Police Report Confirms Wilson Attempted Suicide

Los Angeles police have confirmed actor Owen Wilson did try to kill himself at his Californian home on Sunday. The 38-year-old Wedding Crashers star was taken by ambulance from his Santa Monica property to the emergency room at the nearby St. John's Hospital at midday on Sunday. Reports immediately began circulating that Wilson had cut his wrists and taken pills in an attempt to end his life. He was reportedly found found by older brother Andrew, who called the authorities. And now the Santa Monica Police Department's Calls For Service report - obtained by U.S. news show Extra - lists the reason for the emergency 911 call to Wilson's address as an "attempted suicide." The phone call was received by authorities at 12:08pm on Sunday and "cleared" nearly five hours later at 5:07pm. Wilson made no mention of the controversy in a statement he released on Monday: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time." The actor's family was seen at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was reportedly transferred to, on Sunday night. A hospital spokesman reported Wilson to be in a "good condition" on Monday.
Jolie Visits Iraq

Actress Angelina Jolie arrived in war-torn Iraq on Tuesday in her capacity as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. On Monday, the mother-of-four flew from New York City to Damascus, Syria, where she spent hours chatting to Iraqi refugees and visited a UNHCR (United Nations Refugee Agency) registration centre. The next day Jolie traveled to a makeshift outpost on the Syria/Iraqi border to meet 1,200 refugees, camped there because they're unable to leave the country. She says, "I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners. My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq. It is absolutely essential that the ongoing debate about Iraq's future includes plans for addressing the enormous humanitarian consequences these people face." Jolie has also made a morale-boosting trip to meet multi-national forces and U.S. troops in the region.
Abuse Allegations in Spears/Federline Custody Battle
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's custody battle is heating up - an allegation of child abuse is to be investigated. Legal sources tell website Tmz.com Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan filed legal papers on Monday, which mentions a investigation by the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) concerning the parenting to Sean Preston, 23 months; and Jayden James, 11 months. Tmz reports the court files allege the children have poor dental hygiene and bad eating and sleeping habits. An anonymous complaint about either Federline or Spears was reportedly filed with the DCFS in July 2, but was not followed up with an investigation. Last year the couple were investigated twice by the DCFS after Spears was photographed driving with Sean Preston on her lap and then two months later when the tot fell out of his high chair at their Malibu, California home. TV show Access Hollywood said the child abuse allegations have become the primary matter in the couple's custody battle. The couple's divorce was finalized last month with both parties agreeing to joint custody of the boys. However, Federline is now seeking full custody following Spears' recent erratic behavior.
Dunst "Robber" Arraigned

Two men have been formally charged with robbing Kirsten Dunst's New York City hotel suite. Mechanic James Jimenez, 33; and plumber Jarrod Beinerman, also 33; were arrested on Sunday and Thursday respectively for breaking into Dunst's room at the Soho Grand on August 9. The two men were arraigned on charges of burglary and grand larceny in a New York court on Monday, the New York Post reports. Jimenez was ordered to be held on $75,000 bond or $25,000 bail. The two men allegedly stole designer bags, $2,500 in cash, credit and ID cards, two digital cameras, a cell phone and an iPod music player from the Marie Antoinette star's room.
Bass Objects To "Fake" Magazine Quotes About New York

Former 'N Sync singer Lance Bass has hit out at a magazine article which he claims contains "fake quotes" of him criticizing New York. Bass, who is currently starring on the New York stage in Hairspray, insists he had nothing but nice things to say about the Big Apple when he sat down for an interview with a journalist from New York magazine. He writes on his MySpace webpage: "This dumb reporter just put words in my mouth and turned everything I said into a negative. I told her I love NY and I will probably be doing the bi-coastal thing now because I love it so much." However, a spokesperson for New York magazine says, "We fully stand behind our reporting."
Winehouse's Father-in-Law Urges Fans To Boycott Her Music
Amy Winehouse's father-in-law has urged her fans to boycott her music until the troubled singer gets medical help. The singer collapsed earlier this month following three days of hard partying and was admitted to a London hospital. Reports have since surfaced she allegedly suffered a drug overdose. And her husband Blake Fielder-Civil's stepfather insists the only way his daughter-in-law gets help is if her fans stop buying her records. Giles says, "Perhaps it is time to stop buying records. It's a possibility, to send that message." But Winehouse's dad Mitch does not believe the boycott will help his daughter, saying, "It won't send any message to Amy at all, unfortunately. If I thought it would, it would be a great idea." Winehouse recently revealed she was self harming after pictures showed the singer sporting bandages on her arm last week.
Dutt's Release Lands Prison Guards in Trouble

Troubled Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's early release from jail may have cost nine prison guards their jobs after they hugged him in jubilation. The star, 48, who was sentenced to six years behind bars for illegal possession of weapons linked to the 1993 Mumbai bombers, was granted interim bail on Thursday. He was greeted with hugs and handshakes from star-struck prison guards on his release. However prison officers at Yerwada prison in Pune, India, are being investigated after a senior politician saw TV footage of the incident. Dutt will have to return to the prison next month when his temporary bail runs out.
Fire Breaks Out on 'Bones' Set

TV show Bones was thrown into jeopardy after a fire broke out on set on Monday The blaze, which started at the David Boreanaz-fronted series' set in 20th Century Fox studios in Los Angeles, was thought to have started when a piece of electrical equipment set a piece of material alight. A source tells E! Online a production assistant was able to extinguish the blaze before any serious damage was caused to the set. Filming was able to resume on Monday afternoon.
Cuthbert Splits From Hockey Beau

Former 24 star Elisha Cuthbert has split from her ice hockey player boyfriend Sean Avery, according to media reports. The couple started dating in 2005 after the blonde actress ended her engagement to Trace Ayala - best friend and business partner of Justin Timberlake. Friends of the couple tell the U.S. edition of OK! magazine that Cuthbert ended the relationship several weeks ago. A pal says, "She's a serial monogamist, jumping from one relationship to another."
Oliver Hudson Is a New Dad

Actor Oliver Hudson is a new dad after his wife Erinn Bartlett gave birth to a baby boy. Wilder Brooks Hudson was born in Los Angeles on 23 August, several weeks early. Rules Of Engagement actor Hudson - the brother of actress Kate Hudson and son of Goldie Hawn - says, "I'm so tired, but I'm on a high, and I want to take in all of it." The couple married last June in a Mexican beachside ceremony.
