Lowe Sues Over Blackmail Claim
Actor Rob Lowe has launched a $1 million lawsuit against a former nanny he accused of attempting to blackmail him. The Brothers And Sisters star claims Laura Boyce has demanded he and his wife Sheryl pay her $1.5 million by the end of this week, or she will go to the press with allegations of harassment. Lowe subsequently went public with the alleged extortion attempt, calling it "an attempt to damage and humiliate not only my wife and me, but our two young sons as well." The 44-year-old is now suing Boyce for violating a confidentiality agreement, defamation and infliction of emotional distress. Boyce was hired by the family at the beginning of 2007 and charged with looking after Edward, eight, and John, six, before she quit in November. The court papers filed by Lowe at Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday accuse their former employee of having "betrayed their trust and engaged in a scheme to hurt the Lowes by spreading malicious lies."

Clooney Talks Darfur With Prime Minister Brown
Actor-turned-humanitarian George Clooney met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Tuesday to discuss the Sudan genocide crisis. The actor/director then posed for pictures with Brown and his wife Sarah. Brown said, "I am grateful for the leadership George Clooney has shown in drawing attention to this crisis - this is a humanitarian tragedy of colossal proportions and the world must take note and act. The U.K. is working with the international community and others to pressure all sides to agree a ceasefire and start peace talks." Clooney has become a leading celebrity advocate for action against genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan after filming a documentary about the ongoing violence and refugee crisis there last year. He has also set up the Not On Our Watch organization with his Ocean's Thirteen costars Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle and Matt Damon - to help provide humanitarian aid in the region.
Campbell Receives Air Ban
Naomi Campbell has reportedly been banned from flying with British Airways following her alleged fight with a police officer at an airport last week. The supermodel was released on bail after she was arrested at London's Heathrow airport following a dispute over her luggage, which was lost in the airport's recent Terminal 5 luggage fiasco. Campbell allegedly spat at an officer and was handcuffed as she left the British Airways aircraft, which had yet to take off from Heathrow. And now the airline has banned the 37-year-old from flying on British Airways planes, according to British newspaper The Sun. A source tells the publication, "The decision (to ban her) was not taken lightly. She is a valued customer. But it is unthinkable for BA to talk about the safety of staff and passengers being out priority, and then let her off." But Campbell's spokeswoman is determined to have the ruling overturned, saying, "Naomi has been flying with BA for nearly 30 years and has been a good customer. She hopes this can be resolved amicably."
