Jolie Never Wanted To Ruin Pitt's Marriage
Angelina Jolie insists she never wanted to ruin Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's marriage - claiming her relationship with the Ocean's Eleven star "just happened." The couple met on the set of Mr. And Mrs. Smith last year and began dating soon after. Jolie has been blamed for the failure of Pitt's marriage to Aniston, which ended in divorce in October 2005. But she insists, "I think we were both the last two people who were looking for a relationship. Because of the film ( Mr. and Mrs. Smith) we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened." However, Jolie has no plans to marry Pitt just yet, adding, "We've both been married before, so it's not marriage that necessarily kept some people together. We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that's the most important thing." Jolie and Pitt, have three children, Maddox, five; Zahara, 23 months; and Shiloh, six months.
Lohan Tries To Quit Drinking
Lindsay Lohan is desperately trying to get her life under control by attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and insists she has not had a drink for seven days. The Mean Girls star claims she wants to shift the focus from her partying back to her film career. She tells American publication People, "I've been going to AA, for a year by the way. It's no one's business. That's why it's anonymous! I haven't had a drink in seven days. Or anything. I'm not even legal, so why would I? I don't drink when I go to clubs. I drink with my friends at home, but there's no need to. I feel better not drinking. It's more fun. I just wanted to, like, find a balance. I was too caught up. I was like going out just to get it out of my system. I was going out too much and I knew that, and I have more to live for than that."
Richie "Prepared To Accept Responsibility" for Drug Arrest
Nicole Richie has vowed to accept responsibility for her arrest for driving under the influence on Monday and deal with any other issues related to the incident. The Simple Life star was released from custody after posting $15,000 bail and is waiting to learn the results of a blood test. Richie's attorney Howard Weitzman says, "This is a difficult time for Nicole but she is prepared to accept whatever responsibility is appropriate. She intends to continue with her career and will deal with any other issues that need to be addressed." New surveillance camera footage has been released showing Richie talking with officers and failing field sobriety tests before being placed under arrest. The 25-year-old socialite admitted to officers at the time that she had smoked marijuana earlier in the evening and had also consumed the prescription painkiller Vicodin. The District Attorney's office has not filed charges at this time, but Richie's arraignment has been scheduled for February 7. She is not required to be present in court and an attorney can appear on her behalf.
Spelling Expecting Baby Boy

Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott are expecting a baby boy next year. Spelling, 33 and McDermott, 39 have been married since May and McDermott has a son Jack, 8, from a previous marriage. She tells American publication People, "We are thrilled to be having a son together. Little boys are a ton of fun. We love talking to him. We play tunes for him and watch him kick. He already loves the Dixie Chicks! We went to their concert and he kicked the whole time." McDermott adds, "Now Jack will have the baby brother he's been waiting for." Spelling has previously said that if she has a boy he will be given the middle name Aaron after her late father, legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling, who died in June. They are still deciding on a first name. She adds, "Yes, his middle name will be Aaron. Dean and I feel it's the perfect way to honor the memory of my father."
BAFTA Rule Change Affects High-Profile Movies

A new rule put in place by the British Academy Of Film And Television Arts (BAFTA) is preventing high-profile movies including Clint Eastwood's Letters From Iwo Jima from being entered into the organization's 2007 ceremony. In previous years, any film released before the end of March in the UK was eligible for Bafta consideration. However, bosses have now decided all movies must come out before the ceremony, to be held on February 11 in London. This ruling means Oscar hopeful Letters From Iwo Jima and Robert De Niro's second film as director, The Good Shepherd, in which he also stars, can not be considered, as both have a scheduled February 23 release. The George Clooney-starring The Good German, with a March 9 release date, will also miss out. Adam Dawtrey, of industry magazine Variety, says, "This strikes at the very heart of the question of what commercial impact BAFTA actually has for distributors. On the whole, there's a belief that the awards season overall has a significant commercial impact - not just the Oscars but the hype for months about the race, and clearly BAFTA is a part of that. But if you take the BAFTAs out of that mix, do you not just have the same impact anyway, as far as a British audience is concerned?"
Smith Donates One Million Dollars to School

Hollywood star Jada Pinkett Smith has donated $1 million to her high school, Baltimore School for the Arts. Smith, who is married to actor Will Smith, will have the new school theatre named after her, despite the actress wishing it to be christened after fellow classmate Tupac Shakur, who was murdered in 1996. Head of the school's theatre development Donald Hicken says, "It means a lot when you're a teacher and your most famous alumnus comes back to give a donation It really says a lot to the community that the school matters in people's lives." The donation from the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, which is based in Baltimore, will be used for renovation and expansion.
Students Lose 'Borat' Lawsuit

Two male students who appear in Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan making racist remarks have had their lawsuit to get the scene cut from the movie dismissed. The two unnamed South Carolina students had alleged they were plied with alcohol and tricked into making the onscreen comments, and were made to sign release forms while drunk. They were seeking damages for distress caused by their appearance, and wanted the scene axed from the film and its subsequent DVD release. Last week, the pair were given another opportunity to seek an injunction. However, Los Angeles Superior Judge Joseph Biderman ruled on Monday they had failed to show a reasonable probability of success on the merits of their case and that monetary damages would not be enough to resolve their claims.
Hilton Defends Spears' Parenting
Paris Hilton has hit out at critics of Britney Spears, insisting she can party and still be a good mother. The pair have rapidly become bosom buddies, and are regularly spotted out on the town together in Los Angeles and Las Vegas - prompting some to question the time Spears dedicates to her one-year-old son Sean Preston and three month old Jayden James. But Hilton writes on her MySpace.com page, "Lately, you've been seeing pics of me and Britney partying (blah blah) and she knows that some of her fans are very upset about what they call her 'behavior' and sadly they're blaming the issue on her being friends with me. For people to call out her parenting skills on behalf of her partying ethics is appalling. Britney loves her kids to death, and I know for a fact that it truly hurts her when she sees these cruel things being written about her. She goes home every night to her babies and partying has not come in the way of her parenting. Anyone who has called her out on this should really be ashamed. There are thousands of mothers out there who like to go out and have a good time. But, you do not see people out there calling them 'bad parents.' She's young, and if she wants to go out and have some fun, let her. Just because she does these things does not mean she doesn't care about her children. For the sake of Britney and her kids, be kind. Love, Paris."
Clooney in Egypt Asking Leaders To Stop Genocide in Darfur
George Clooney is getting serious about his efforts to end the genocide in Darfur - he's speaking to leaders in China and Egypt and urging them to use their ties with the Sudanese government to help stop the violence. The actor and Ocean's Eleven co-star Don Cheadle are currently in Egyptian capital Cairo, campaigning to raise awareness about the killings in Darfur. The actor and his father trekked to the trouble spot earlier this year to shoot an awareness video and interview terrified refugees, and he has since become a fervent activist for the Save Darfur campaign. Clooney's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, reveals the actor and his friends chose to visit Egypt because politicians there have been key mediators with neighboring Sudan, where an estimated 200,000 people have been killed and more than 2.5 million have been driven from their homes in more than three years of warfare. The movie star hinted at his most recent efforts to stop the war in the Sudan in a recent interview, where he said, "You can't go in barreling with bombs or guns because we can't attack the government of Sudan. What it really requires is some sort of political discussion with these people, and, since we don't do business with them, we need help from China, Egypt, Russia."
Princess Diana Concert Announced

A celebrity concert celebrating British royal Diana, Princess Of Wales has been officially announced by her sons Prince William and Prince Harry. The princes, who are organizing the concert, have revealed the event will go ahead next year at London's Wembley Stadium - 10 years after she was killed in a car crash in Paris - on what would have been her 46th birthday. Sir Elton John, Duran Duran, Joss Stone, Bryan Ferry and Pharrell Williams will perform at the event, with more artists to be confirmed. There will also be a memorial service on the day. Prince William says, "We (Prince Harry) both wanted to put our stamp on it. We want it to represent exactly what our mother would have wanted. So therefore the church service alone isn't enough. We wanted to have this big concert full of energy, full of the sort of fun and happiness, which I know she would have wanted." Sir Elton John, who performed his song "Candle In The Wind" at Diana's funeral, says, "I applaud Princes William and Harry for choosing to honor their mother with this concert. I am absolutely thrilled to be performing at this great event. Diana was a personal friend and someone I greatly admired for her tireless and enthusiastic work for charity." The tickets will go on sale today.
