Cruise: "I Was Wrong About Postpartum Depression"
Tom Cruise has confessed he was "wrong" for attacking pal Brooke Shields and other depressed new mothers who turn to medication to beat postpartum depression. The movie star hit the headlines when he criticized Shields for publicizing anti-depressants in her book Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression in a 2006 TV interview. He has since personally apologized to the actress for his remarks and now admits he regrets the comments he made, insisting he was wrong to suggest postpartum depression could be controlled by taking nothing stronger than vitamins. In an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was taped at his Telluride, Colorado estate for last Friday's Oprah show, the movie star said, "It came out wrong, it's just not true. I was raised by four women who have children and babies. I'm not trying or want to tell anyone how to live their life or what they should believe or shouldn't believe." Cruise went on to say he felt "pressed" by the media during that period of his life - and regrets saying a lot of things on TV. He added, "I felt like I could've handled it better," admitting he regrets discussing Shields at all.
Cyrus Makes Stage Return

Teen sensation Miley Ray Cyrus stepped on to the stage this weekend for the first time since her controversial Vanity Fair portrait was revealed. The Hannah Montana star has kept a low profile since sparking outrage this week for the provocative photo shoot - even pulling out of a public appearance at a Disney Channel Games media party in Orlando, Florida on Friday. But the 15-year-old seemed to be in good spirits as she made her return to the spotlight at a Saturday concert for the Disney Channel. She kicked off her performance with her hit song See You Again and even debuted two new songs, Fly on the Wall and Breakout, off her forthcoming album, expected for release in July. After performing her set, Cyrus told the crowd, "I hope you had an awesome time. I saw a sign back there that said, 'Miley, I'm praying for you.' I could not be more appreciative. Thank you guys for all your support. Without you, none of this would be possible. I love every one of you and I could not be more appreciative. God bless you."
Walters' Affair With Married Senator Almost Ended Her Career

U.S. broadcaster Barbara Walters has confessed to a passionate affair with a married senator during the 1970s - but she ended it after it almost destroyed her career. In her upcoming memoirs, Auditions, Walters admits to an affair with former Massachusetts Senator Edward Brooke following the breakdown of her two previous marriages. Walters claims Brooke, the first black member of the U.S. Senate since Reconstruction, was so in love with her he told his wife he wanted a divorce. But when his wife tried to reveal the affair to the National Enquirer, the couple ended the relationship. She writes, "I slowly began asking myself if we could ever be married. Would such a marriage destroy his career? Would it destroy mine?" The 78-year-old also writes about Star Jones' "lies" and Rosie O'Donnell's "diva-like" antics.
Dourdan "Embarrassed" By Arrest
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gary Dourdan is "embarrassed" by his recent arrest for alleged drug possession. The actor was apprehended by police after he was found asleep in his incorrectly parked car early last Monday morning in Palm Springs, California. Cops searched his vehicle, before arresting him on suspicion of possessing heroin, cocaine, Ecstasy and prescription drugs. Dourdan posted $5,000 bail and was released following the incident. He tells People.com, "Obviously I am embarrassed to find myself in this situation, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their support. I have complete confidence in and respect for the justice system and will cooperate fully with any investigation." On Saturday, an email from Dourdan to his pal Shaun Robinson was read out on her Access Hollywood show. It read, "Obviously I certainly wish I hadn't been responsible for so many people getting to the festival's (California's Coachella festival) Vip area. And the after party, it ran me ragged, but I'm glad pulling over did prevent a Dui. I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative." However a spokesperson for the star insists the exchange was not intended for air: "This was a personal text to a friend taken completely out of context."
Hudson Stalker Arrested

Security around Kate Hudson's latest movie Bride Wars is on high-alert after a man allegedly expressed an "unhealthy interest" in the actress, according to reports. Neil Bergman of Whitefield, New Hampshire, was arraigned last week on burglary charges in Boston Municipal Court, in Massachusetts, and sent away for a 30-day mental evaluation, reports the Boston Herald. Sources claim that after the 44-year-old was apprehended, he ranted to cops about Hudson and her mother, actress Goldie Hawn, causing authorities to warn the actress' security detail about Bergman. Elaine Driscoll, a spokesperson for the Boston Police Department, says, "This suspect made statements to the arresting officers that indicated the individual had an unhealthy interest in Kate Hudson. As a matter of caution, we alerted her security." Police supposedly found two axes, computer equipment, outdoor flower pots, an Elvis plate, a Christmas tree and women's clothing in Bergman's 2000 Honda Civic.
Lohan Set For 'Ugly Betty'
Lindsay Lohan is set to make a guest appearance on hit U.S. TV series Ugly Betty. Rumors surrounding the Just My Luck star's role in the show emerged last week and suggested she had signed up to eight episodes of the program - but Perez Hilton reports the singer/actress will appear in the show's season finale, after she was photographed on the set of Ugly Betty in Los Angeles on Saturday. It follows Britney Spears' well-publicized performance on sitcom How I Met Your Mother last month - her guest appearance helped the show earn its highest ever ratings, and she will make a return to the sitcom later this month.
Accused Stalker Felt Close To Thurman

The man accused of stalking actress Uma Thurman took the stand in New York on Friday, insisting he has felt close to the star for many years. Jack Jordan faces up to a year in jail if he's found guilty of stalking and aggravated harassment charges. In New York's State Supreme Court on the fourth day of the trial, Jordan told jurors he never threatened to harm or harass Thurman, despite sending her disturbing letters and notes and threatening to commit suicide if her parents didn't pass on messages to her. The accused took the stand a day after a trembling Thurman testified, refusing to look at Jordan as she spoke to jurors about the terror she experienced at the hands of her alleged stalker, claiming he harassed her, assistants and her family from 2005 to 2007. In his defense, Jordan's attorney told jurors that his client has been diagnosed as schizophrenic and bipolar, insisting jail would be the wrong place for the accused. The jury is expected to return a verdict on Monday.
James Bond Technician Stabbed

A technician working on the new James Bond movie Quantum Of Solace has been seriously injured - after he was stabbed with a steak knife in a domestic dispute. The 58-year-old was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood on Saturday morning. Police say the man had been attacked by a woman in the bedroom of her house in Dornbirn, Austria, before wrestling the knife from her and staggering into the street, where he was later found. He is currently recovering in hospital. The incident is the latest in a string of setbacks on the set of the film - just last month a stuntman was seriously injured and the superspy's iconic Aston Martin had to be fished from Lake Garda, Italy, after it skidded off a narrow road.
Fox Drives Carefully To Keep Job
Lost star Matthew Fox has a new reason to drive carefully - he could lose his job if caught flouting the highway code. Four characters on the hit show have been axed after a number of the actors portraying them were arrested by Hawaii police for unruly driving. And now Fox, who plays plane crash survivor Jack Shephard, hits the road with caution - for fear of being fired from the program. Fox says, "We've a running joke on the Lost set that anyone arrested for DUI (driving under the influence) gets killed off in the show. So I slow down now." DUI incidents have plagued the Lost cast in Hawaii - cast mates Cynthia Watros and Michelle Rodriguez both pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in January 2006 and April 2007 respectively. British actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was also arrested for driving without a license and disobeying a police officer.
Silverman: "I Won't Marry Kimmel"
Comedienne Sarah Silverman has vowed never to marry her longtime boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel - because their relationship is perfect as it is. The 37-year-old has been romantically involved with Kimmel, host of TV talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, since 2002 - but she insists she has no plans to wed any time soon. She tells People.com, "I'll be honest, we have it good. I don't want the government involved in our love. When my friends get married I think it's romantic, I cry, whatever. But it's not for me." However, Silverman hasn't ruled out having children: "I might adopt, but we're going to wait. If you're going to have kids, you need to have time to give them undivided attention."
