Richie On Her Way to Jail?

Nicole Richie could be on her way to jail if she's found guilty of driving under the influence following her arrest on Monday - because she already has a previous DUI conviction. The socialite admitted to highway patrol officers she had taken Vicodin and smoked marijuana before driving the wrong way on a Burbank, California freeway, and that confession could land her behind bars. News website Tmz.com has uncovered four-year-old court documents which reveal The Simple Life star pleaded no contest to driving under the influence in 2002. Under California law, if Richie is convicted of DUI as a result of her latest arrest, a judge must impose a mandatory jail sentence of five consecutive days. Richie was given three years probation for her 2002 DUI conviction and had her license suspended for one year. Six months later, Richie was arrested for possession of heroin and for driving with a suspended license.

Co-Stars Pay Tribute to Actor Boyle

Late Young Frankenstein star Peter Boyle is being remembered publicly by the cast of the Us TV comedy show that earned him seven straight Emmy nominations, as "a great dad." Brad Garrett and Doris Roberts who played Boyle's son and wife respectively in TV hit Everybody Loves Raymond have paid tribute to the 71-year-old actor, who died on Tuesday night after a long battle with heart disease and cancer. Garrett, 46, says, "I think of Peter and I smile. I laugh and I think about what I learned from him as an actor and a human being. He was a compassionate man and a great dad. I knew that he was ill but he was strong and he fought it. He's in a better place where he won't be suffering." Roberts, 76, adds, "He was quite ill, so it was not a surprise. When you work with someone for almost a decade it's like family. He was my great buddy. We loved him."

Sacha Baron Cohen Hit by New Lawsuit

Sacha Baron Cohen has been hit by a new lawsuit from a man who claims he was "accosted" by the British funnyman in character as Borat in a South Carolina restaurant last year. Footage of the incident, in which Cohen posed as a toilet attendant, did not feature in his hit movie Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan, but has appeared on the Comedy Central network and the internet. The plaintiff, who is not named in the lawsuit, accuses Cohen of invading his privacy by staring as he used a urinal. Staff at the Ristorante Divino told the man a tourist documentary was being shot on the premises but he did not see the hidden cameras in the toilet. The lawsuit makes no mention of a consent waiver and attorney Jonathan Milling insists his client was not paid. The plaintiff is seeking damages and an injunction to prevent footage appearing on future DVDs.

Breakthrough Awards for Hathaway, Biel and Hudson

Anne Hathaway has been named Star Of The Year at the Hollywood Magazine's Breakthrough Awards in Los Angeles. The actress won the prize for her role as a naive personal assistant in The Devil Wears Prada. Other Breakthrough Award winners were Jessica Biel for The Illusionist and Jennifer Hudson for Dreamgirls. A surprised Biel told the crowd in Los Angeles on Sunday, "They must have got the wrong person; they must be kidding!" And Hudson took a swipe at American Idol judge Simon Cowell, who she went up against as a contestant on the show, saying, "Just go see the movie… on Christmas, Simon!"

Romijn and O'Connell Set Wedding Date

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell have finally agreed to a wedding date, a year after getting engaged. The pair, who have been dating since 2004, will hold an intimate wedding ceremony at their ranch near Los Angeles on January 6. The X-Men: The Last Stand star, 34, who was previously married to John Stamos for almost six years, convinced her fiance to exchange vows at their Wagon Wheel Ranch - a former brothel. The small wedding will take place with only 20 close friends and family present. A friend of the couple tells American publication Star, "For Jerry, this will be his first marriage and he wanted to make it a big deal, but Rebecca held her ground." In order to keep her groom-to-be happy, Romijn has agreed to let O'Connell plan a big party a few weeks after the wedding to celebrate.

Kitaen Charges Dropped If She Completes Rehab

Actress Tawny Kitaen will complete a rehabilitation program in return for her freedom as prosecutors in Orange County, California agree to drop felony drug charges against her. The 45-year-old Bachelor Party star found herself in trouble with the law after Orange County Sheriff's Deputies allegedly found 15 grams of cocaine in her house last May. The cops called at her home after responding to an anonymous tip-off call asking them to check on Kitaen's young children. According to news website Tmz.com, the actress entered rehab immediately after the incident and she'll complete her course next summer. If everything goes to plan, all charges against her will be dropped then.

Campbell Cleared of Attacking Counselor

Troubled supermodel Naomi Campbell will not face charges following her October arrest for allegedly attacking her drug counselor. The 36-year-old beauty was taken into police custody in London on October 25 after her female therapist claimed she had been scratched in the face by Campbell. The Crown Prosecution Service have confirmed they will not press charges against Campbell. Speaking to British TV network Sky News, Campbell says, "What's awful about it is it's dropped - none of it was concrete evidence to be held. It was so hurtful, almost to the point of depressing, and that's what's awful about it. I have to be very careful who I'm around, what I say ... I prefer not to be round someone on my own any more because I just don't know the agendas that people have."

Federline Threatens To Write Expose

Britney Spears' estranged husband Kevin Federline is threatening to write a steamy tell-all book about his marriage to the pop star if he doesn't receive the divorce settlement he feels he deserves. The book could include details about his estranged wife's wild drinking, alleged drug use, her sexual attraction towards other women, as well as her supposed belief in time-travel. A source tells American publication Star, "Kevin is either hoping a publisher will pay him big money for the book or that Britney will cough up more cash than what's in their prenup to keep him from spilling the beans." According to the couple's agreement, Federline could receive an estimated $360,000 in spousal support, plus $7 million from the sale of their Malibu, California home. He is also requesting sole custody of the couple's two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, as well as a settlement of at least $20 million.

'High Fidelity' Musical To Close After Just Ten Days

The $9.75 million Broadway musical High Fidelity will close on Sunday just one month after opening previews were staged and ten days after its official premiere. The production is based on British author Nick Hornby's best-selling book, which was adapted into the 2000 Hollywood movie High Fidelity starring John Cusack and Jack Black, and failed to garner healthy advance sales before opening to the public last week. The New York Times critic described David Lindsay-Abaire's show as one of the "all-time most forgettable musicals." Last week, New York's Imperial Theatre was half-empty for the first public performances, prompting producers to pull the plug.

Dickinson Injured In Hit-and-Run Accident

Supermodel-turned-reality TV star Janice Dickinson was left concussed and shaken up after the vehicle she was in was caught up in a hit-and-run accident. The former girlfriend of Sylvester Stallone and Jack Nicholson was driving along a section of the 405 freeway in Los Angeles with her assistant and stylists on Tuesday night when a truck struck their vehicle and pushed them into the median - and then drove off. According to news website Tmz.com, Dickinson hit her head in the accident and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. She was later released.
