Moore Returns to Vanity Fair

Actress Demi Moore has once again made the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, this time posing in a sexy, white bathrobe. The 43-year-old Striptease star has appeared on several historic covers for the publication. She made headlines in August 1991 when she appeared on the cover nude when she was seven months pregnant with her daughter Scout and inspired many other pregnant celebrity mothers, such as Britney Spears, to later strike the same pose. The star caused more controversy when she appeared on the cover in August 1992, wearing only a 'suit' that was painted on her naked body. In the February issue of the magazine, Moore discusses her younger husband Ashton Kutcher and life with three teenage daughters.

Houston Items Being Auctioned To Settle "Unpaid" Bills

Hundreds of items owned by Whitney Houston are to be auctioned off by a New Jersey storage facility after claiming the singer hasn't paid her bills since 2005. Speed Of Sound applied for a court order to auction Houston's belongings after the star's company Nippy Inc. reportedly failed to pay storage costs of $150,000. Among the items being sold are designer clothing from Houston's 1999 My Love Is Your Love tour, a $292,500 grand piano, keyboard, drum kits, a forklift, a concert stage set and sound equipment. The sale takes place next Tuesday morning at AJ Willner Auctions in Irvington, New Jersey. Auctioneer Steve Newmark says, "It's a warehouse full of stuff from her shows. There's some pretty personal stuff in there. Even her underwear is in there. I was marveling at the waist of some of these clothes. They were pretty small. The auction is open to the public, but only for qualified buyers. We're probably going to combine a lot of the individual items, like the costumes. It's not for a teenage fan hoping to buy one of her trinkets." However, Houston's spokeswoman Nancy Seltzer claims many of the items are "not needed any more" and that, "She is selling equipment, as many artists do, that is out of date."
Oprah Defends Madonna Adoption

US talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has leaped to the defense of pop superstar Madonna, insisting her adoption of a Malawian tot was an "amazing" act. Winfrey visited Africa herself earlier this week to open a school for disadvantaged girls in South Africa and she can't understand why Madonna's charity to baby David Banda has received so much criticism in the press. Speaking on British current affairs show Newsnight yesterday Winfrey said, "I applaud Madonna. I think it's an amazing thing that she did, and it makes me sick that people criticize her, because there are millions of children in this world who will die because no one came to save them. I think she deserves praise and applause and not to be criticized." Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie were granted interim adoption of David in October.

Veteran US soap star Drake Hogestyn has filed a restraining order against a man who attacked him in his California home. The actor, who has played John Black on daytime soap Days Of Our Lives for over 20 years, claims Carl Raymond Cheney assaulted him and "physically tried to exorcise the devil from me." In court papers, obtained by website Tmz.com, Hogestyn reveals he was relaxing at home with his family when Oregon native Cheney found his way onto his property and charged at the actor's daughter. Hogestyn reveals Cheney was carrying a Bible and screaming, "Where is he? I will cast him out!" The actor adds Cheney was "calling me by my stage name... recalling past storylines, especially the demonic possession of several years past. But more important, he thought I was dead, because the show that aired on Friday 12.29.06 left my character John Black shot and presumed dead." Hogestyn spent 10 minutes grappling with Cheney until he and his 25-year-old son Ben were able to restrain him and call the police. When WENN went to press, Cheney was in custody at the Los Angeles County Jail on $150,000 bail.
