'Seinfeld' Star Richards in Race Attack

Former Seinfeld star Michael Richards left comedy fans stunned during a Friday night performance at Los Angeles' Laugh Factory when he blasted a pair of African-American hecklers with a racist rant. The funnyman, who played quirky Cosmo Kramer in the beloved sitcom, lost his cool during a stand-up routine at the comedy club when two black audience members challenged him - and his comments were caught on camera. News website TMZ.com, which obtained the footage, reports the comedy show turned ugly when Richards realized his hecklers were black. He screamed at one of the men, "Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a f**king fork up your ass." And then, when the playful heckling continued, Richards objected further, ranting, "You can talk... you're brave now motherf**ker. Throw his ass out. He's a n**ger! He's a n**ger...! Look, there's a n**ger!" One of the hecklers then turned on Richards, shouting, "That's un-f**king called for, ain't necessary." Responding to the crowd's shock, Richards responded, "They're going to arrest me for calling a black man a n**ger." Many audience members then left the venue. One African-American audience member, Darryl Pitts, feels Richards should be reprimanded for his racist comments. He tells CNN, "I feel like something has to be done about. He threw those words around very cavalierly, he mentioned hanging upside down from a tree... It's very upsetting."

Inside Cruise and Holmes' Wedding

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are currently in the Maldives on their honeymoon as more details of their fairy tale wedding come to light. The celebrity couple exchanged rings during the ceremony designed by Cartier which were made of white gold with diamonds. Holmes' off-the-shoulder Giorgio Armani-designed gown featured an ivory silk train adorned with Valenciennes lace and Swarovski beaded crystal embroidery. She had on a ivory tulle floor-length veil and ivory silk shoes and carried a bouquet of flowers also designed by Armani featured calla lilies wrapped in leaves of galas and steelgrass. Holmes's sister and Matron of Honor, Nancy Blaylock, wore a black charmeuse, silk-layered evening dress, with an empire waist and floor length skirt. Her off-the-shoulder neckline was made of black lace. The best man was Cruise's best friend David Miscavige. The couple's daughter, Suri, seven months, and Cruise's children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Isabella, 13 and Connor, 11, were present. According to American publication Us Weekly, Connor carried Suri down the aisle who wore various layers of organza and chiffon. According to designer Giorgio Armani, the baby's dress was "inspired by her mother's bridal gown." Following the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails and specially prepared Italian hors d'oeuvres, followed by a multi-course meal. At the wedding reception, which was accented with red roses, the bride wore an asymmetric champagne Giorgio Armani Prive evening dress of silk organza decorated in Swarovski crystal beads. The couple's five-tiered white chocolate wedding cake was decorated with marzipan roses and was studded with white chocolate chips and featured white chocolate mouse and white chocolate cream filling. Holmes' first dance was with her father to "What A Wonderful World" and that the newlyweds' first dance was to "Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac. According to US news show Entertainment Tonight, Holmes did not toss her bouquet. The couple left Rome on Sunday for the Maldives in the Indian Ocean for their honeymoon.

News Corp. Cancels Simpson Book and TV Special

News Corp. head Rupert Murdoch yesterday canceled the OJ Simpson book and upcoming TV special If I Did It, after a barrage of criticism. Bosses at a dozen Fox Broadcasting affiliates had already said they would not air the two-part special, planned to precede the November 30 publication of the book by Regan Books, also owned by News Corp. Murdoch said, "I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project. We are sorry for any pain that this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson." In both the book and the show, Simpson speaks hypothetically about how he would have committed the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Goldman. Goldman's father Fred had slammed the idea saying, "He destroyed my son and took from my family Ron's future and life. And for that I'll hate him always and find him despicable." The former football star was acquitted in 1995 of murder charges, but was later found liable for the deaths in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Goldman family. Publisher Judith Regan said she considered the book to be Simpson's confession.

Malawi Judge "Too Busy" for Madonna Adoption Case

The Malawian judge presiding over a legal challenge of Madonna's recent adoption of baby David has postponed a ruling on the case, claiming he is too busy. An alliance of 67 groups is challenging the interim adoption order granted to the singer and her husband Guy Ritchie last month. Madonna denies she used her wealth and influence to speed up the adoption process. Last week Judge Andrew Chipeta in Lilongwe said he would wait till yesterday to decide if the coalition have the legal right to challenge the adoption of the 14-month-old tot, whose biological father Yohane Banda is still alive. However, yesterday's case has been postponed until next week. Justin Dzonzi, lawyer for the groups, says, "The judge has not communicated to me or my colleague but we hear that he is very busy and he might rule next week." Chipeta delayed the case last week after Madonna's local lawyer Alan Chinula said he needed more time to study the groups' arguments.

Norton Urges Oscars To Banish Gift Baskets

Actor Edward Norton is leading a celebrity charge to banish lavishing gift baskets on presenters at top awards shows. The Illusionist star is appalled by the freebies celebrities pick up backstage at events like the Golden Globes and the Oscars, while many people watching the ceremonies at home are struggling to pay the rent and feed their kids. He says, "A lot of us have talked to the Academy Awards producers about this and I think they're actually going to scuttle the gift baskets and that kind of stuff. I mean the gift baskets, worth amounts of money that a low income family could live on for a year, (are given to) people who have so much already. It gets depressing. You sit there, going, 'This is an embarrassment.'"

'Lost' Star Up for X-Men Role?

Lost star Josh Holloway is being tipped to star in the next X-Men movie as fan favorite Gambit. Holloway, who plays Sawyer on the hit TV show, was set to star as Gambit in X-Men: The Last Stand but pulled out because of TV commitments. But it's reported the model/actor will star in the next installment, which will not feature many of the film's original stars, including Hugh Jackman, Sir Ian McKellen and Halle Berry. The film's producer Lauren Shuler Donner tells Moviehole, "Remember in Lost? There was a guy in there that was the perfect Gambit, the guy with the straight hair, good-looking, the bad boy… Sawyer. The reason we didn't use Gambit was because in a sense his persona is a bit like Wolverine in that he's got attitude and his power is not quite as exciting as the others. That's why we went to Nightcrawler on 2 because he looked different than everybody else and he had a great power. So yes, I think we would weave Gambit within our story, (but) it wouldn't be The Gambit Movie." Gambit possesses the ability to charge objects with energy, causing them to explode.

Johansson Criticizes President Bush

Scarlett Johansson has slammed President George W. Bush for his staunch conservative views on sex, criticizing the Republican for being too unrealistic in his opinions on the topic. The Lost In Translation star last month boasted about being so "socially aware" she gets tested for HIV twice a year. A staunch Christian, Bush is vehemently anti-abortion and is seeking to have the operation made illegal in all US states. During his time as Governor of Texas, Bush overhauled the state's sex education system and high school students were taught abstinence was the only way to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases. Johansson says, "We are supposed to be liberated in America but if our President had his way, we wouldn't be educated about sex at all. Every woman would have six children and we wouldn't be able to have abortions."

Houston and Brown's Atlanta Home Seized

Estranged couple Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's Atlanta, Georgia mansion has been seized and sold. The singer filed for divorce from the R&B pioneer last month after 14 years of marriage. Georgia newspaper Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the couple's five-bedroom home was foreclosed by local authorities after the couple failed to keep up with their mortgage payments. The $1.4 million house was sold on the steps of the Fulton County Courthouse on November 7. Last week, Houston denied reports her New Jersey home faces the same problem. Mortgage holder, Chevy Chase Bank have filed suit to foreclose on the house, claiming the singer owes them $1 million in mortgage payments and taxes on the building.

Simpson and Mayer Rekindling Romance?

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have sparked rumors they are dating again after being spotted together in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Simpson famously fired her publicist earlier this year over reports she was dating the singer, but the celebrity couple may indeed be together again after allegedly getting cozy at top nightspots. According to E! News, the pair were spotted in Beverly Hills enjoying a night out on the town together. They were seen at both the Sunset Marquis hotel and The Four Seasons where Simpson was seen resting her head on Mayer's chest. The couple then left the hotel with a large group of friends. Simpson and Mayer may have rekindled their romance, but they aren't going public with their feelings. Simpson's representative refused to confirm the new relationship insisting she is "not commenting on (Jessica's) personal life."

Free Federline Tickets Fail To Entice Fans

Concert organizers at the House of Blues in Los Angeles are giving away tickets to Kevin Federline's upcoming show Wednesday night to try and draw a crowd. Britney Spears' estranged husband has had a lackluster reception to his debut album Playing With Fire and several live shows have been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. A source tells Hollywood website Defamer.com, "Friday night at the Frank Black show at House of Blues on Sunset, the staff at the queue outside were trying to give away tickets for Kevin Federline's November 22 concert there. Several of them had large stacks of tickets and were pleading (with little success) for incoming concert-goers to take a few tickets." Federline's rap album sold less than 6,000 copies in its first week of release.
