Network Planning Return for 'Jericho'?

TV drama Jericho may have a future after all - the CBS network is reportedly reviewing its decision to scrap the show after a sustained internet campaign. Appalled by the decision to scrap the cult series last month, which follows the fortunes of a community trying to survive after a nuclear attack, superfan Jeff Knoll linked up with online company NutsOnline.com to let TV bosses know just what he thought of them. Other fans caught wind of Knoll's idea, and so far nearly 20,000 pounds (of nuts have been sent to various network executives in New York and Los Angeles. Talks with cast members are now reportedly under way, with a view to making seven more episodes. In a statement, Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, said the network had been "humbled" and was hoping "to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story."

Gooding Jr. Saves Gunshot Victim

Movie star Cuba Gooding Jr. turned real-life hero last week when he helped save the life of a gunshot victim. The Oscar winner rushed to the aid of the bleeding man, believed to be in his 20s, after hearing gunshots from his car, parked outside a Hollywood restaurant. An eyewitness tells the New York Daily News, "Cuba was picking up dinner for his family on the night of Memorial Day. He saw a young kid holding his head and walked toward him. The kid was bleeding from his neck and collapsed." After calling for towels to stem the victim's bleeding, Gooding Jr. hailed a passing police car and waited at the scene until an ambulance arrived. Gooding Jr.'s rep, Nancy Kane, confirmed the story. It is believed the victim's condition has improved in hospital.

Sizemore Surrenders to Court

Tom Sizemore has surrendered to a Los Angeles court after an arrest warrant was issued to determine whether crystal methamphetamine charges leveled against the actor last month violated the terms of a 2004 drug conviction. The Los Angeles District Attorney is seeking to revoke Sizemore's probation, ordered after he pleaded guilty to drug possession last year, and is recommending Sizemore spend 16 months in prison. The Saving Private Ryan was taken into custody when cops searched a car he was sitting in outside a hotel in Bakersfield, California on May 8, allegedly finding two bags of the drug and pipes. On May 22 in a Bakersfield court, Sizemore pleaded not guilty to one count each of transportation and possession of methamphetamines, and three counts of possession of prescription drugs without the proper prescription. The 45-year-old is due in court for a preliminary hearing on June 18.

Dina Lohan Lied About Professional Dancer Past?

Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina Lohan lied about being a professional dancer with prestigious stage group The Rockettes, according to reports. An investigation carried out by The New York Post found no trace of the star's mom during a thorough search of the dance group's records - and it seems the famous mother also made up her claims she appeared in the theatre and television ads. A source tells the paper, "It's like claiming to have a degree from Harvard when you don't. It's a big deal to be a Rockette... Look in SAG (Screen Actors Guild). Look in AFTRA (American Federation of Television & Radio Artists). Dina isn't a member... She never did a Broadway show. She never did ads."

Larry David Splits From Wife

Funnyman Larry David has confirmed he has split from Laurie, his wife of 14 years. It was reported the pair's marriage was in trouble in yesterday's New York Post's Page Six column - but a spokesperson for the pair has made the split official. Heather Lylis said the split "very amicable and ... they're going to continue to raise their two (daughters) together as friends." David co-created the hugely successful TV show Seinfeld, before finding fame on the other side of the camera in Curb Your Enthusiasm, which he wrote and starred in. Laurie David has found success of her own as an environmental campaigner and the producer of documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

Kathy Hilton: "Jail Will Make Paris a Better Person"

Paris Hilton's mother Kathy is adamant her daughter will emerge from her 23-day prison term "a better person" and is doing everything she can to support the jailed heiress. The Simple Life star began her jail term at the Century Regional Detention Center on Sunday night, after violating her probation following a 2006 drunk-driving arrest. And while Kathy Hilton was fighting back the tears as she accompanied the 26-year-old to jail at the weekend, she is confident Paris will learn from her mistakes. Hilton's publicist Elliot Mintz tells the New York Post, "Kathy is very emotional. She wanted to exhibit strength for her daughter. She thought it was the most important thing to do. She thinks Paris will emerge from this a better person."

Simpson & Mayer Split Again?

Singer/actress Jessica Simpson's on/off relationship with rocker John Mayer has ended. The couple announced their split last month but have since reconciled. However, they have now reportedly separated again. A source tells website People.com, "They broke up Sunday night, but who knows what the future will hold. This is the twelfth time they've broken up. Their relationship is volatile. Last week they felt better than ever. This week, things are rocky. Who knows what the future will bring."

Hasselhoff Custody Battle Continues

Actor David Hasselhoff's ongoing custody wrangle with ex-wife Pamela Bach is still nowhere near resolution - the pair have been instructed to return to court next week. Both the Baywatch star and Bach are seeking custody of their daughters Hayley, 16, and Taylor-Ann, 14, and showed up for a private hearing in Los Angeles yesterday. However, discussions were deferred after just 90 minutes, and both parties expressed frustration at yet another delay to proceedings. Outside the court Hasselhoff told reporters, "They've continued the case until the 15th, but the judge asked me not to say anything." Bach's attorney Debra Opri complained, "There was just not enough time to discuss anything," while her client added simply, "I want resolution." Hasselhoff and Bach were married in 1989 but divorced last year and have been sharing custody since. Hasselhoff briefly lost the right to visit his daughters for two weeks last month after a video of the drunken actor hurling expletives to his teenage daughter was leaked onto the internet.

Knowles Fed Up With False Feud Reports

Beyonce Knowles is sick of reading about supposed feuds between herself and actress Jennifer Hudson. The sexy singer/actress, who starred alongside Hudson in last year's Dreamgirls, was previously said to be jealous of her co-star's success in the musical - but Knowles insists there is no truth to the reports. And she has chastised the press for always speculating of trouble when there are two African-American artists involved. She tells U.S. magazine Vibe, "I know there's a typical rumor every single time I'm involved with any African-American female. Before I even meet them I know the rumor, because that's just - it is what it is. It's society, and it has nothing to do with me. It's very unfortunate... But that's against everything I stand for. I always support women. I love women, and I'm a successful woman, so I embrace talent. It's frustrating to me. But what do I do? I've worked with Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, and they don't start that. Whenever it's two black women it's... unfortunate."

Willis' Webcam Surprise for One Lucky Fan

Action star Bruce Willis surprised film fans when he went on a web-chat site to talk about his latest movie. The Hollywood tough guy posted messages on film site aintitcoolnews.com promoting new release Live Free Or Die Hard, which he reprises his role as John McClane. But when one film fan refused to believe it was his movie hero Willis entered an iChat videoconferencing conversation with him. And despite coming face to face with the star on webcam, Willis had to show his tattoos to the skeptical fan before he fully believed it was him. Willis told fans he posted on the website because he felt "a strong pull" to hear from his audience. He wrote, "I am John Maf**kin Clane. What if I came to you all just as a guy (who) merely wished to have an outlet to chat with people I seldom get to chat with. And what if I just listened?"

Jolie: "Relationship With Brad Was a Gamble"

Angelina Jolie insists her relationship with Brad Pitt was a gamble that paid off, despite the odds stacked against two Hollywood superstars maintaining a steady romance. Jolie and Pitt started dating shortly after shooting on Mr. & Mrs. Smith wrapped. Speaking in the upcoming issue of U.S. magazine Marie Claire, Jolie says, "I think we both went on a lot of faith - we really did. Our family has grown very quickly, and we have a lot of responsibility together, and we acknowledge that we are lucky we turned out be for each other everything we'd hoped. We could have been very wrong, but every challenge we hit has brought us closer. It has been that kind of relationship."
