'Lost' Star Kim Arrested for DUI

Lost star Daniel Dae Kim has been arrested for driving under the influence in Hawaii. The actor, who plays Jin-Soo Kwon in the hit series, was stopped by police at around 3am on Thursday in Honolulu where the show is filmed, according to local newspaper the Honolulu Advertiser. Kim was booked at the Honolulu Police station and was released at 5:05 am after posting bail, although full details of the arrest have not been released. It marks the latest in a string of DUI-related arrests to plague the Lost cast in Hawaii - cast mates Cynthia Watros and Michelle Rodriguez both pleaded guilty to driving under the influence in January 2007 and April 2006 respectively.

Wilson Gives First Interview Since Suicide Attempt

Movie star Owen Wilson has given his first interview since his suicide attempt - to his longtime friend, director Wes Anderson. The interview, to be posted online on Friday at midnight, sees the actor talk candidly to the director of his latest film, The Darjeeling Limited, as part of the MySpace Artist on Artist series. It will be Wilson's first public airing since he rushed to the hospital after slashing his wrists at his Santa Monica home two months ago. At the time, the Wedding Crashers star asked for privacy with a statement saying, "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time." In September, at the Venice Film Festival, Anderson said that his friend was "doing well." He added: "When he's ready he's going to speak for himself much better than anyone else could. He has a very good way with words." Wilson and Anderson have worked together on multiple projects, including Bottle Rocket and The Royal Tenenbaums, which they co-wrote, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Hilton's Rwanda Trip Postponed

Socialite Paris Hilton's much-hyped forthcoming trip to Rwanda has been postponed. The Simple Life star was due to make a charity visit to the African nation with members of the Playing For Good Foundation next month, and shoot scenes for a new reality TV show there. But charity leaders have been forced to put the trip on hold. A statement from the Playing For Good Foundation reads, "Due to the restructuring of the Playing For Good Foundation, the philanthropic trip to Rwanda that the foundation had previously planned with Paris Hilton has been postponed. Paris has been a loyal and gracious supporter of Playing For Good but the foundation has to regrettably reschedule this trip. Playing For Good would like to thank Ms. Hilton for her generosity and her continued support of this initiative and is looking forward to rescheduling the trip with her at a later time."

Berry Film Premiere Blaze

Halle Berry's Things We Lost In The Fire premiere in London almost went up in smoke - after a real-life blaze broke out just yards away from the cinema. Firefighters acted quickly to put out the fire, which broke out in a nearby restaurant kitchen hours before the Oscar-winning actress and co-star Benicio Del Toro were scheduled to hit the red carpet on Wednesday. Part of Leicester Square, where the premiere was held, was closed off as fire crews worked to bring the blaze under control. The drama served as a poignant reminder of the wildfires currently engulfing Southern California, worryingly close to Berry's home. The pregnant actress told reporters she was worried about her home and couldn't wait to get back to Los Angeles and survey any damage. She said, "It's terrible and frightening. My heart goes out to all those people who have lost homes in the fires."

Spears Hit-and-Run Charges Dismissed

Britney Spears has escaped a misdemeanor hit-and-run charge, after it was dismissed in a California court. The star allegedly smashed into a parked car in a private parking lot in the San Fernando Valley on August 6 in Los Angeles while driving without a valid license. Earlier this month, Spears impressed the vehicle's owner Kim Robard-Rifkin by offering a personal apology and $1,000 in compensation - which caused the charges to be dismissed in a Van Nuys court. Spears' lawyer J. Michael Flanagan says Robard-Rifkin "is very sympathetic toward Britney and hopes the best for her." But it's not the end of legal troubles for the troubled star - Spears has been ordered to appear in court on November 26 over the charges of driving without a valid California driver's license. According to Flanagan, L.A. City Attorneys plan to seek a probation term and fine against the singer.

Carrere Back Home After Evacuation

Wayne's World star Tia Carrere is all smiles again after spending three nights in a hotel praying that her fire-scorched home wouldn't be destroyed. The actress was one of many stars evacuated from their homes as wildfires spread throughout southern California earlier this week. Carrere was told she was safe to return to her Malibu residence just before attending the Hollywood premiere of new movie Dan In Real Life on Wednesday night. On the red carpet, she joked that the dress she was wearing was one of the only items she had been able to rescue from her home when firefighters told her to get out. She said, "I've been very lucky and I can now return home." Also returning home after evacuation are country singer Tanya Tucker, Kelsey Grammer and Sting. More than 1,400 homes have been destroyed by the 18 fires that began last weekend.

Hanks & Howard Ready 'Da Vinci Code' Sequel

Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks and director Ron Howard will begin shooting a sequel to their 2006 smash hit The Da Vinci Code in February. Angels & Demons - again based on a novel by Dan Brown - will see Hanks reprise his character of Harvard University symbolist Robert Langdon. This time the literary hero will be involved in a frantic quest to find the world's most powerful energy source. The Da Vinci Code will be a hard act to follow - the movie has made $757,236,138 at the international box-office. Angels & Demons marks the fourth time Hanks and Howard have teamed up for a big screen project.

Danes Thanks Rodriguez for "Cover Up" Advice

Actress Claire Danes has thanked fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez for insisting she "dress her age" at the 1995 Academy Awards ceremony. The Romeo + Juliet actress admits she wanted to wear a sexy outfit for the Oscar bash, but was advised by her clothing mentor to "cover up." Under the advice of Rodriguez, Danes ended up choosing a stylish cashmere t-shirt and skirt ensemble for the ceremony - which was praised by fashion critics across the world. She says, "At 17, girls are so confused about sex. Maybe they've just started to have it, and they think full exposure is what they're supposed to aim for, and, of course, it's not. So I wanted to be sexy for the Oscars! And Narciso said: 'No, you're a girl. You should look age-appropriate.' It seems pretty fundamental, but it was important for me to hear that at the time."

Dourdan Defends Paparazzo Clash

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gary Dourdan has again dismissed reports he got physical with a cameraman earlier this year, insisting he only reached out to stop the videographer from taking his picture. An unnamed photographer, who works for entertainment website Tmz.com, claimed Dourdan "slammed" him to the pavement and shoved him several times outside Los Angeles nightspot Hyde in July. Video footage of the incident shows Dourdan shouting, "Get that f**king camera out of my face." However, the actor insists he didn't punch the photographer. He says, "Some people have hit paparazzi, which I never did. I just took his camera away. I don't mind the photographers, but the guys with the video cameras don't have any respect. The guy had been taping me for 35 minutes. I'm asking him to shut the camera off and he wouldn't do it no matter what I asked. Me losing my temper didn't help the matter."

Pitt "Embarrassed" by Early Films

Brad Pitt was so embarrassed by his performance in movies Cutting Class, Meet Joe Black and Seven Years In Tibet, he's apologized to film critics. He admits some of his roles in the late 1980s and 1990s were not his strongest - and agrees with movie critics who claim his earlier work is not his best. But Pitt insists the experience has made him a much better actor. He says, "I believe I'm quite capable and we, as people, can learn to do anything, and that's proof of it! And my education is on film, on record! Now I can take on anything that comes my way and find truth in it an do a pretty good job."

Young Connery Portrait On Show

A portrait of a young Sean Connery posing in just his underwear has gone on show in a Scottish art gallery. Jazz great and painter Al Fairweather captured the man who was to become James Bond when he was a student at the Edinburgh College Of Art in the early 1950s. The forgotten artwork is now on show at the college as part of a retrospective exhibition of its past students. The show will transfer to London in the New Year.
