Lohan in Rehab

Lindsay Lohan has checked herself into rehab. The actress/singer has confirmed Internet reports she is seeking counseling to tame her wild ways. In a statement, released yesterday through her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, Lohan announced, "I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time." The famous party animal, who was spotted at Prince's Golden Globes Awards post-show bash in Beverly Hills on Monday night, started attending Alcoholic Anonymous meetings last month - and late last year was caught up in an overdose riddle after a doctor was called to her suite at Los Angeles hotel the Chateau Marmont. She made light of the incident, stating she was no "Marilyn Monroe, overdosing in the bathroom." A pal of the Mean Girls star recently turned to the US tabloids to reveal the extent of the young star's wild life, in an effort to curb her wild ways. The rehab news caps a terrible start to the New Year for Lohan - just two weeks ago she underwent an operation to remove her appendix.

Knight: "Washington Did Use the 'F' Word"

Gay Grey's Anatomy star TR Knight has labeled castmate Isaiah Washington a liar after speaking out about the actor's 'f****t' slur at Monday night's Golden Globes. Washington stunned castmates in the press room at the Golden Globe Awards when he grabbed a microphone and insisted he never used the derogatory word on the set, later calling it "vile." But angry Knight, who revealed his homosexuality after word spread of Washington's outburst towards him, and Washington's subsequent on-set fight with fellow TV surgeon Patrick Dempsey, is keen to set the record straight. During a taping of Ellen DeGeneres' talk show, which aired yesterday, Knight revealed Washington did use the 'f' word. The actor said, "He referred to me as a f****t... Everyone heard it... I've never been called that to my face. I think, when that happened, something shifted and it became bigger... than myself... I could've just let it slide and not said anything but it became important." Knight admits he was stunned when Washington used the 'f' word again on Monday night - in an effort to insist he had never used the term. He adds, "He denied that he said it... I don't know what to say, really, about that... but it's pretty bad." Knight's pals are on his side - cast mate Katherine Heigl fought back angry tears during an interview on US news show Access Hollywood after Washington's Golden Globes gaffe, and hissed, "He needs to just not speak in public. Period."

'Borat' Pal Snubbed by Awards Show

Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat co-star Ken Davitian wasn't invited to the Golden Globe Awards ceremony on Monday night, but ended up stealing the show. The pair star in the hit film, Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan, and share a memorable scene where they wrestle on a bed naked. Davitian was spotted by a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the Beverly Hilton Hotel the afternoon of the awards show, who insisted on giving him a tour of the ballroom set-up. The star explains, "He asked me where I was sitting later, and I told him I didn't have a ticket. Immediately, he ran and got me two tickets." At the ceremony, Davitian met up with Cohen backstage, where the pair worked on the hilarious acceptance speech that Cohen used when he won best actor in a comedy or musical. Cohen described being face-to-face with Davitian's "dark side", his anus and testicles, and the horror of breathing in air from a "rancid pocket."

Mirren Refuses Alcohol at Award Shows

Dame Helen Mirren refuses to battle awards show nerves with alcohol - because she is afraid she'll embarrass herself. The British star, who picked up two Golden Globe Awards on Monday night for her performances in The Queen and Elizabeth I, admits she gets tipsy easily, and would never want to appear intoxicated onstage - even though a few glasses of wine would help calm her nerves. She explains, "It's a bit of a roller coaster ride... and you can't drink. I can't anyway. I'm too scared to drink and then make a t*t of myself. It's much too scary to do that. Some of the award shows you do there is alcohol on the table, there's wine and things. You have one afterwards and drown your sorrows usually. I've lost a lot of awards in my life. I'm brilliant at going, 'Oh, I'm so glad she won! She's fantastic! I'm a worm by comparison! I don't deserve it at all! I don't know why I'm here!'" Mirren also refuses to eat at glitzy awards shows, adding, "You're too nervous and excited and insecure; you don't want beans in your teeth."

Cox and Pitt Call Truce

Jennifer Aniston's best friend Courteney Cox and her ex-husband Brad Pitt have called a truce after speaking at the Golden Globe Awards on Monday night. Cox and her husband David Arquette were close friends with the former couple and Arquette spoke about Pitt on the Howard Stern radio show last week. Arquette said at the time, "When the marriage ended, it was sad. I love Brad, he's a great guy. He did some stuff that hurt our friend, but you know..." Cox and Arquette approached Pitt on a balcony designated for smokers at the awards show and Pitt responded by giving Cox a bear hug and saying, "Hello, sweetheart. It is so great to see you!" The group chatted about their children, with Pitt quipping, "We did Finding Nemo, but they've been off that for a while. We have a five-year-old!" Jolie, who was standing a few steps away, eventually came over and said an awkward hello, before leading Pitt back to the party.

Timberlake and Diaz in Post-Awards Show Spat

Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz's amicable split took a turn for the worse on Monday night when the former couple had a heated public argument at Prince's Golden Globes afterparty. The pair released a joint statement last week announcing they were no longer together after dating for nearly four years. The exes chatted politely during the actual awards ceremony and even shared laughs at InStyle magazine's annual afterparty. But things started to go badly later when Diaz approached Timberlake at Prince's Beverly Wilshire hotel bash, while the singer was chatting to actress Jessica Biel. Witnesses tell American publication People that Biel stepped away and the former couple were soon spotted in an intense 40-minute face-off in a side room. The Charlie's Angels star emerged from the room looking composed, but Timberlake was seen holding his head in his hands and, according to a witness, "slammed his fist into a cabinet."

Van Sant Pleads Not Guilty to Driving Charge

Movie maverick Gus Van Sant has pleaded not guilty to drunk driving charges in Oregon. The Good Will Hunting director was arrested late on December 21 in Portland after police discovered his alcohol limit was more than twice the legal state limit for motorists. In the police report of his arrest, officials claimed Van Sant had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and reeked of alcohol when he was pulled over for failing to turn his headlights on. He then failed a sobriety test. The moviemaker will now appear in court next month, when authorities will determine whether he should enter a diversion program. In the meantime, the My Own Private Idaho director has been told he must avoid alcohol.

Federline Pokes Fun at Himself in New Ad

Britney Spears' estranged husband Kevin Federline will poke fun at himself in a new US TV ad. The commercial for Nationwide Mutual Insurance - which will be shown during the during the American football event the Super Bowl - sees Federline rapping in a lavish music video before revealing he was just daydreaming at his fast food restaurant job. The aspiring rap star agreed to do the advert because he felt it was time people saw a different side to him. He says, "I felt that it was a good time to come out and make fun of myself. It really works for me. I try not to take myself too seriously." Federline's debut album Playing With Fire only sold 6,500 copies on its first week of release last year.

Spears Slams Pregnancy Reports

Pop star Britney Spears has slammed reports she is pregnant with her third child. The star's manager, Larry Rudolph, rubbishes the reports telling American publication Us Weekly that "Britney is not pregnant," calling a recent tabloid report claiming that Spears is expecting "absurd." Two months after splitting from husband Kevin Federline, the singer, 25, has moved on and is dating actor/model Isaac Cohen. Rudolph believes that the "ridiculous" report came from an incident last week, in which Cohen accidentally wiped peanut butter on his shirt while he was with Spears. Observers had wrongly concluded that she had vomited and assumed because she was vomiting, she must be experiencing morning sickness. He adds, "Because Isaac didn't lick the peanut butter off his fingers, someone decided that it must not be peanut butter, but must instead be Britney's vomit. Ridiculous!"
