Careless Spears accidentally collided with Kim Robard-Rifkin's vehicle as she tried to park her Mercedes Benz in Van Nuys, California. After inspecting the damage on her own car, Spears failed to contact Robard-Rifkin in accordance with California law. And that's not the only driving charge the City Attorney dropped on the pop star on Friday - she also faces a misdemeanor count of driving without a valid California license. Each charge carries a maximum of six months in jail. Britney's arraignment hearing is set for October 10 in Van Nuys Superior Court. And the latest controversy seems to have turned Spears into a wreck - she was spotted sobbing while shopping in Los Angeles as the news of her driving crimes broke. Earlier this week, a Los Angeles judge ruled the pop Star Would be subjected to random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing child custody battle with ex Kevin Federline. The pair must also attend parental counseling sessions.

Lindsay Lohan stand accused of destroying the marriage of a rock star she was reported to have romanced in rehab. Actress Salma Hayek is celebrating becoming a mother for the first time - after giving birth to a girl. The Frida star and fiance Francois-Henri Pinault welcomed Valentina Paloma Pinault at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Friday. A spokesman for the couple says, "Mother and child are doing well." Valentina is Pinault's third child.

Mandy Moore and Enrique Iglesias are to play love rivals on TV. The pop stars will play the lovers of on/off How I Met Your Mother couple Robin and Ted (Cobie Smulders and Josh Radnor). Actor George Clooney could face dangerous driving charges following his motorcycle accident in New Jersey. Weehawken Police Sergeant Sean Kelly has revealed the accident on Friday happened when Clooney tried to pass a 1999 Mazda Millenia that was attempting a right hand turn from the left lane. Sergeant Kelly says, "It's a he-said, she-said right now, but you can't pass on the right in Weehawken or anywhere in Jersey." Clooney suffered a rib fracture and grazes in the accident and his new girlfriend Sarah Larson, who was his passenger, had two broken toes. They were both taken to the Palisades Medical Center for treatment but have since been released.

British singer Victoria Beckham is set to join The Pussycat Dolls on tour in a bid to conquer America. Lindsay Lohan has a new rehab pal - Bon Jovi star Richie Sambora. The rocker has checked into the same Utah rehab facility as the Mean Girls star, the Cirque Lodge, according to U.S. sources. In June , the guitarist completed a detox stint at the UCLA Medical Center after confessing he was struggling with alcoholism. In an interview shortly after his brief stay, Sambora said, "I was just drinking too much and I needed to get my life together... It's been a rough year. I'm still in therapy and stuff like that, but it's good. I'm great. I feel fine." Sambora's alcohol issues came after the break-ups of his marriage to Heather Locklear and romance with Denise Richards, and the death of his father.

Hollywood star Mel Gibson has ignored safety warnings from the US government and is going ahead with his move to an isolated part of Costa Rica. The Mad Max actor, 51, plans to move his wife Robyn and seven children 3,000 miles away from their home in California to a $26 million ranch in a rural area that is known as "bandit territory". Ignoring official US government warnings, Gibson has put two properties in California and Connecticut on the market to finance his move to the densely wooded estate in the Guanacaste province on Costa Rica's northern Pacific coast. A State Department briefing warns that all American visitors there are "potential targets for criminals and kidnappers" and should never travel alone. It adds, "Local law enforcement agencies have limited capabilities and do not operate according to US standards."
