Brandy Sued by Crash Victim's Parents

Brandy is being sued for $50 million by the family of a woman killed in a car crash that's being blamed on the singer/actress. Awatef Aboudihaj's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit at Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday after police recommended the singer be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. Their 38-year-old daughter was killed in a four-car freeway crash in California on December 30. The California Highway Patrol has ruled Brandy was at fault because she failed to prevent her Land Rover from hitting the car in front when traffic slowed down. The Aboudihajs' lawsuit accuses Brandy - real name Brandy Norwood - of "reckless driving" and seeks $50 million in compensatory and punitive damages. If found guilty of criminal charges, Brandy faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The 27-year-old last week issued a statement through her publicist offering her condolences to Aboudihaj's family.

Police Confirm Grammy Awards Appearance

Rock band The Police have confirmed they will open the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next Sunday - fueling speculation they are planning a reunion tour. The hitmakers have so far refused to confirm rumors they are reforming to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of their massive selling song "Roxanne." A Recording Academy spokesperson says, "The Police join a stellar list of past Grammy Awards opening acts, which includes reunions and once-in-a-lifetime performances." The 1980s super group - featuring Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers - broke up in 1984 but reformed briefly in 2003 to celebrate their inclusion into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. This will be the first time the Grammy winning band have performed at the prestigious music show.

Raunchy Radcliffe Pictures Upset Parents

Naked pictures of Daniel Radcliffe to promote a new play are causing controversy among fans of the Harry Potter movies. The young star peels off his top half and cuddles up with a topless co-star in the promotional snaps for his London West End run in Equus. The pictures have already become popular among young female fans of the 17-year-old - most famous for his role in the boy wizard franchise. But parents are up in arms and are bombarding Harry Potter fansites with emails. One reads, "We as parents feel Daniel should not appear nude. Our nine-year-old son looks up to him as a role model. We are very disappointed and will avoid the future movies he makes." Radcliffe's spokesperson Vanessa Davies tells British newspaper the Daily Mail, "Daniel does not want to step away from Harry Potter but he does want to show he is a rounded actor capable of very different roles. He has tremendous support from Harry Potter fans." The play, written by Peter Shaffer, opens in London on February 27.

Hilton Sues Website

Paris Hilton is suing the website that has published naked photos of her, in an attempt to shut it down. Visitors to ParisExposed.Com are able to pay to view raunchy snaps, home videos, diary entries and pictures of the heiress' passport and personal belongings, obtained from a storage container. The items were sold at auction by the storage firm, who claimed its fees hadn't been paid for two years - but Hilton alleges a removal company was supposed to pay. The "shocked and surprised" 25-year-old claims the belongings were put into storage in 2005 after she and sister Nicky moved out of a house that had been burgled. A court statement from Hilton, part of a lawsuit filed yesterday in Los Angeles, reads, "I was appalled to learn that people are exploiting me and my sisters' private personal belongings for commercial gain." Hilton is calling for the closure of the website on the grounds it invades her privacy and exposes her and Nicky to people who could "to steal my identity, or even worse, to harass or stalk me." She has filed copyright registrations for three writings among her belongings, and accuses the website of copyright infringement. The lawsuit alleges the items were bought by Nabil and Nabila Haniss for $2,775 and sold to Bardia Persa for $10 million.

Lange: "Being Anti-Bush Is Dangerous for My Health"

Jessica Lange is determined to carry on her anti-war and anti-President George W. Bush stance - even though it almost cost her her life. The actress has opposed the war since US troops first went into Iraq, and she reveals her views have made her a hate target for pro-war, pro-Bush Americans. The 57-year-old says, "George W. Bush really has whipped up the most poisonous scenario of neighbor against neighbor over the war in Iraq. It's disgusting. There were times when it was really lovely to be out there and against the war. But then I had anti-war stickers on my car and some big f**king pick-up with an American flag tried to drive me off the road. It was scary and I was scared." She even accuses the media of picking on her, adding, "My anti-war work started four years ago when the drums were beating. The few of us who really spoke out at the time took such a beating in the press - even the liberal press - and on CNN; I was on a CNN news program with an arms inspector who had been in Iraq, and we were treated like s**t."

Taylor Reveals First Husband Hilton Was a "Cruel" Drunk

Movie icon Elizabeth Taylor has exposed her first husband, Conrad Hilton Jr., as a "cruel" drunk in a new magazine interview. The actress was a teenager when she exchanged vows with the hotel heir in 1950 and was so smitten with the handsome socialite she studied Catholicism to be his wife. But she admits she never took the union seriously enough and divorced Hilton, who is the uncle of Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton's father, nine months later - after discovering he had a drinking problem. Revealing all in a candid new expose with Interview editor Ingrid Sischy, the actress recalls, "When I got a divorce... I never told the court why, but he was cruel. When he drank it all came out, and I hadn't seen that before because he was on the wagon the eight months we were engaged. I didn't have a clue. But I thought, 'This isn't why God put me on earth.'" Taylor, who wed another seven times, had an inkling her first marriage wouldn't work out as she stood before the archbishop on her big day. She adds, "When I had to swear in front of the archbishop to be a good wife and all that stuff, I had my fingers crossed behind my back because I didn't know if I could be a good wife."

Diamond Causes Chaos on Reality Show

Former Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond has been "quarantined" from the rest of the cast of US reality series Celebrity Fit Club after fighting with fellow contestants. Diamond got into a very public row with former American Idol contestant Kimberley Locke, which caused her and 1980s pop singer Tiffany to storm off the set. After the women walked off the program, producers halted production and sent the cast home. During the heated argument Diamond allegedly said, "Screw Kimberley Locke. I'm going to make a dildo of my c**k and f**k her with it." After Locke gave producers a "him or me" ultimatum, they decided to exile Diamond from other cast members. An on-set source tells PerezHilton.com, "He will not participate in the challenges and will have a private weigh-in for this weekend's upcoming filming. Unfortunately, there are only three more tape-days left over the next 30 days. So it was too late to replace him." Diamond, who played Screech in the TV series, made headlines last year when he starred in a raunchy sex tape which showed him engaging in sex with two women.

Lopez Ex Ordered Into Arbitration

Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband Ojani Noa has been ordered to go into arbitration with the superstar to discuss the book he has written about their marriage. Court documents reveal the ghost-written text alleges Lopez regularly cheated on him during their 11-month marriage, including one affair with Marc Anthony - to whom she is now married. Lopez filed a breach of contract lawsuit last year when she discovered his plans to publish the book. She also obtained a restraining order preventing Noa from publishing intimate details about their sex life together and sought arbitration. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Victor Person Monday agreed with Lopez's legal team that Noa is required to enter into arbitration under the terms of a previous lawsuit that was settled in October 2005. Noa is furious about the decision, insisting he wants a public trial. He told Judge Person, "Basically, they were trying to damage my name and my career, now they want to go private in arbitration." Both sides are due back in court on July 30 to reveal the progress of arbitration.

His new single, "All My Life," is being released as a download next week on website People.com. The tune will then be sold exclusively via Apple's iTunes Music Store from February 20.
