Pregnant Cross Put On Bed Rest

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross has been forced to temporarily quit the show after doctors put her on bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy. The 44-year-old actress, who is expecting twins in April with new husband Tom Mahoney, will complete scenes for the current season of the drama from her home. Cross' publicist Heidi Slan says, "This is a precautionary measure only." Her bed rest means Cross will also miss the Golden Globe Awards on January 15. She is nominated as a Best Actress for her role as Bree Van De Camp on the popular series alongside previous Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Felicity Huffman.

Barrymore Splits with Strokes Drummer

Drew Barrymore has ended her relationship with boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti after nearly five years together. Barrymore, 31, appears on the cover of the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine gushing about her relationship with Moretti, 26, but friends claim their differences eventually drove them apart. A source close to the actress tells American publication Us Weekly, "Drew said they needed some time off." A friend of Moretti's confirms, "Fab is now living back in his old apartment." Rumors of a rift began in February 2005 when Barrymore was noticeably absent from Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas' wedding and a few months later the couple got into a very public argument in Santa Monica, California. A friend of Barrymore's explains, "He's younger, and she's more worldly. He doesn't like the Hollywood stuff. He doesn't get her friends." Although it looks like the relationship is over, there is still some hope of a reconciliation. The source adds, "She broke up with him twice before this. This is exactly what happened last time they took a break."

Evan Rachel Wood Linked to Manson

Teenage actress Evan Rachel Wood may have been a factor in rocker Marilyn Manson's recent marriage break-up, according to reports in the US. The 19-year-old's close relationship with the star is thought to have provoked Dita Von Teese to file for divorce last month. Manson, 38, and the Thirteen actress have been friends since the rocker asked her to appear in his upcoming horror film, Phantasmagoria: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll. She has also posed for a watercolor he painted. A source tells American publication People, "Dita is heartbroken, she didn't see this coming. His partying contributed to the split as well." Both Manson and Wood were unavailable for comment.

Cruz Slams Gay Rumors

Penelope Cruz has laughed off reports she is having a gay relationship with best pal Salma Hayek. The two have been close friends for the past six years and Hayek posed for a series of pictures for Cruz which were recently published in Interview magazine in the US. The pair also posed together for one provocative shot showing Cruz grabbing Hayek's backside, which fueled rumors that the two were romantically involved. The Vanilla Sky star appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday night, where she defended the photo when the host showed it to the audience. She explained, "You know what they've been saying because of that picture? We are like sisters and we have some sense of humor... We did that in front of 100 photographers and the story now is that apparently we are lovers. I'm sorry to say, that is not the case!"

Holmes Indulges In Shopping Spending Spree

Katie Holmes' passion for pricey designer clothes cost her $200,000 last year at one Beverly Hills department store alone. Tom Cruise's new bride was regularly photographed wandering around the posh Barneys New York department store while she was pregnant with the couple's baby daughter Suri. Sources tell American publication Us Weekly that the former Dawson's Creek star often asks the store to stay open for her after hours. The source explains, "She walks around with a personal shopper and points at what she wants. She orders different colors and a few of each. She's their favorite customer!" The 28-year-old regularly shops for designer footwear and spent $400 on two pairs of jeans in April and left with five bags' worth of baby clothes in November. Holmes representative denies that the star receives any special treatment, which a representative from Barney's confirms, saying, "We never have been asked to open a store for Katie Holmes after closing hours."

'Baywatch' Hunk Charvet Welcomes Baby Girl

Former Baywatch hunk David Charvet and his fiancee, model-turned-TV presenter Brooke Burke, are celebrating after becoming parents to baby Heaven Rain Charvet. The little girl was born in Santa Monica, California on Monday. It's the third child for 35-year-old Burke, who has two kids by former husband, TV plastic surgeon Garth Fisher. Burke's publicist Nancy Iannois says, "Mother and child are doing great and resting at home now. Brooke had a very smooth delivery, with her fiance David by her side. They are thrilled to be back at home now with their gorgeous baby girl. It's a very exciting time for them." Burke and Charvet were engaged last summer. They're planning to wed this spring.

Houston Auction Included Other People's Possessions

A high-profile auction featuring items owned by Whitney Houston actually included many possessions that didn't even belong to the singer. A New Jersey storage company applied for a court order to sell Houston's belongings after she failed to pay $150,000 in fees. According to PageSix.com, many of the items being stored were the property of former chief of Warner Music Michael Fuchs and TV network HBO. Fuchs decided to sell the contents of the warehouse after the star failed to make payments. Sources say the priciest possessions, including pianos, studio equipment and instruments, actually belonged to members of Houston's tour group. The source explains, "A lot of the items didn't even belong to her. They were owned by back-up musicians and small vendors." Fans snapped up hundred of items this week which they believed belonged to Houston, including a clear Schimmel grand piano which sold for $20,000.

Spears Dating Male Model

Pop star Britney Spears is dating 25-year-old male model and actor Isaac Cohen, according to media reports in the US. The star was spotted sailing around Marina Del Rey, California over the weekend on a private powerboat with her new companion. Cohen bears a striking resemblance to Spears' estranged husband Kevin Federline and dresses in a similar style, favoring low-slung jeans and a kerchief on his head. The bikini-clad mother-of-two seemed to be enjoying herself during the excursion, and the two shared several intimate moments. Cohen's agent at LA Models, Brandi Lord, has confirmed the romance to American publication People saying the couple's relationship began "recently...within the last month. He's got a great heart and a good family, and he was raised well. He's a gentleman." Lord insists Cohen isn't after the singer for her fame adding, "(He) is not a player. (He) is not out to get a name for himself."
