Magazine Apologizes to Portman Over Film Mix-Up
UPDATE: A U.S. magazine has been forced to apologize to actress Natalie Portman after suggesting she's far from happy with her performance in short film Hotel Chevalier.
Sunday supplement Parade stated Portman was talking about the movie, in which she appears nude, when she commented about an "uncomfortable" scene she shot in a forthcoming essay she wrote for the publication.
But the actress' publicist, Kelly Bush, has pounced on Parade, insisting her client was actually talking about a torture scene in new film Goya's Ghosts.
A statement from the magazine's publicist reads, "We say that Portman regrets doing a nude scene in the movie Hotel Chevalier.
This is wrong. When Portman writes about this in Parade, she does not mention a specific movie title.
She tells us she was referring to a torture scene with a body double in Goya's Ghosts, which was taken out of context and leaked onto the Internet. Portman is very happy with Hotel Chevalier and proud of her work in the film."
In her essay, Portman admits she is still rather upset about agreeing to do something she felt awkward about, writing, "I'm really sorry I didn't listen to my intuition. From now on, I'm going to trust my gut more."
Previously reported: Actress Natalie Portman insists she'll never bare all on the big screen again after regretting a saucy scene in new short film Hotel Chevalier. The shots of the actress baring all in the film hit the internet earlier this year - months before the movie hit festivals in September. And Portman admits she's rather upset about agreeing to do something she felt awkward about in the Wes Anderson-directed prelude to The Darjeeling Limited. She says, "I'm really sorry I didn't listen to my intuition. From now on, I'm going to trust my gut more. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is say no."
Rowling Shocked by Response to Gay Dumbledore

Author J.K. Rowling is stunned by the reaction she received after outing popular Harry Potter character Albus Dumbledore as gay. The writer revealed the truth about the Hogwarts school headmaster's sexuality at New York's Carnegie Hall on Friday as part of her American book tour. The outing of Dumbledore provoked more that 3,000 comments on Harry Potter fansite, The Leaky Cauldron - and Rowling is shocked by the furor over her character's sexual orientation. Rowling says, "It has certainly never been news to me that a brave and brilliant man could love other men. He is my character. He is what he is and I have the right to say what I say about him."
Hudgens Denies Being Dropped by Disney

Teenage actress Vanessa Hudgens has denied reports she has been dropped from the upcoming cinema sequel to TV smash High School Musical because of her recent nude photo scandal. The 18-year-old recently admitted posing for naked camera phone shots that she meant only for the eyes of boyfriend Zac Efron - but the saucy snaps fell into a third party's hands and were plastered all over the internet. However, Hudgens insists the controversy will not affect her role in the Disney follow-up. Her spokesperson says, "It's an old rumor."

Bloom Dates Model

British actor Orlando Bloom has found comfort in the arms of an Australian model as Los Angeles police investigate a Los Angeles car crash he was involved in. The Elizabethtown star cut a corner sharply while reportedly trying to shake off the paparazzi following him, and slammed into a parked Porsche earlier this month. But, as police investigate the incident, Bloom has been enjoying a series of dates with a Miranda Kerr, according to reports. An insider tells American magazine Us Weekly, "They've been friends for a long time. But they only decided to give it a go a few weeks ago." Bloom is under investigation because the authorities believe he initially left the scene of the accident, after reporting it. Paparazzi footage of the accident clearly show the actor walking away and then being persuaded to return to the mangled car he was driving by snappers. Cops determined Bloom was not under the influence of drugs or drink when he crashed, but they are looking at the possibility that he committed a hit and run.
Hopkins on Evacuation Alert

Sir Anthony Hopkins is making daily dashes between his home and Hollywood in a bid to make sure he can evacuate his property properly if California wildfires threaten his estate. The movie star and his wife live in coastal Point Dume near Santa Barbara and have so far escaped the many fires burning throughout southern California. But Hopkins isn't taking any chances, and is limiting the time he spends in Los Angeles, promoting his directorial debut Slipstream. He says, "It's (fires) a terrible thing to watch but so far we're OK. I'm going straight back to make sure everything's OK." Kelsey Grammer, Olivia Newton-John, Jane Seymour and director James Cameron haven't been so lucky - they were all evacuated from their homes in and around Malibu, California earlier this week.
Brolin & Ladd To Join 'Dallas' Cast?
James Brolin and Diane Ladd are in negotiations to play Ewing family parents Jock and Miss Ellie in the revamped Dallas movie project. Directors and cast quit the film at the beginning of 2007, leaving signed-up star Luke Wilson to comment he felt the film adaptation of the 1980s TV soap would never be made. Wilson is reportedly still onboard, as is John Travolta, who has been cast as oil tycoon villain J.R. Ewing - and now a few more gaps are being filled, with Doctor Dolittle director Betty Thomas at the helm. According to website CinemaBlend.com, Brolin has already agreed to play the part of Jock Ewing, the role played by the late Jim Davis in the TV series. Minka Kelly is reportedly in talks to replace Jennifer Lopez as Pamela Ewing, while Julie Benz has been offered the part of J.R.'s wife Sue Ellen Ewing.
Spears Fails To Pay Dancers
Britney Spears has come under fire for failing to pay the dancers who appeared on stage with her at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. The star - who was panned for her performance of new single Gimme More at the Las Vegas ceremony - fired her management team, The Firm, before they could issue full payments to the dancers for their involvement in preparations for the show. A source tells Us Weekly, "The dancers were paid for the actual show and some of the rehearsals, but not all of them."
Combs Turns Vodka Promoter
Sean "Diddy" Combs has added another business venture to his empire - the music mogul has signed a multi-year contract to promote vodka. The rapper has agreed to promote Ciroc vodka for a 50 percent share of any profits. Combs, who also has clothing and perfume lines, will be responsible for marketing the brand. He says, "I'm not just a celebrity endorser, I'm a brand builder. I'm a luxury brand builder." The new deal could be worth more than $100 million for Combs, depending on how well the brand performs - and he means business: "It is not an endorsement deal. This is something that will have my daily attention."
