Rodriguez Released From Jail Early

Lost star Michelle Rodriguez has been released early from prison - because it was overcrowded. The actress was sentenced to 180 days in jail after violating her probation for driving under the influence. She had admitted failing to complete community service after submitting a false document to show she carried out the work on September 25. The 29-year-old was also found to have consumed alcohol on at least three occasions while wearing a monitoring bracelet around her ankle, in violation of a probation requirement she refrain from drinking for 90 days. Rodriguez booked herself into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Los Angeles on December 24, but was released on Wednesday after serving just 17 days. According to website Tmz.com, Rodriguez was released due to severe overcrowding at the prison, despite the judge who sentenced the actress ordering her to complete the full term.

Barton Regrets "Stupid" DUI Arrest

Actress Mischa Barton has dismissed her recent driving under the influence arrest as a "stupid" mistake. The former The OC star, 21, was taken into police custody on December 27 after West Hollywood cops pulled her car over for driving erratically. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI, but was also booked for possession of narcotics and driving on a suspended license. And Barton insists she is full of regret for her actions. Speaking on radio host Ryan Seacrest's show on Thursday morning, she said: "I was pulled over and obviously, I'm 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case. I'm really disappointed in myself. I'm not perfect and I don't intend to do anything this stupid again." The star is currently free on $10,000 bail.

Collette Gives Birth to Baby Girl

Actress Toni Collette and her husband Dave Galafassi are celebrating after welcoming a baby girl into the world. The Little Miss Sunshine star, 35, gave birth to little Sage Florence on Wednesday in her native Sydney, Australia. A representative for Collette tells People.com, "All are well and very happy!" Collette and musician Galafassi have been married for four years and the newborn is the couple's first child.

Hospital Slammed Over Quaid Twins Accident

A California hospital has been blamed for a series of preventable errors which put the lives of Dennis Quaid's newborn twins in jeopardy. Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace are lucky to be alive after they were mistakenly given 1,000 times the normal 10-unit dose of blood-thinning drug Heparin by staff at Los Angeles' Cedar's Sinai Medical Center, shortly after they were born to a surrogate mother in November. And now the U.S. Department of Public Health has criticized the medical facility for not following guidelines. In a 20-page report, officials write, "This violation involved multiple failures by the facility to adhere to established policies and procedures for safe medication use. These violations caused, or were likely to cause, serious injury or death to the patients who received the wrong medication." Quaid and his wife Kimberley recently announced they plan on suing Baxter Healthcare Corp. for mislabeling the drug which left the babies critically ill.

Anderson: "I'm Not Pregnant"

Pamela Anderson has denied she is expecting estranged husband Rick Salomon's baby. The former Baywatch star was reported to be pregnant with Salomon's child, despite serving him with divorce papers in December after just two months of marriage. But Anderson has refuted the claims in a posting on her official website, simply stating 'No' on her online blog.

Brosnan Sued Over Water Theft

A farmer neighbor of Pierce Brosnan is suing the Die Another Day for stealing her water. Kauai, Hawaii farmer Cathy Ham Young claims the previous owner of Brosnan's estate on the island diverted water from the farm she owns - and the star has failed to replace a ditch, despite a judge's order to do so. Young, 77, claims her vegetable crop has been ruined by draught and she is taking the 54-year-old star to the Hawaiian Supreme Court. She says, "Pierce Brosnan stole my water. Because he's a millionaire movie star, he thought he could just move in and steal my water. He's even ignored a court ruling for him to put in a new ditch to restore the water supply to my farm. His lawyer told my lawyer: 'Pierce doesn't want to look at a ditch.'" But Brosnan's lawyer insists he isn't in the wrong: "Pierce has not been ordered to restore a ditch. A judge found that water goes through five different properties between Pierce's property and Cathy Young's property and that it's not Pierce's problem."

Wright Penn Laughs Off Adultery Reports

Robin Wright Penn has dismissed reports she served her husband Sean Penn with divorce papers after finding the actor in bed with two other women as "laughable." Wright, who filed for divorce in California on December 21 citing irreconcilable differences, is fed up with wayward speculation in the tabloid media as to the reason for the split. And the Nine Lives star was left particularly unimpressed by reports that claimed she caught Penn in the act of being unfaithful. She says, "This is laughable; it didn't happen." The couple wed in 1996 and has two children.

Holmes Congratulates Pregnant Kidman

Katie Holmes has offered her congratulations to her husband Tom Cruise's ex-wife Nicole Kidman, calling her pregnancy "wonderful/" On Monday , Kidman confirmed she is expecting a baby with her country singer husband Keith Urban. And Holmes, who has one-year-old daughter Suri with Cruise, is thrilled the Australian actress is having a child. She tells People.com, "I'm so happy for her. It's wonderful." Kidman and Cruise have two adopted children from their 11 year marriage, Isabella, 14, and Conor, 12.

Spears Holidays With Photographer in Mexico

Britney Spears has left her recent troubles behind her to holiday in Mexico with her paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. The singer, wearing a pink wig, and Ghalib checked into the Rosarito Beach Hotel, just south of the U.S. border, on Wednesday afternoon. The pair are traveling with unidentified friends, according to Mexico's Ensenada newspaper. Last week, Spears was taken to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a mental evaluation following a stand-off with police when she refused to hand over her boys to ex-husband Kevin Federline after a scheduled visit to her mansion.

Winehouse Chops Off Her Trademark Beehive

Troubled star Amy Winehouse has shocked fans by chopping off her trademark beehive hairstyle. The singer has had her hair cut into a short crop, and has swapped her formerly dark locks for a peroxide blonde hairdo. The new style is reported to have been the work of her hairdresser Alex Foden, who lives in the same east London apartment block as Winehouse. A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "She just said she felt like it. She'd thought about having a blonde beehive but decided on the shorter look." A spokesperson for the star adds, "She wanted a new look for the New Year."
