Tattoo Witness: "Spears on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown"

Britney Spears is "on the verge of a nervous breakdown" a tattooist who witnessed her shocking Friday makeover maintains. The singer and mother of two stunned fans and paparazzi photographers when she walked into a hairdressing salon in Los Angeles and asked a stylist to cut all her hair off. When the hairdresser refused, Spears grabbed some clippers, and can be seen in snaps shearing herself bald. The 25-year-old was then followed as she drove to a tattoo parlor and had two images etched; a pair of bright red lips on her wrist and a black, white and pink cross on her lower hip. Tattooist Emily Wynne-Hughes, who was in the shop, now fears the drastic new look is a stark warning of Spears' emotional instability. She says, "After (Britney) left, we said to each other, 'We just saw a huge celebrity on the verge of a nervous breakdown.' She seemed really distraught and disturbed. She was very scatterbrained. It was crazy, very surreal. She's definitely crying out." Unconfirmed press reports claim the singer was later spotted wearing a dark wig at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, where she briefly spoke to staff in a private room.

Lohan Parties After Being Released from Rehab

Lindsay Lohan wasted no time getting back to her hard-partying lifestyle after a stint in rehab - she was spotted out in Los Angeles the night before her treatment ended. The actress officially checked out of the Wonderland Center in the Hollywood Hills after completing a 30 day stay on Friday. The night before being released from the facility, Lohan was spotted partying at Hollywood nightclub Teddy's. The star's publicist, Leslie Sloane-zelnick, confirms Lohan finished her treatment telling entertainment news show Access Hollywood, "She will continue as an outpatient. She will take it day by day. She's in it for the long haul, and she asks that her privacy be respected." The 20-year-old, who is not legally allowed to drink in the US, was photographed late Friday night at Los Angeles club Les Deux. The Mean Girls star was seen chatting with Justin Timberlake in the parking lot just as he was leaving the club. Lohan checked herself into rehab in early January after reports surfaced she had passed out at a post-Golden Globes party.

Abdul: "I've Never Been Drunk"

American Idol judge Paula Abdul was devastated by reports last month she was inebriated during a series of TV interviews because she claims to never have been drunk in her life. Video clips of the 44-year-old popped up all over the internet showing her squirming in her seat and slurring her words during promotional appearances for the new season of the show. She tells American publication Us Weekly, "I've never been drunk. I have never done recreational drugs. Just look at my 20-year career. Tell me someone who is into partying and or doing drugs that could have done that." The singer does admit she has used prescription drugs in the past to treat inflammatory arthritis and a condition called reflex sympathetic dystrophy. American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe confirms Abdul's claims adding, "She certainly doesn't do social drugs or even drink."

Chinese Film Takes Berlin's Top Honor

The Chinese New Year got off to a spectacular start in Berlin when director Wang Quan'an was awarded the film festival's top honor, the Golden Bear, for Tuya's Marriage. The Chinese movie, which is set in Inner Mongolia, was named on Saturday. A thrilled Wang said, "A very beautiful dream has become reality for me here. Perhaps this is the last glance at the herds people of the region. Ultimately they are going to disappear into the cities. I think that it is important, particularly in this time when the economy is booming, to ponder and reflect on what we're losing." US-born Israeli Joseph Cedar took Best Director for his war drama Beaufort at the film festival, while Best Actor and Actress prizes went to Julio Chavez (The Other) and Nina Hoss (Yella) respectively. Actor-turned-moviemaker Robert De Niro also had a share of the accolades - The Good Shepherd, his drama on the origins of the CIA intelligence service, won for Outstanding Artistic Contribution.

Smith's Remains Finally Embalmed

Former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith's body was finally embalmed on Saturday, more than a week after her death. The 39-year-old was embalmed at the Broward County Medical Examiner's office by two morticians from Aycock Funeral Home in Jupiter, Florida. The process was delayed another day after Judge Larry Seidlin ordered on Friday that mortuary workers sign a confidentiality agreement to protect Smith's dignity in death. The process finally began on Saturday at 9:15am local time and took two hours and 45 minutes. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Perper and his chief investigator, Edwina Johnson, were present during the procedure. Perper tells the New York Daily News, "Two embalmers did the work. The body was put in a black plastic bag and sealed with evidence tape. It's in a refrigerator under lock and key." The pathologist said there were "some minor deterioration changes" but insisted they won't affect her viewing appearance. Perper added, "She was a beautiful person. She's going to look like she looked in life." Smith's companion Howard K. Stern, is set to testify in a Fort Lauderdale courtroom on Tuesday about her wishes to be buried in the Bahamas alongside her late son, Daniel. Meanwhile, Smith's estranged mother, Virgie Arthur, is also fighting for her remains and wants her daughter to be buried in her native Texas.

Fiennes Flight Attendant "Admits Toilet Tryst"

Friends of the flight attendant at the centre of Ralph Fiennes' airborne sex scandal insist she did have sex with the actor in the aircraft toilet. The British actor caused controversy late last month on a long-haul journey from Australia to India when he reportedly "became amorous" with 38-year-old Qantas stewardess Lisa Robertson, who has been suspended from the company while an investigation takes place. Robertson revealed to friends she had been the one to initiate sexual intercourse - contradicting her official statement of events to employer Quantas - leading Fiennes to the toilet after they enjoyed an intimate conversation. She says, "I've always fancied him and to see him on my flight was a real thrill. I reached down for his hand and told him to follow me. We went into the toilet and locked the door and off came much of our clothes." In a statement to her bosses, Robertson claimed the Maid In Manhattan actor followed her into the lavatory where she rejected his advances before eventually convincing him to leave.

Timberlake and Diaz Reunite?

Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz have sparked reports they are reconciling after leaving a West Hollywood club together on Friday night. The couple called it quits last month after nearly four years together but reunited briefly at the Whiskey Bar in the Sunset Marquis Hotel. An eyewitness tells American publication People that Timberlake had joined director Martin Scorsese and about eight other people at a table inside the hotel's exclusive bar. The singer chatted briefly with Scorsese, who directed Diaz in Gangs Of New York, and others at the table until 1am, when Diaz arrived. The source says, "Cameron never joined their table. She just showed up and Justin got up and started talking to her. They were being very discreet. They weren't kissing or holding hands or anything, but they were being very friendly." The couple then walked out the front door together half-an-hour later. Timberlake has recently been romantically linked with Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel, while Diaz was spotted getting cozy with Blood Diamond star Djimon Hounsou on Thursday night at Hollywood hotspot Hyde.
