Oscar Winner Broadbent Joins 'Indiana Jones' Cast

Revered British actor Jim Broadbent has joined the cast of the upcoming fourth Indiana Jones movie. The Moulin Rouge star will join fellow Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf and fellow Brits John Hurt and Ray Winstone in the much-anticipated action film. Production on the film, which reunites director Steven Spielberg, executive producer George Lucas and Ford as the adventurer, began on Monday. The movie is scheduled for release next summer. Broadbent won the 2001 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Iris, the same year he also appeared in Moulin Rouge and Bridget Jones's Diary.

Hilton Writes to Fans From Jail

Paris Hilton is filling her time in jail by responding to fans' letters. The socialite, who is serving time for violating probation on a 2006 drunk driving charge, spends 23 hours a day locked in a cell at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California. And she isn't sitting idle - she's putting pen to paper. E! Online obtained one of the letters Hilton has sent back to a well-wisher, in which she writes, "I read your letter and just wanted to thank you for your kind words of love and support. The fact that you took time out of your day to write me truly means the world. Especially at such a difficult and scary time in my life. But I am being strong and trying to make the best out of the situation. And the letters I'm receiving really do put a smile on my face as I sit here in my cell, sad and alone." A representative for Hilton confirms the letter was written by the hotel heiress, adding, "She has been trying to respond to her fans as they write, personally." Hilton began her sentence on June 4; she is expected to walk free on Monday.

Apted To Direct Next 'Narnia' Tale

Enigma filmmaker Michael Apted is taking over from Andrew Adamson to direct the third installment in The Chronicles Of Narnia series. Disney Pictures and Walden Media announced on Wednesday that Apted, 66, will direct The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, which is scheduled for release in 2009. Adamson is currently filming Prince Caspian in New Zealand - which is set for release next year, following the success of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe in 2005. In chronological order, The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader and Prince Caspian are the fifth and fourth books respectively in C.S. Lewis' seven book trilogy, but filmmakers have chosen the order so the first movie's child actors can continue to play their characters before they are too old.

Moore: "Film Leak Was an Inside Job"

Documentary maker Michael Moore has accused movie executives of leaking his new film Sicko on the internet because he insists the weekend controversy must have been an inside job. The editors of video-sharing website YouTube.com were forced to pull links to pirated versions of Moore's new U.S. healthcare film after learning as many as 600 people had seen the movie illegally online. But Moore isn't buying suggestions the leak was a mistake or the result of a clever pirate - because the online footage was too good. He fumes, "The film that's leaked onto the internet is not taken at a movie theatre with a little home movie camera the way it's usually done. This is the master. This is the actual digital; it's perfect. You can't really get that unless you've been able to perform an inside job. If you were a police detective, one of the first questions you would ask is about motive: Who has a vested interest in ruining the opening weekend's box office of this movie? If I were the police or FBI investigating this felony that's taken place, that's where I would look."

Holmes Silences Pregnancy Speculation

Katie Holmes silenced speculation she is pregnant with her second child by showing off her svelte figure in a racy swimsuit on the French Riviera Tuesday. Tom Cruise's third wife was reported to be in the early stages of pregnancy after she appeared to be sporting a rounded stomach as she left a Madrid, Spain restaurant after dining with celebrity pals David Beckham and Victoria Beckham on Sunday. The couple, who wed last November, already have a 14-month-old daughter Suri, while Cruise has two adopted children Isabella and Connor, from his second marriage to Nicole Kidman. Following the pregnancy reports yesterday, Holmes flashed her slim figure to onlooking paparazzi as she played with Suri in the sea at the Cap D'Antibes beach resort. The couple's spokesperson says, "They are not expecting their second child."

'Nightmare on Elm Street' Director Sues Shore Over Landslide

Horror movie mogul Wes Craven is suing funnyman Pauly Shore over a landslide at his Hollywood home. The Nightmare On Elm Street filmmaker claims Shore failed to maintain his garden, which backs onto Craven's property, and the Encino Man star's inactivity led to a landslide. In papers filed in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and obtained by Tmz.com, Craven states, "water from the Shore Property intruded and infiltrated the Craven Property causing a slope failure/landslide." Craven claims the neighborhood disaster took place last December, adding he "will continue to suffer severe emotional distress and anxiety." The director is seeking unspecified damages.

Clinton Recruits 'The Sopranos' for Campaign Ad

U.S. Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has recruited The Sopranos to help her win votes. The former First Lady is poking fun at the recent finale of the mob drama by re-enacting the series climax with husband Bill Clinton for a light-hearted TV campaign ad and she even persuaded Sopranos regular Vincent Curatola to join her. In the video spoof, the Clintons, both huge fans of the show, are browsing a menu in a diner - just like Tony and Carmela Soprano were at the end of the TV series - when Curatola, who played mob boss Johnny Sack on the show, walks past and gives the politician a filthy look. And Clinton's mob drama ties don't end there - Allen Coulter, who directed several episodes of the hit show, was the man behind the camera for the campaign ad.

Williams Keen To Return to Iraq

Funnyman Robin Williams is planning a second trip to perform for troops stationed in Iraq because rehab forced him to pull the plug on his most recent invite. Williams was a big hit when he first performed for the soldiers and he has been keen to return ever since - but his battle with alcoholism got in the way. He says, "I was in rehab the last time it came up and so it was a little difficult to go, but I'll probably try and go back in the fall. The heavily-armed audiences are amazing." But Williams admits it's often tough to be funny in a place where his audience is desperate not to be there. He adds, "There's a lot of people there who have volunteered and been there way beyond their tours of duty. That's what p**ses me off. There are guys who are broke and who are having their houses repossessed back home and there family's in debt, and they don't let them go home because they can't. Meanwhile, they're in a place where there's nowhere that's safe. Everywhere can be bombed or detonated."

Simpson Slims Down

Jessica Simpson has stunned fans by shedding an estimated 25 pounds in a month. The pop star/actress hired celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak to help her get back in shape after a little careless eating left sexy Simpson feeling fat. Pasternak put his star client on a strict 1,300-calorie-a-day diet, delivering his own nutritional meals to her doorstep. The trainer's 5-Factor Diet and Fitness plan has also been adopted by Vanessa Williams, Katherine Heigl and Simpson's on-off boyfriend John Mayer. Pasternak admits he's impressed with Simpson's weight loss: "We're making Jessica taut and toned without taking away her femininity."

Kelly Rowan Engaged

The O.C. star Kelly Rowan is engaged to the richest man in Canada and plans to marry him before the end of 2007. The 41-year-old beauty, who played Kirsten 'Kiki' Cohen on the now-defunct TV show, will wed media mogul David Thomson, 50, later this year. The couple met in Toronto, Canada last year, reports website People.com. Billionaire Thomson is the 10th richest man in the world, according to Forbes magazine.
