Knightley to Play Princess Diana?

Actress Keira Knightley is being lined up to play Diana, Princess of Wales in a movie based on the late British royal's life. A controversial book, Diana and the Paparazzi, is at the center of a bidding war at this year's Cannes Film Festival in France. Film producer Quentin Reynolds, who is bidding for the rights, hopes the movie adaptation will be as popular at the box office as The Queen, which won Dame Helen Mirren a Best Actress Oscar. He says, "Already the word in Hollywood is 'get Knightley'. It's a story that has everything: pathos, tragedy, comedy, adventure...and Princess Diana. For every pound The Queen makes, a film about Diana will make ten."

Lohan Loses Sponsors for 21st Birthday

Vodka company Svedka has reportedly pulled out as sponsors of Lindsay Lohan's 21st birthday party in Las Vegas this summer . The Mean Girls actress, who has attended Alcoholics Anonymous in the past, had teamed up with the drinks company for her glitzy two-day bash on July 2, but it appears Svedka has had second thoughts about their involvement in the celebrations, according to the New York Daily News. Other sponsors for the landmark birthday celebrations include Pure nightclub, Caesars Palace and the Social House restaurant at Treasure Island.

Barton Rushed to Hospital

Actress Mischa Barton was rushed to hospital last night, after suffering a bad reaction to medication. The former O.C. star had been enjoying herself at a friend's Memorial Day barbecue in Los Angeles, but began feeling ill after having a few cocktails, reports TMZ.com. She was taken to a local hospital before doctors sent her home with strict instructions to rest. A representative for the 21-year-old said Barton was at home with family and is "feeling much better".

Voight's Renewed Worry for Jolie's Health

Angelina Jolie's continuing grief over the death of her mother is putting a huge strain on her health, the actress' brother claims. Jolie's mom, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away in January after a long battle with cancer. The Mr. and Mrs. Smith actress recently broke down in a TV interview as she spoke about her late mother, and brother James Haven Voight is worried Jolie is letting the bereavement take over her life. He tells British magazine Closer, "She exhausts herself and at the moment she has a very low resistance level because she misses our mother so much and just longs for her all the time." Voight also reveals Jolie's visits to less developed countries in her role as a United Nations ambassador has significantly affected her eating habits. He adds, "Angie visited Ethiopia and it changed her life. It's hard for her to go home to a very expensive restaurant and order freely."

'Family Guy' Lawsuit Dismissed

A Los Angeles federal judge has thrown out a comedienne's lawsuit over the use of her cleaning woman character in hit animated TV show Family Guy. Carol Burnett's $2 million copyright infringement suit, filed in March , maintained the Fox show didn't have her permission to include her Charwoman character in an April 2006 episode. It depicted the character as a cleaning woman in a sex shop and also used a version of the theme music to her old TV series without permission, her lawsuit claimed. However, U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson revealed on Friday he planned to throw out the suit against 20th Century Fox. He will issue a final ruling later.

Burton Bringing Manson/von Teese Relationship to the Big Screen?

Director Tim Burton is so fascinated by Marilyn Manson's relationship with his estranged wife Dita Von Teese, he is planning to turn the failed marriage into a movie. Burton is reportedly in talks with the shock rocker to document his life with burlesque dancer Von Teese and bring it to the big screen. He says, "I'm fascinated by Dita and Marilyn. They're like a living Brothers Grimm fairytale."

Dunst to Make Directorial Debut

American actress Kirsten Dunst has signed a deal to step behind the camera and direct her first movie. The star will make a short film based on a ghost story sent to a US women's magazine by a reader. The 25-year-old says of the project, "They've giving me carte blanche. "I pick everyone I want to collaborate with. "I've always been a fan of Roman Polanski and, you know, Repulsion with Catherine Deneuve and Rosemary's Baby. We just don't make movies like that any more."

Pennington Pleads No Contest to Drunk Driving Charges

TV lifestyle king Ty Pennington has pleaded no contest to charges of drunk driving. The TV handyman, who fronts hit reality show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, was arrested on May 5th after Los Angeles police caught him driving while twice over the legal blood alcohol limit. The shamed star has already apologized for his foolish decision, stating, "Drinking and driving is never acceptable." Speaking after his court appearance yesterday , Pennington told TMZ.com, "I hope this experience can help others as much as it has helped me." Pennington was initially charged with two counts of DUI. After recording his plea, the second charge was dropped.

Willis Defends Wiseman Choice for 'Die Hard 4'

Movie star Bruce Willis has defended his directorial choice in Die Hard sequel, Live Free Or Die Hard, insisting Len Wiseman provided a "great collaboration". The actor reprises his role as police officer John McClane in the upcoming movie, but critics aren't convinced the 34-year-old Underworld director has the experience to do justice to the franchise. However, Willis tells British film magazine Empire, "You know, Len Wiseman did a great job. He was a little kid running around the backyard when we did the first film but he was a fan. He actually made a film when he was 15 that was his version of Die Hard. On set I'd give him the gun and say, 'Show me how to do a 1986 Die Hard.' "I told Len early on that I was the keeper of the keys to this film, and he wanted that. There wasn't anyone else on the set that worked on all four films, so he came to me a lot of times and said, 'What do you think?' It was a great collaboration."

Game Show Star Reilly Dies

Award-winning actor and game show regular Charles Nelson Reilly has died in Los Angeles. He was 76. Reilly, known for his flamboyant dress sense and candid acknowledgment of his homosexuality, began acting in New York, taking classes alongside future screen icon Steve McQueen. He went on to win a Tony Award for his 1962 Broadway show How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and was nominated for numerous others, before becoming a regular on quiz shows such as Hollywood Squares and Match Game. In 2001 the star, who was also a regular on The Tonight Show, admitted his appearances on such shows left him typecast, saying, "You can't do anything else once you do game shows. You have no career." Reilly's partner, Patrick Hughes confirmed details of his death on Friday following a year long illness.
