Barrymore In Hit And Run Chase

Actress Drew Barrymore chased a hit and run motorist around Los Angeles after the reckless driver smashed into her car and sped off. The 50 First Dates star was driving in West Hollywood just before 12pm on Monday when she was rear-ended, reports Tmz.com. But instead of pulling over to exchange insurance details, the perpetrator made off - forcing brave Barrymore to take vigilante action. She eventually lost track of the vehicle, but she did at least commit the offending car's license plate number to memory - and pass on the information. Police are reportedly investigating the incident, but no arrests had been made as Wenn goes to press.
Producer Tips Holmes For Broadway Role
Katie Holmes would be perfect for the lead role in a Broadway revival of play All My Sons, according to the show's producer. Holmes is said to be in final negotiations to join John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest on stage, playing Ann Deever in an autumn 2008 New York production of Arthur Miller's post-World War II tale. Representatives for the actress have refused to confirm the reports, but producer Eric Falkenstein is desperate to cast her. He says. "Katie is very well suited for the role of Ann. There is an additional layer of soul to Ann and from the work I've seen of Katie, she has always impressed with multi-faceted characters. She would nail it. Despite being in the spotlight and her celebrity status, the fact remains that she has a tremendous record of performances. I think Katie is a tremendous actor. Whenever she decides to come to the stage she'll be terrific." In January Holmes spoke of her desire to conquer the New York stage, revealing, "There's nothing concrete. I've always had that fantasy when I was growing up, to be on Broadway."
Spears In Yet Another Car Collision
Britney Spears' bad driving has put the troubled pop star back in the headlines after a fender bender on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Spears was behind the wheel when her Mercedes-Benz SL65 rear ended a red sports utility vehicle in Beverly Hills. No injuries were reported and Spears refused to get out of her car, letting her bodyguard talk to the other female motorist and exchange insurance details. The police were not called to the scene of the accident. The prang is the latest in a long line of little accidents for Spears - last year she was charged with a hit-and-run when she scraped another SUV while trying to park her Mercedes in a Van Nuys, California parking lot. And just last month, the pop superstar reportedly caused a three-car pile-up on Los Angeles' Ventura Freeway after accidentally bumping another motorist in heavy traffic.
Stone's Bush Film Hit By Script Leak
Oliver Stone's new movie chronicling President George W. Bush's time in office has been hit by a leaked script - despite movie bosses' best efforts to keep the plot secret. The film, titled W., started filming on May 12 in Louisiana, with a release date scheduled for October - and Stone was determined to keep details of the movie under wraps, with scripts being embargoed and watermarked for extra security. However, newspaper the New York Post has reportedly obtained a copy of the script - publishing excerpts on Tuesday. The film - which stars Josh Brolin, Ioan Gruffudd and Thandie Newton - reportedly pokes fun at the current president, creating scathing caricatures of both George W. Bush and members of his administration. Former president Bill Clinton is also parodied in the film and the publication reports that in one scene he is referred to as a "lard-ass." The leaked script goes on to make fun of Bush's relationship with his parents, his alleged incompetence, his Texan accent and, most controversially, his decision to go to war with Iraq in 2003.
Parker Teams Up With Leibovitz For Photo Shoot
Sarah Jessica Parker has joined forces with controversial photographer Annie Leibovitz for a racy spread in an upcoming issue of Vogue magazine. The 43-year-old actress is snapped alongside her Sex And The City: The Movie onscreen lover Chris Noth, who is shown in one of the images filming Parker with a video camera as she crawls seductively on the floor. Legendary photographer Leibovitz came under fire just last month, when she was blasted by the media and family values groups for her shots of teen star Miley Ray Cyrus posing topless, wrapped in a satin sheet in Vanity Fair. The June issue of the magazine will hit U.S. news stands on Wednesday.
Madonna Skips Malawian Court Date

Pop superstar Madonna is snubbing a court hearing in Malawi on Thursday, where her adoption of two-year-old David Banda is expected to be confirmed. The 49-year-old was scheduled to jet to the African nation to appear in the capital Lilongwe's High Court - but has pulled out just days before, claiming "other engagements" have clashed with the hearing. She had already been granted permission to stay away; when she attempted to have the date moved, the judge informed her the adoption could be finalized in her absence. Madonna's lawyer Alan Chinula says, "We are going to court on Thursday but Madonna will not be there because she is not coming. The judge has indicated that he cannot object to her being absent when making the ruling." Thursday's ruling will end an 20-month long saga, since Madonna took Banda from an orphanage in October 2006, when he was just 13 months old.
Epps In Airport Shouting Match

Actor Mike Epps had to be reprimanded by police after launching into a verbal and homophobic attack on a photographer outside a Los Angeles airport earlier this month. In video footage obtained by Tmz.com, the funnyman can be seen walking with a suitcase outside a departure terminal at Los Angeles International Airport, where he is greeted by paparazzi. The Friday After Next star is then seen aggressively cursing and arguing with an unidentified man holding a professional camera. Epps can be heard shouting, "You're a fag, homosexual!" before a cop steps in to restrain him. It's not the first time Epps has lost his temper in public. Last week, Epps was accused of beating up a man who attempted to serve the star with paternity court papers.
Carey & Cannon Will Wed Again Next Year
Mariah Carey and her new husband Nick Cannon will celebrate their first wedding anniversary by staging a more public ceremony in America. The couple wed in secret at Carey's Bahamas retreat on April 30 and the pop superstar reveals she's already making plans to renew her vows. In her first TV interview since becoming Mrs. Cannon, Carey told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, "We're just going to have another (wedding) next year. His plan is to have one every year." She told DeGeneres in the interview that aired on Tuesday that her Bahamas nuptials were so top secret that the guests were mainly there "to do my hair and help me with the dress." She also revealed that she and Cannon only brought along three friends each because, "We wanted to be on the beach and we didn't want other people taking pictures."
Sinatra Widow Snubbed At Stamp Ceremony
Frank Sinatra's widow Barbara was banned from a ceremony in his honor on Tuesday, reportedly because of a long-running row with the late star's children. A new postage stamp bearing the star's face will be unveiled at three ceremonies; in Las Vegas, New York and his native Hoboken, New Jersey, attended by his son Frank Jr. and daughters Tina and Nancy. But their stepmother, former Las Vegas showgirl Barbara Marx Sinatra, has been refused an invitation to any of the events. Family friend Bob Milang blames tension between Barbara and the children for the missing invitation, and adds that political figure Jose Serrano - who lobbied for the stamp - played a role in uninviting her. Milang tells the New York Post, "I'm upset with (Jose) Serrano because (Barbara) is a woman who was married to Sinatra for 22 years, and here she is being snubbed. I know Serrano is close to Nancy, Tina and Frank Jr. He plays dumb and he doesn't have the courtesy to return a phone call." But Serrano tells the newspaper, "The invites went out from the Postal Service. I'm not doing the inviting. I'm lucky to be invited myself."
Watts Becomes Angel Spokesmodel
Eastern Promises actress Naomi Watts has been unveiled as the new face of designer Thierry Mugler's Angel fragrance. The blonde beauty will grace billboards and TV screens later this year as the spokesmodel of the perfume. Watts was filmed for the TV commercial by director Bill Condon, and was snapped by acclaimed photographer Al Mahdavi for the print ads.
