Lohan Parties After Appendix Surgery

A Prairie Home Companion actress Lindsay Lohan wasted no time hitting the town after having her appendix taken out - she was seen partying in Hollywood just days after undergoing surgery. The Mean Girls star had her appendix removed on Thursday and was photographed leaving a Los Angeles hospital on Friday morning. According to veteran Hollywood gossip columnist Janet Charlton, Lohan was seen dancing with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker until 5am Saturday morning at a West Hollywood party. Lohan was also seen drinking a clear substance from a water bottle and smoking in between dances.

O'Connell: "There Has Been No Wedding"

Actor Jerry O'Connell has laughed off internet reports he wed fiancee Rebecca Romijn at the weekend. Rumours about the ceremony plans spread over Christmas, but the Crossing Jordan star agreed to tape an interview with Us TV chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, which aired yesterday, to end the speculation. He says, "It's one of those internet rumors that starts and the only problem with those internet rumors (is) your mom finds out about it. Your mom calls up and is like, 'Jerry, Louise just told me that she read on the internet that you're getting married and I want to know if this is true because I wanna know why I don't know about this and have to find out about it on the internet.'" O'Connell insisted he would not be a married man when the chat show aired, but confessed he would wed Romijn "one of these days."

Smith Returns to United States

Troubled reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith has left the Bahamas and returned to the US, where she has been ordered to by a court to submit her baby daughter for DNA testing. The former Playboy Playmate is in a bitter custody battle with celebrity photographer Larry Birkhead, who claims he is the baby's father. Smith was seen at a boxing match in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday night, where she posed for photographs with professional wrestler Hulk Hogan. In a tribute to her two children, Smith unveiled a new image of her late son Daniel, which was tattooed on her left upper back, while new daughter Dannielynn's picture was tattooed on the right. Smith was accompanied by lawyer and companion Howard K. Stern, who she claims is the father of her baby.

Jolie Loves Adopted Children Differently

Angelina Jolie insists she has different feelings towards each of her kids and feels especially close to her adopted children because they've already led such a hard life. The Oscar winner has two adopted children with Brad Pitt, Maddox and Zahara, as well as their biological daughter Shiloh, who was born in May. Jolie tells Elle magazine that she's more partial towards her adopted children, saying, "I think I feel so much more for Mad and Z because they're survivors, they came through so much. Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born. I have less inclination to feel for her... I met my other kids when they were six months old, they came with personality. A newborn really is this... yes, a blob! But now she's starting to have a personality... I'm conscious that I have to make sure I don't ignore her needs just because I think the others are more vulnerable."

Crowe Slams Flight Attendant Abuse Claims

Oscar winner Russell Crowe has hit back at allegations he threw a fit over the in-flight food he was served on a private jet during a promotional tour for his latest film. A flight attendant who served the actor on a chartered jet claims he was furious when his wife Danielle Spencer was given the only serving of a satay chicken meal he had wanted while on a flight to promote the film A Good Year. Crowe's Los Angeles lawyers have issued a five-page denial slamming the allegations of the unnamed flight attendant who says Crowe became enraged when he woke up from a nap and realized his wife had nabbed his dinner request. In her claim the flight attendant explains, "He said to me, 'If I tell you I want something, you put it aside for me. Or wake me up. Is there some kind of language barrier here?'" The actor's attorney, John H. Lavely, has rubbished the allegations and insists the movie studio public relations sources have confirmed Crowe was "nothing less than a model citizen during the publicity tour." Crowe is renowned for his volatile temper - in 2005 he threw a phone at a hotel clerk in New York City after he was unable to place an international call to his wife back in Australia.

Bond Girl Green Nominated for BAFTA

New Bond girl Eva Green has been nominated for the Orange Rising Star Award at this year's British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards. The French beauty, who stars opposite Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, has been shortlisted for the coveted prize along with Ben Whishaw (Perfume), Cillian Murphy (The Wind That Shakes The Barley), Naomie Harris (Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest) and Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada). The award is given annually to a young actor or actress who has shown exceptional on-screen talent and the winner will be announced at the 2007 Bafta Awards, which takes place on February 11. Last year The Last King Of Scotland star James McAvoy picked up the prize.

Clarkson To Receive Top New Orleans Honor

Two-time Emmy Award winner Patricia Clarkson has been named the 2007 celebrity monarch for the Krewe Of Orpheus parade in New Orleans, Louisiana. A celebrity is chosen each year to lead the parade - founded by Harry Connick Jr. - and past monarchs have included Whoopi Goldberg, Glenn Close, Stevie Wonder, Toby Keith and James Brown. Clarkson and Connick Jr. are both natives of New Orleans. Krewe's captain Sonny Borey says, "As our city rebuilds and rediscovers itself, it could not be more fitting that Patricia Clarkson be honored by the Krewe Of Orpheus and our city." The Six Feet Under star will lead 30 floats in the parade, which is scheduled for February 19, one day before Mardi Gras celebrations on February 20.

Elvis Fans Given Glimpse of Nixon Meeting

A photo exhibition depicting Elvis Presley's meeting with former US President Richard Nixon almost 40 years ago opened to the public in California yesterday. The Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Birthplace is commemorating what would have been The King's 72nd birthday by allowing fans to see some of his most iconic pictures, including the moment he visited the White House. Their meeting on December 21, 1970 lasted just 30 minutes, however a photograph of the two men shaking hands remains the most requested document from the US National Archives. Bud Krogh, Nixon's former deputy counsel who set up the impromptu meeting, says, "The two of them together somehow is almost incomprehensible. The king of rock and the president of the United States shaking hands in the Oval Office doesn't compute for a lot of people." The museum's assistant director Sandy Quinn, adds, "We've known for years that that photograph is an icon image. It is The President and The King." Presley requested the meeting to discuss how he could help Nixon in the fight against drugs.

Club Owners Defend Spears' Promotional Appearance

Executives at a Las Vegas nightclub insist they are happy with Britney Spears' controversial New Year's Eve appearance, even though she made worldwide headlines for falling asleep. Media reports claimed bosses at Pure nightclub were furious with the star and were refusing to pay her $400,000 fee after she violated her contract. It was reported Spears collapsed and had to be carried out of the club, but her representative insists the mother-of-two merely feel asleep from exhaustion. But a spokeswoman for the club has slammed the speculation and tells the New York Daily News that Spears' payment was "less than half" of the reported $400,000 fee and that she wasn't penalized for leaving early. She adds, "Britney had a great time. We love her and can't wait for her to come back."

Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Dave Matthews will guest star as a musical prodigy on the hit US medical series House. The singer will play a savant and piano prodigy who comes under the care of Dr. Gregory House, played by British star Hugh Laurie.
