Departing CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gary Dourdan has been arrested in Palm Springs, California on suspicion of possessing heroin, cocaine, Ecstasy and prescription drugs. Local police reportedly found the actor asleep in his incorrectly parked car early on Monday morning and arrested him after a routine search of his vehicle. A "disoriented" Dourdan was taken into custody in Palm Springs, where he posted bail, according to Tmz.com. The actor has reportedly chosen to quit CSI when his current contract expires in May. According to America's TV Guide magazine, Dourdan and producers mutually agreed to part company last month. Insiders suggest Dourdan will exit the show "in a spectacular fashion."

Controversial pictures of teen actress Miley Ray Cyrus caused the website of magazine Vanity Fair to crash - after a surge of Internet users keen to see the shots logged online. Vanity Fair magazine's website logged more than four million hits on Monday and had to temporarily shut down the site to surfers who wanted to see the Hannah Montana star's saucy shots. The 15-year-old posed for the Vanity Fair magazine shoot wearing nothing but a blanket wrapped around her chest. But the pictures - taken by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz - have caused outrage in her native America, released just a week after candid snaps of the singer/actress posing provocatively in lingerie were leaked on the Internet.

Singer/actress Hilary Duff has denied she is in talks to join the cast of a new Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off series. A contemporary series of the hit 1990s TV show has been commissioned by TV network The CW. The original show, which ran for 10 years from 1990 to 2000, starred Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling. Producers were reported to be courting 20-year-old Duff to take on one of the leading roles in the updated version. But Duff insists the reports are pure speculation. She tells Wenn, "No. That's not true at all." Duff shot to fame in hit Disney TV show Lizzie McGuire before launching a successful music and film career.

A 40-year-old sex tape featuring guitar great Jimi Hendrix has been unearthed by a rock memorabilia collector. The unnamed collector has passed the saucy footage, which features a head-banded Hendrix frolicking with two brunettes, to the bosses of porn video giant Vivid Entertainment, who are set to release the film on DVD. Vivid officials went to infamous rock groupie Cynthia Plaster Caster, to make sure that the guy in the sex film was the late rock icon. Cynthia and another famous groupie, Pamela Des Barres provide commentary on the new DVD, Jimi Hendrix: The Sex Tape. Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch is convinced the new film will be a hit: "This new movie shows that Jimi Hendrix could have been as great a porn star as he was a rock star. He could clearly play more than just his guitar."

Clumsy Gwyneth Paltrow has been left with permanent numbness in one of her legs after breaking her knee while making new movie Iron Man. The actress tried to act on through the pain, before discovering the injury needed surgery. She says, "I broke my knee - because I'm a moron and I'm always bashing into things by accident. I've broken my toes 30 times. I don't know what's wrong with me. I bashed my knee, it really hurt." The accident even caused a bust-up with director Jon Favreau, who was convinced she was exaggerating her pain: "I kept exercising and running around in the movie. Then it really started to expand. In one scene I'm running away from Ironmonger - the bad Iron Man - and I said to John, 'My knee is really hurting, I don't know how many times I can do this.' He was rolling his eyes, saying 'you're fine'. But I went to the doctor and I had a fracture so bad they had to do surgery the next day. They put cement in there! So I felt very smug and he apologized. It still doesn't feel right. I had a nerve problem. My legs don't feel the same. Sometimes it happens with surgery. If I get a wax, one leg hurts more than the other."

Uma Thurman cried and shook with terror after Jack Jordan tried to force his way into her movie set trailer, the actress' wardrobe assistant testified on the first day of the alleged stalker's trial on Monday. Joseph La Corte told the jury at New York's Manhattan Supreme Court how two minders had to block Jordan, and how Thurman was left hysterical by the episode in November 2005. He said, "Her hands were shaking, she was soaked (from tears). She couldn't sit still." Thurman's former personal assistant Lisa Grondin also revealed how the trauma caused her to take up smoking again. Jordan is also accused of sending letters and notes to Thurman while she shot My Super Ex-Girlfriend in the city; in one, threatening to kill himself is she didn't date him. Another read, "My hands should be on your body at all times." After pleading not guilty to misdemeanor stalking, aggravated harassment and felony coercion, Jordan's lawyer contended that his letters were not illegal, telling the court, "(Jordan) does not think the way you and I think. He doesn't know the boundaries you and I know. He thinks it's romantic." Thurman is scheduled to testify on Tuesday. The case continues.

Funnyman Will Ferrell has been urged to stop working with animals after his bear co-star in basketball comedy Semi-Pro attacked and killed a trainer in California last week. Activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) originally sent the Elf star a letter in February, after they were alerted to the fact that Ferrell's new film was to feature a grizzly bear. The actor actually appears to wrestle the bear, Rocky, which fatally bit a trainer in Big Bear, California. In the missive, they warned Ferrell of both the dangers of working with wild animals on a film set how many of these film 'stars' are cruelly treated. But the PETA letter, sent to his agents, was ignored. Now Ferrell is the target of a new PETA campaign. A spokesman says, "It's pretty rare that people catch a glimpse of the way the animals they see in TV shows or movies are really treated... They're often beaten to perform. We're hoping that this incident, sad as it is, will encourage Hollywood actors to take a stand against performing with animals, who want to be movie stars about as much as they want to be stuck in a cage for the rest of their lives. We're asking Will Ferrell to pledge never to act with wild animals again." In the new letter that went out to Ferrell a day after the tragedy hit the headlines last Tuesday, PETA writes, "We know you to be a compassionate person, and we are hoping that this deadly incident will make you have a change of heart about acting with animals in the future." PETA regular Pamela Anderson is already a fervent campaigner when it comes to keeping animals out of movies - she recently refused to take part in a dog scene that had to be cut from her last film, Superhero Movie, because she refused to act with a trained Labrador.

Lawyers for two U.S. newspapers and a news agency have filed an emergency motion at Illinois Supreme Court asking for the publication of intimate details of R. Kelly's trial for alleged child pornography offences. The hitmaker is currently awaiting trial on 14 counts of child pornography, with proceedings due to start in May. But now the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times and the Associated Press are asking for the court to release sealed court records and transcripts to the press, filing papers on Monday. If the bid is successful it would see lurid details of the case published across the globe. Judge Vincent Gaughan has insisted he will try to protect Kelly's rights and prevent information from influencing prospective jurors. The 41-year-old star has pleaded not guilty to the charges which see him accused of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl.

My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee is set to become a father again - his girlfriend is pregnant. The actor and Ceren Alkac are expecting a baby at the end of 2008. It will be the first child for the couple, but Lee also has a four-year-old son, Pilot Inspektor, with his ex, actress Beth Riesgraf.
