'Simpsons' Kwik-E-Mart Becomes a Reality

The Simpsons' fictional convenience store Kwik-E-Mart has become a reality thanks to a publicity stunt by 7-Eleven bosses in America. To mark the release of The Simpsons Movie in the U.S. later this month, a dozen 7-Eleven stores have been turned into Kwik-E-Marts for the remainder of July. The more-than-6,000 7-Elevens across America which have not been turned into Kwik-E-Marts will still sell Simpsons-related food and drink, including Buzz Cola and KrustyO's cereal, which have previously only been seen on the long-running animated TV show. The Simpsons Movie is set to be released in the U.S. on July 27.

Diaz Denies Angel Split Involvement

Actress Cameron Diaz has denied having anything to do with illusionist Criss Angel's separation from his wife. In papers filed by Angel's estranged wife Joanne Sarantakos at Nassau County Court, New York on Friday the bitter ex named The Holiday star as the "other woman" in her divorce battle. A legal representative for Sarantakos, who is said to have hired a private investigator to track Angel's activities, said, "We're naming Cameron Diaz as his lover. We will subpoena her as soon as she comes back to New York." However, Diaz's spokesman Brad Cafarelli tells website People.com, "When Cameron met Criss Angel in May of this year, he had been separated from his wife for over a year and she had already filed a petition to divorce him in 2006." Angel, 39, recently denied being in a relationship with Diaz, 34, following a string of sightings of the couple in Las Vegas. In a TV interview, the magic man said, "I'm honored to call Cameron a friend."

Washington: "I Tried To Resign"

Fired Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington has revealed he twice tried to resign from the show following the fuss caused by the gay slur he uttered during an on-set fight - but TV bosses wouldn't let him walk. The actor made his first full television interview appearance since his firing on CNN's Larry King Live on Monday - and confessed he's still reeling from his departure from the show. Washington is annoyed because he offered to do the right thing after using the word 'f****t' in an argument with co-star Patrick Dempsey last year - and then repeating it at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year. The scandal outraged gay groups and prompted gay co-star T.R. Knight to come out. Washington agreed to publicly apologize for his comments and met with gay community leaders to ask their forgiveness - and then he offered to quit. He told King, "I expected something. I didn't know that it would happen (firing) because I resigned. I tried to resign twice." Washington also used his chat with King to reiterate the fact he's not anti-gay. He claims an unfortunate word simply slipped out in the heat of the moment and the fight was leaked to the press. He added, "I am not homophobic, no way, shape and form... I made a huge error in judgment." During the interview with King, Washington broke down as he talked about the support he has received from his cast mates. He fought back tears as he explained, "I got a wonderful email from Sandra Oh from Spain."

Lohan Marks 21st with Low-Key Family Bash

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was joined by her mother and siblings as she turned 21 in rehab on Monday. The Just My Luck actress was charged with driving under the influence after smashing her car in Beverly Hills, California in May. She checked into rehab facility Promises shortly afterwards. To celebrate her landmark birthday, Lohan took a break from her stay at the clinic to host a party at Courteney Cox's residence in Malibu, California. She was joined by family and friends, including DJ Samantha Ronson, at the low-key bash. Lohan called off her original plans for a two-day birthday celebration at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas shortly after checking into rehab.

Rushdie Files for Divorce From Lakshmi

British author Salman Rushdie has filed for divorce from his wife of three years. The writer, who was at the center of a fight between Britain and Iran last month after making Queen Elizabeth II's Honors List, has agreed to divorce Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi. Rushdie's spokeswoman Jin Auh says, "Salman Rushdie has agreed to divorce his wife, Padma Lakshmi, because of her desire to end their marriage. He asks that the media respect his privacy at this difficult time." Rushdie married Lakshmi, a former model born in 1970 in India, in 2004. She was his fourth wife and the couple had no children.

German Ministry Denies "Crucial" Filming Location for Cruise Film

Germany's Finance Ministry has banned Tom Cruise from filming his forthcoming movie at the Bendlerblock memorial site, despite pleas from the studio the location is "crucial" to the film. Cruise is playing World War II hero Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg - who lead an unsuccessful plot to assassinate Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler - in new film Valkyrie. Despite the Defense Ministry's claims last month they would not permit Cruise to film at any of the country's military sites, the Finance Ministry - who oversee the properties in question - said the star was welcome to film in Germany - the only exception being Bendlerblock. Bendlerblock is a military building, which includes a memorial to Von Stauffenberg, who was executed at the site in July 1944. The Defense Ministry announced they wouldn't allow Cruise to film Valkyrie on any of its sites, because they objected to his controversial Scientology religion, which is regarded as a money-making cult by German authorities - but the Finance Department denies their decision is related to Cruise's Scientologist beliefs. Spokesman Stefan Olbermann says, "They will not be permitted to film at the Bendlerblock but this has nothing to do with (Scientology). We welcome the fact that such a film is being made. We don't think it would be appropriate to film there." Von Stauffenberg's eldest son Berthold von Stauffenberg has publicly denounced the casting of Cruise, saying, "He should keep his hands off my father."

Radcliffe Becomes Youngest Waxwork

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix actor Daniel Radcliffe became the youngest ever star to be immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds on Monday. The 17-year-old, who celebrates his landmark 18th birthday later this month, joins a host of celebrities at the famous London landmark - and Ben Lovett, a spokesman for the museum, insists that regardless of age, the young star deserves to be waxed up. Lovett claims Radcliffe's recent naked turn onstage in controversial London play Equus gave the actor a celebrity edge he never had before. He says, "With his 18th birthday around the corner and stage roles like Equus under his belt, Daniel has become a young British acting force to be reckoned with. It's been great for the studio's sculptors to recreate someone who we've all watched growing up on the big screen."

Pfeiffer: "Armani Is My Soulmate"

Actress Michelle Pfeiffer has hailed fashion designer Giorgio Armani as her "soulmate" - insisting he is the only one who understands her "schizophrenic personality." The Hollywood beauty met Armani while filming the 1983 hit Scarface and was stunned to hear he wanted to dress her. She explains, "I didn't know people in the movie industry did such things. I remember thinking, 'Why would I want someone to dress me - and who is Giorgio Armani' He is now my soulmate. He can adjust to my sometimes schizophrenic personality. I don't want to think about what to wear on big occasions. He saves me from being on those worst dressed lists." The Oscar-nominated Dangerous Liaisons star is next set to be seen onscreen in the film adaptation of the Broadway hit musical Hairspray.

Ross Shamed in New Biography

Singing legend Diana Ross is a difficult and demanding boss who fires staff on a whim, according to a new biography. Author J. Randy Taraborrelli claims Ross fired her entire staff when unflattering stories appeared in the press and also blacklisted a number of former assistants she had fired. In Diana Ross - due for release in September - Ross is also accused of using her daughter Tracee to spy on staff and report back if they misbehaved, reports the New York Daily News. In one incident Taraborelli claims Ross' former personal assistant Michael Browne was chastised for failing to hide $100,000 worth of presents on a private jet carrying her and her daughters to Las Vegas. She is also accused of upstaging former Supremes band mate Florence Ballard during her own funeral, by announcing to the congregation over a microphone that she and fellow Supreme Mary Wilson "wanted to have a silent prayer." Taraborelli claims it was obvious "the last thing (Wilson) wanted to do was go up to the altar and be the centre of attention."

Buble: "I'm Not Engaged to Blunt"

Singer Michael Buble has played down rumors he is set to marry his actress girlfriend Emily Blunt. Buble says he and The Devil Wears Prada star laughed at recent news reports suggesting the pair were engaged. He says, "We had a good laugh about that one." The hitmaker also claims he hates "gushing" celebrities who constantly showcase their relationships - and won't be calling Blunt pet names in the press. He says, "I get really turned off reading celebrities gushing about each other. 'She's my snooky-wooky-pooky and I'm the luckiest man in the world!'"
