Longoria and Parker Engaged

Eva Longoria and her on-off basketball beau Tony Parker are engaged. The Desperate Housewives actress, 31, and the French-born sports star, 24 - a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs - met in November 2004. Longoria's representative Liza Anderson confirms, "Eva and Tony are officially engaged. The couple have never been happier." The pair split briefly in September, but quickly rekindled their relationship after a romantic trip to Paris. This is the second marriage for Longoria, who was previously married to actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 until 2004. This will be Parker's first marriage.

Walters: "DeVito Is Welcome Back"

Barbara Walters insists Danny DeVito is welcome back on her show The View, even though he appeared to be drunk during an interview on Wednesday. The star was promoting his new movie Deck The Halls on the show, and admitted he was still tipsy after a night of partying with pal George Clooney. Walters seemed far from impressed by the actor's behavior, but has quickly forgiven him after he apologized personally to her. Speaking on the show yesterday morning, Walters said, "We love him, we'll have him on again." Walters found a message from DeVito in her office after the show. She says, "I called him back on his cell phone and he had already left on a plane, but he said he was not going to say anything until he had talked to me." The 62-year-old star appeared on the live show slurring his words and ranting against President George W. Bush. He ended his appearance by sitting on co-host Rosie O'Donnell's lap. O'Donnell laughed off DeVito's disheveled appearance this morning, adding, "Danny DeVito is not an alcoholic. He's just a guy who had too many drinks with his friends. He had a wonderful night out, and he was a little drunk."

'Half Nelson' Triumphs at Gotham Awards

Budget drug-addiction drama Half Nelson was a triple winner at this year's Gotham Awards, scooping prizes for Best Feature, Breakthrough Director and Breakthrough Actor. Despite stiff competition from big studio-financed films including The Departed and Marie Antoinette, the $1 million movie dominated the New York ceremony on Wednesday night honoring independent film-making. Host David Cross slammed the inclusion of its big-budget rivals, insisting, "We're here to celebrate the films that show you don't need a big studio, films with an untested director and cast - films like The Departed. How that got greenlit I have no idea." Despite the scathing comments, the $25 million Brad Pitt-starring Babel won the Best Ensemble Cast award, and its star Rinko Kikuchi shared the Breakthrough Actor award with Shareeka Epps of Half Nelson. Oscar-short listed Iraq In Fragments took home the Best Documentary prize.

Gibson: "Film Fans Won't Stay Away From My Movie"

Mel Gibson is optimistic film fans will flock to see his new movie Apocalypto despite his July drunk driving arrest and anti-Semitic controversy. Critics feel sure the upcoming epic, which focuses on the plight of the early Mayan race, will fail at the box office because film fans are still scarred by the anti-Jewish remarks the actor/director made to a Jewish cop during a late-night traffic stop and arrest. Disgraced Gibson has since publicly apologized for his drunken comments and he thinks he's done enough to bring people to the cinema to see his latest movie. He says, "People aren't like that... (My new film) is primarily entertainment... The movie will stand on its own, regardless of any unfortunate experience I may have stumbled upon."

Irwin's Last Adventure To Air in January

The wildlife special tragic Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin was shooting when he was killed by a stingray's barb in September is to air in January. The Discovery Channel and Animal Planet TV networks will simultaneously air his last TV project Ocean's Deadliest in America on January 21. The animal expert and conservationist was killed off the coast of Australia while shooting the show with oceanographer and adventurer Philippe Cousteau. Cousteau, who was aboard Irwin's boat Croc One with the Aussie TV star during the expedition, narrates the 90 minute documentary. The special is expected to be one of the two nature channels' biggest ratings winners as fans tune in to catch a last glimpse of the Crocodile Hunter.

Madonna Has "No Problem" With Adoption Challenge

Pop superstar Madonna is refusing to be daunted by an imminent challenge to her Malawian adoption, insisting she's got "no problem" with the legal action. On Wednesday, a judge in baby David Banda's homeland ruled his 18-month interim adoption could be challenged by a coalition of 67 human rights groups. Members claim the Malawian government "fast-tracked" the adoption process for the singer and husband Guy Ritchie, and point out intra-country adoptions are not allowed in the African nation. But Madonna's Malawian lawyer Alan Chinula says, "They (Madonna and Ritchie) called me from London and I explained to them the ruling. They have no problem with the ruling and are also willing to sit back and wait." He added of the coalition's suit, "It's good for the law. Let's build the law, let the court hear other views. It's not Madonna using an antiquated law, we followed the law to the letter in the adoption process, but it's just a bad law."

Blair and Zappa Divorce Finalized

Hollywood star Selma Blair and actor Ahmet Zappa are officially divorced after two years of marriage. The couple married in January 2004, after dating for six months, in a traditional Jewish ceremony at the Beverly Hills mansion of actress Carrie Fisher. Blair filed for divorce in June 2006 citing "irreconcilable differences." Court papers of a final judgment were entered on November 27 in Los Angeles Superior Court and both parties have agreed to waive spousal support. It was the first marriage for both and the couple have no children. Blair, 34, is rumored to be dating actor Johnny Messner, who she met while filming The Sweetest Thing in 2002. Zappa, 32, is the son of the late musician Frank Zappa and released his debut novel, The Monstrous Memoirs Of A Mighty McFearless in July.

Fiennes Finds Another Older Woman In Barkin?

British movie star Ralph Fiennes has reportedly found new love with actress Ellen Barkin, according to US reports. The 43-year-old Schindler's List actor, who famously dumped his wife Alex Kingston for older woman Francesca Annis, has now sparked fresh romance reports after being seen out in New York with Barkin, 52. The couple were spotted dining together at Orso before checking out Julianne Moore's new play The Vertical Hour. An eyewitness tells US publication In Touch the couple held hands throughout the performance, saying, "He didn't take his eyes of her."

Actor Tim Rooney Dies

Actor and voiceover artist Tim Rooney, son of Mickey Rooney, has died. He was 59. Rooney died on September 23 in Hemet, California after a five-year battle with the muscle disease dermatomyositis. He was the second son of the veteran actor and his wife, singer Betty Jane Rase, who performed as BJ Baker. As a child, Rooney had polio, which left him paralyzed for two years, but he eventually recovered. He was chosen as one of the original Mouseketeers for the Mickey Mouse Club in 1955, but never appeared on the show after being fired after getting into mischief in the Disney paint shop. His later career included parts in Riot On Sunset Strip and Village Of The Giants. He appeared on TV shows including Dragnet, Bewitched, Petticoat Junction and Gidget and did voiceover work for cartoons including The Jetsons and Mr. T.

Hewitt Slams Pregnancy Reports

Former Party Of Five star Jennifer Love Hewitt has rubbished reports she is expecting a baby with boyfriend Ross McCall. Internet rumours took hold after the 27-year-old Ghost Whisperer actress was out grocery shopping in Los Angeles over the Thanksgiving weekend with what looked like a baby bump. Hewitt's publicist tells American publication Star, "There's 100 percent no truth to this. It's completely ridiculous. Jennifer is not pregnant. A website made up that story after reading some internet comments on PerezHilton.com. Perez didn't even write that story. So it came out of some web talk."
