Britney Unhurt After Car Crash
Britney Spears has added to her legal woes after reportedly causing a three-car pile-up on Los Angeles' Venture Freeway. The pop superstar went for an evening spin in her Mercedes with her bodyguard on Saturday and accidentally bumped another motorist in heavy traffic on her way home, according to reports. The car she rear-ended then hit the vehicle in front. According to the California Highway Patrol the accident happened at 8:19pm while the singer was driving northbound. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued. All three cars were pulled over by police at a nearby gas station, where the authorities tested to see if Spears had been drinking, according to an eyewitness. The bystander, who saw the accident and the commotion that followed, says, "Britney just appeared to lose concentration and drove into the car in front of her." In the past 12 months, the singer has been charged with a hit and run offense and driving without a valid license. She's also battling for custody of her two young sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Lawsuit Accuses Paparazzi Of Luring Ledger To Drug Party

A new lawsuit claims Heath Ledger was set up by two photographers who secretly filmed the late actor taking cocaine in a Los Angeles hotel room. In legal documents filed by an unnamed woman in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, two Splash News paparazzi stand accused of luring Ledger to her room at the Chateau Marmont hotel in January 2006. Eric Munn and Darren Banks allegedly then gave cocaine to the actor while secretly videotaping him. Ledger, who had no idea they were photographers, also had some cocaine of his own, according to the lawsuit. Ledger eventually spotted he was being filmed and allegedly became angry, at which point he was promised the tape would be destroyed. It wasn't, and a segment of it was screened on TV show Entertainment Tonight shortly after his death from an accidental prescription drugs overdose in January. The full tape was never aired after numerous celebrities pressured producers to drop the video. The woman, listed as Jane Doe, refuses to reveal her identity for "fear of consequences and repercussions." The legal papers do, however, state she was working as a freelance reporter for People magazine and that she was "occasionally dating" Dunn at the time. The woman, who People state has not worked for the magazine since last year, claims the videotape makes it appear as if she was taking cocaine. Munn, Banks and Splash News managing partner Gary Morgan are being sued for fraud, negligence, trespassing and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Harris: Spears Won't Be a Regular On 'How I Met Your Mother'
Neil Patrick Harris has quashed rumors Britney Spears will be a regular cast member on his TV show How I Met Your Mother. The singing star gained critical acclaim - and helped the hit TV series score its best ever ratings - when she played a guest role as a secretary in a episode which was aired last month. But Harris insists reports the singer has secured a permanent spot on the show after impressing bosses are untrue. He says, "Well, uh, no. (They're) totally unfounded rumors." And Harris insists Spears isn't ready to become a full-time actress: "She's not an actress. She played a role for a week, and did a really nice job, but the workload involved with doing memorization and the purging of comedy over and over is really, really hard. I mean, it takes a strong skill set to do that every week. You do it one week, it's fine, but to do it a lot of weeks is hard. She (Spears) is not going to be a regular on our show."
Fired Worker: "Hospital Knew Of Medical File Snooping In 1995"
Employees at UCLA Medical Center have been snooping into the hospital records of celebrities including Tom Cruise as far back as 1995, a former worker has claimed. James Duckstad tells the Los Angeles Times that officials at the L.A. hospital fired a group of staff, including himself, in 1995 for looking into the computer files of patients such as Cruise and Dom DeLuise. Earlier this month, former UCLA employee Lawanda J. Jackson admitted she improperly accessed the medical records of over 60 patients, including Farrah Fawcett and Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife Maria Shriver, in 2006 and 2007. Duckstad says, "It was news throughout the whole hospital that employees were fired for screwing around in the computer. This was in 1995, and here we are 13 years later - and either they didn't follow the policy or people didn't take it that seriously." However, UCLA's Dr. David Feinberg says, "(We are treating this) extremely seriously. If we failed in the past, we will do everything we can to improve our systems." Earlier this year, UCLA Medical Center bosses fired 12 people and suspended six others after discovering as many as 20 staff members had attempted to defy medical centre rules and obtain confidential information about Britney Spears.
Moss In British Airways Suitcase Chaos
Supermodel Kate Moss is the latest celebrity to become embroiled in the baggage chaos at London's Heathrow airport - losing suitcases full of her fashion designs on a trip to Los Angeles. The catwalk beauty's clothing range collaboration with British store Topshop has been an international success, with the designs sold in 21 countries. And Moss flew to L.A. last week for a series of photoshoots to promote the shop's autumn collection - taking a case full of prototypes with her. But on arrival at the city's Lax airport, the 34-year-old discovered that eight of her bags had disappeared at Heathrow's new Terminal 5 building. Thousands of passengers have been left bagless and out of pocket after problems with the new baggage-handling system caused major disruption earlier this month. British Airways have reportedly offered Moss $20,000 in compensation. Fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell was also caught up in the baggage crisis last week, with a dispute over a lost suitcase reportedly leading to her arrest for allegedly spitting at a police officer.
PETA Praises Beyonce

Animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) has called off its war with Beyonce Knowles after discovering the newlywed pop sensation has ended her love affair with fur. The singer was once near the top of PETA's 'hitlist' because of frequent sightings of her wearing fur coats. A member even won an auction to have lunch with her, only to confront her with video footage showing animals being skinned for fur. But the group has decided Knowles is now fur-free - and sent her a fake fur throw as a wedding present to mark her marriage to Jay-Z last week. The accompanying note reads, "From all of us at PETA, we wish you much happiness in your life together. Please accept this faux-fur throw with many good wishes and a hope from us that together, you'll be a fur-free couple!" PETA Vice President Lisa Lange says, "Celebrities know that the easiest way to keep PETA off their backs is by keeping fur off their backs. Time will tell if Beyonce is truly committed to being fur-free, but all indications are that she's become a real 'dreamgirl' for fur-bearing animals."
Vanilla Ice Slapped With Restraining Order
Rapper Vanilla Ice has been released from jail but ordered by a Florida court to stay away from his wife following his arrest for domestic battery. On Thursday, the star's spouse Laura reportedly called police claiming her husband - real name Robert Van Winkle - was kicking and hitting her at their Palm Beach County, Florida home. According to the arrest report, Laura Van Winkle appeared uninjured, but told cops she wanted a divorce from the star. But she is reported to have reneged on her earlier allegations, insisting her husband had not hit or kicked her, but had pushed her. Van Winkle - who was arrested in 2004 over similar battery charges - appeared in court at Palm Beach County, where judge Nancy Perez told him he can only contact Laura by phone. Perez also ruled Van Winkle must only communicate with his children through a friend. The '90s hip-hop star was escorted by police from the court to his home, to allow him the chance to pick up a few belongings, reports Tmz.com.
Barrowman's Botox Advice

British actor John Barrowman is a big fan of using Botox injections to preserve his good looks - but urges other thespians not to have too many of the treatments. The 41-year-old Torchwood star admits he regularly receives the wrinkle-smoothing treatment as he is determined to slow down the ageing process. The injections - which freeze facial muscles - have been blamed for giving devotees a rigid, expressionless look. But Barrowman insists actors can still opt for Botox, but only in limited doses. He says, "I have Botox. The key is not to do the forehead. Men need forehead lines and doing the forehead makes you look like Nicole Kidman. Just do it around the eyes. I can still smile and look expressive. If something makes you feel good then you should do it."
