh was only alerted to the news by America's Us Weekly magazine, and he couldn't believe it. He exclaimed: "My sister!? I'm going to have to call her!" Even the Fantastic Four star's father, Mark Alba, was unaware of the quick ceremony - but he insists he is happy for his newlywed daughter. He tells Latina magazine, "I think it's good news for her. I'm glad for her. She's a beautiful girl. I'm her dad and I'm happy for her no matter what happens." However, Josh later explained to E! News that he was only surprised at the secret wedding because he knows "they are going to do a big ceremony later". He added, "I just don't know any of the details yet." The couple announced their engagement in December, shortly after Alba revealed she was pregnant.

Lee Slams Eastwood For All-White Cast

Spike Lee has launched a bitter attack on fellow filmmaker Clint Eastwood for failing to include black soldiers in his films about the Battle of Iwo Jima. The Do The Right Thing director insists African-American soldiers should have been included in Eastwood's Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima since hundreds took part in the 1945 battle for the Japanese island. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival in France, Lee said, "There were many African-Americans who survived that war and who were upset at Clint for not having one (in the films). That was his version: the negro soldier did not exist. I have a different version." Lee screened the world premiere of an eight-minute trailer for his forthcoming feature film Miracle At St. Anna, a war drama about the all-black 92nd Buffalo Division, which fought against the Germans in World War II.

Johansson Album Bombs With Critics

Actress-turned-singer Scarlett Johansson's debut album has received a series of scathing reviews from music critics, who have branded the star's recordings "fussy and forgettable." The Lost In Translation star released her album Anywhere I Lay My Head, a collection of Tom Waits covers, this week. But several reviews of the 40-minute-long disc have been lukewarm, with commentators reserving their harshest criticism for Johansson's vocal abilities. U.S. magazine Rolling Stone, which gave Johansson a mediocre 2.5 stars out of five, complains, "Johansson's voice is unremarkable and her pitch sometimes unsteady; she's a faintly goth Marilyn Manson lost in a sonic fog." Entertainment Weekly were also less than complimentary, giving the project an average "C" grade and remarking that her "expressionless voice" was concealed "deeply in the druggy ambiance." The album, released on Rhino Records, contains 10 Waits covers with the exception of one original composition co-written by 23-year-old Johansson and TV On The Radio guitarist/keyboardist David Andrew Sitek. Rocker David Bowie contributes backing vocals on two of the tracks.

Dina Lohan: "Lindsay's Problems Aren't My Fault"

Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina Lohan shouldn't be blamed for the actress' personal problems, the 45-year-old showbiz mom insists. The 21-year-old is trying to rebuild her Hollywood career after a disastrous 2007, dominated by two arrests for driving under the influence, rehab time and an 84-minute jail spell. And Dina insists Lindsay must accept full responsibility for her actions. She says, "She's 21 years old. We all make mistakes. It's not a blame game. It's not her mum's fault or her friends' fault It's the general personal choices you make. And you have to be careful about the choices you make when you're in the public eye."

Gyllenhaal Is 'Prince Of Persia'

Jake Gyllenhaal has been signed to star in Disney's Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time - after months of speculation surrounding the movie's male lead. The Brokeback Mountain star has been confirmed to play the title's Prince Daston in moviemaker Jerry Bruckheimer's film adaptation of the hit computer game, according to industry publication Hollywood reporter. Initially, reports suggested British actor Orlando Bloom was to play the lead, with speculation suggesting he was set to received a huge $40 million fee for the role. But the reports were denied by Disney last month. The film will also star Bond Girl Gemma Arterton, and is slated to be directed by Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire filmmaker Mike Newell. Work on the epic movie will start on 1June 19 at U.K. based Pinewood Studios, with location work in Morocco. Sands Of Time will be the first in a trilogy of films based on the games.

Olsen Twins Deny Coffee Scandal

Mary Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen have laughed off rumors a barista at their local coffee shop has been secretly trying to fatten up the stars - by substituting their usual skimmed milk with a full fat version. A worker at the twins' local Starbucks outlet in New York has reportedly confessed to altering the stars' morning drinks because he was concerned about their skinny frames. According to U.S. magazine OK!, the girls regularly ordered fat-free beverages but, "the barista thought the Olsens were too thin, so whenever they ordered their usual drink, he would replace the skim milk with full-fat." But a representative for the actresses has blasted the claims, insisting the story is "ridiculous."

Love Denies Scrapping Album

Courtney Love has hit out at reports she has scrapped all the songs from her forthcoming album and started again - insisting the LP will hit record stores later in the year. The former Hole frontwoman had reportedly dropped all new tracks from her upcoming Nobody's Daughter album, amid speculation she was unhappy with the material which emerged from sessions with songwriter Linda Perry. But the rocker-turned-actress has rubbished the rumors, insisting she only had to retouch a small proportion of the new material after some recordings were leaked on the Internet. She writes on her MySpace blog, "No 'scrapping' is going on, simply a few retakes, especially since all those recordings were leaked to the Net. Don't assume you know any songs on this album. Some may sound somewhat familiar or even have the same titles and arrangements." She adds, "A few are just precious diamonds I wouldn't touch, but there's tons of new ones which you haven't a clue about."

Carey Denies Lavish Wedding Plans

Mariah Carey has denied she and her new husband Nick Cannon are planning a $4 million wedding ceremony in New York this summer. It had been reported the newlyweds, who married in the Bahamas last month, were planning to host an extravagant reception to renew their vows in front of their friends and family. Although Carey hasn't ruled out plans for the ceremony, she insists the reported multi-million dollar price tag is laughable. In a statement to MTV.co.uk she writes, "4 milly? (million) On what? Cake? LOL (laugh out loud)."
