Stars Under Threat from Malibu Fires

Hollywood stars including Britney Spears, Courtney Love and Sting have been placed on evacuation alert after raging wildfires broke out in Malibu, California on Saturday. More than 10,000 residents are under threat and have been evacuated for the second time in less than a month due to the blazing infernos, blamed on Santa Ana winds. Around 1,700 firefighters battled the blaze - known as the Corral fire - at its peak. Over 50 luxury houses are reported to have been destroyed, with over 4,650 acres of land burned. Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea is said to have lost his million-dollar mansion, while Minnie Driver and Matthew McConaughey have been evacuated from their houses, although the winds, which perpetuate the fires, have subsided. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency last month after fires ravaged hundreds of homes and businesses, claiming more than 24,000 acres.

Kim Pleads Not Guilty to DUI Charge

Lost star Daniel Dae Kim has pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence (DUI) in Hawaii earlier this year. The actor, who plays Jin-Soo Kwon in the hit series, was stopped by police in Honolulu, where the show is filmed, in October after cops spotted him driving erratically. Patrick McPherson, Kim's attorney, said at the hearing on Friday, "He made an apology to the state, the people of Hawaii and his fans. He pleaded not guilty and requested a trial date." Kim did not appear at the arraignment. His driver's license was revoked on November 16. DUI incidents have plagued the Lost cast in Hawaii - castmates Cynthia Watros and Michelle Rodriguez both previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

Miley Cyrus Celebrates Birthday With Fans

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus had a unique way of celebrating her fifteenth birthday - by playing to a sold-out crowd of fans in her hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. The Disney actress was presented with a cake onstage and serenaded with "Happy Birthday" by an audience of 15,000 at the Best of Both Worlds concert. She told the crowd, "I'll tell you guys what my main wish when my parents asked me, 'Miley, what do you want for your 15th birthday?' The only thing that I had to say was, 'I want to be here at home with Nashville and all of you guys." Shortly after the singer closed the show with a bow alongside opening act The Jonas Brothers, she reemerged for an encore, announcing, "I'd like to bring out my best friend - that just about says it all - my daddy." She was joined by her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, 46, for an acoustic version of their signature duet "Ready, Set, Don't Go."

Craig Shapes Up for Next 007 Film

Daniel Craig has begun training sessions at the gym to shape up for his second outing as James Bond in the superspy film franchise. The 39-year-old thrilled audiences with his muscular physique in 2006's Casino Royale - but after shooting wrapped, the actor struggled to stay fit. He says, "After it finished I stopped training and ate what I wanted. It's hell because as soon as you get back in the gym, you have to work it all off." But the 007 hunk has promised fans the return of his trim figure in the as-yet-unnamed 22nd Bond movie. He insists, "Last time I did a lot of weights to bulk up. This time I'll do more running. I won't be as 'no-neck'. But when this guy takes his shirt off, he should look like he could kill someone."

'Heroes' Creator: "Sorry This Season Is a Flop"

The creator of hit TV show Heroes has issued a humbled apology to U.S. fans for a disappointing start to the second season. The superhero show, starring Hayden Panettiere and Masi Oka, was the top-rated new drama in the U.S. last year. But audience figures have taken a dip - with one recent episode placed 30th in the overall ratings. And creator Tim Kring admits his choice of storylines were a mistake. He tells magazine Entertainment Weekly, "We assumed the audience wanted season one - a build up of intrigue about these characters and the discovery of their powers. They wanted adrenaline. We made a mistake - we took too long to get to the big-picture story." Referring to the recent romantic plotlines, he adds, "In retrospect, I don't think romance is a natural fit for us."

Clooney Hands Over Cash To Actors Hit by Strike

Generous George Clooney has donated $25,000 to an Actors Fund cash drive aimed at helping those struggling financially because of the striking Hollywood writers. The Syriana movie star insists he'll make more donations if the strike continues - and he's urging his peers to follow his charitable example. He tells trade paper Daily Variety, "To people like myself, the strike is a forced vacation, but with the rhetoric high, and two other strikes looming, there is the fear that a prolonged strike can destroy people who make a living in this industry. My hope is that people who can afford it will take responsibility for this and help out."

Red Hot Chili Peppers Sue Showtime

Rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing executives at cable TV network Showtime over the pay-per-view channel's hit show Californication. In the suit, filed in Los Angeles on Monday, the band alleges the network used the name of their Grammy-nominated 1999 album to give the saucy new show, starring David Duchovny, the buzz factor. The Red Hot Chili Peppers bandmates claim unfair competition, alleging their Californication hit and the album it comes from achieved "extraordinary critical and commercial recognition" and Showtime is using it to boost the credibility of their show. Band frontman Anthony Kiedis states, "Californication is the signature CD, video and song of the band's career. For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right." U.S. Trademark Office records show that Showtime filed an application to trademark Californication as an ongoing television series, but the rights have not yet been granted. The band wants Showtime to rename the show and hand over damages.

Hogan "Shocked" by Divorce

Wrestling star Hulk Hogan is "shocked" by his wife's decision to file for divorce. Linda Bollea has submitted legal documents in Florida's Pinellas County Court seeking a permanent separation from her husband, whose real name is Terry Bollea. The sports star was informed of the split on Friday by a reporter from local newspaper the St. Petersburg Times. He told the journalist, "I'm kind of shocked. You caught me off guard. My wife has been in California for about three weeks... Holy smokes. Wow, you just knocked the bottom out of me. ... I just pulled over to the side of the road for five minutes to find out what was going on here." The papers do not state a reason for the divorce, reports local Fox News TV channel WTVT. The couple was married for 23 years following their 1983 wedding, and have two kids, 19-year-old Brooke and 17-year-old Nick - who had his driver's license suspended for one year by police in relation to a summer car crash.

Depp Gifts Paradis With Vineyard

Johnny Depp has given his long-time partner Vanessa Paradis a vineyard as congratulations for her months of hard work recording a new album. The 44-year-old purchased the vineyard near the villa in Plan de la Tour, France, which he shares with the singer and their two children Lily-Rose, eight, and Jack, five. The Sweeney Todd star also owns a 45-acre island in the Bahamas, where he frequently vacations. Depp has been with the French beauty for nearly 10 years, but insists he has no plans to marry again after his two-year marriage to musician Lori Anne Allison ended in divorce in 1985.

Lakshmi Denies Infidelity Rumors

Actress Padma Lakshmi has denied her marriage to author Salman Rushdie ended because she had an affair. The host of hit reality show Top Chef - who filed for divorce from the novelist in July three years after they wed - was rumored to have cheated on Rushdie with British royal Diana, Princess of Wales' former suitor Ted Forstmann. But the former model, 37, denies infidelity and is adamant there was no third party involved. She says, "What can I say? Salman is the greatest love of my life. We really tried to work it out. I wish I could tell you exactly why (it ended), but there was no 'That's it' moment. It was just like slowly getting very hard. There was no third party. I wasn't mean to his kids. There was no, like, infidelity." However, a source has told Vanity Fair magazine, "(Lakshmi and Forstmann) are an item. They're dating."

Superman Routh Weds

Superman Returns star Brandon Routh married his long-term girlfriend Courtney Ford on Saturday. The 28-year-old and actress Ford, 29, wed at the El Capitan Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. The bride wore a Junko Yoshioka sheath dress with chantilly lace and platinum beading, while the groom sported a cashmere suit, reports website People.com. The couple met four years ago at a Hollywood bowling alley Routh worked at. He proposed to Ford in Glastonbury, England in summer 2006.
