Bullock and Latifah Named Women of the Year

Hollywood stars Sandra Bullock and Queen Latifah were named Women Of The Year at the American edition of Glamour magazine's annual awards on Monday. Bullock was honored as The Undercover Activist for her quiet million dollar donations to charities following September 11th and the Indian Ocean Tsunami in December 2004. Accepting her red trophy at New York City's Carnegie Hall, Bullock thanked her fellow Women Of The Year - An Inconvenient Truth producer Laurie David, Rachael Scdoris, Somaly Mam, Iman, Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, Billie Jean King, Katie Couric and Angela, Rosita and Margherita Missoni. Bullock said, "Bishop - all I can say to you is it's about damn time. Billie Jean King for some reason I don't play tennis, but I try - I try really hard. Rachael - You're my hero, you amaze me, I can't even make it to the gym." Queen Latifah, real name Dana Owens, was reunited with her Chicago co-star Catherine Zeta-Jones, who presented the rapper/actress with The Role Model award. Owens explained, "The reason why I took the name Queen was that my mother told me that all women were Queens and should be treated as such...So I dedicate this award to my mother who is the first Queen in my life."

Cambodian Aid Group Denies Stealing Jolie Donations

A Cambodian aid organization has rubbished allegations "hundreds of thousands of dollars" donated by Angelina Jolie have been stolen. It was recently claimed Jolie had broken an agreement after she stopped sending funds to Cambodian Vision In Development. On Monday, Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt's philanthropic and political advisor Trevor Neilson responded that no agreement had been terminated. He said, "No agreement was broken. There was no reneging on any commitment. The sad reality is that this person who made these allegations was fired because we believe (he) stole." Neilson did not reveal whether any legal action would be taken against Cambodian Vision In Development to try and get back the allegedly stolen money. But Mounh Sarath, director of Cambodian Vision In Development, says, "(We) will fight any lawsuit to find out the truth and to see if they have any documented proof of the money stolen." Jolie had since started up the Maddox Jolie Project, which is named after her eldest child, Cambodian-born Maddox, five.

Madonna Stunned by Negative Adoption Reaction

Superstar Madonna was shocked by the negative response to her controversial adoption of a 13-month-old boy from Malawi, claiming people are more interested in "gossip" than real news. The Evita star was granted an interim adoption of David Banda last month, who had been living in an orphanage because his father Yohane could not afford to look after him. Several human rights groups have lodged an appeal against the adoption in Malawian courts, claiming the singer broke the African country's adoption laws. In an interview on NBC News, which was broadcast in the US, Madonna says, "When I had my daughter (Lourdes), people accused me that I did it as a publicity stunt. I expected that. I didn't expect to be accused of kidnapping, or of doing something illegal. I didn't expect to be demonized. With all the chaos, pain and suffering in the world - the situation in Iraq, with Iran and North Korea - the fact that my adoption of a child who was living in an orphanage was the number one story for a week in the world... To me, that says more about our inability to focus on the real problems, and our desire to have distractions and to be consumed with gossip."

Baldwin Pulls Out of "Nazi" Arnie Film

Actor Alec Baldwin has pulled out of an upcoming documentary charting California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's rise to political power, because of its Nazi undertones. The Pearl Harbor star claims he agreed to narrate the film, titled Running With Arnold, before learning his script would be accompanied by images of Nazi rallies and the Nazi party paperwork of Schwarzenegger's father. Now he's demanding his voice be removed from the project and has ordered his attorney to issue a cease-and-desist demand against the filmmakers. In a posting on The Huffington Post website he writes, "The film-makers hammer Schwarzenegger over his private behaviour and his record as governor. But Schwarzenegger deserves to be treated fairly and the film's images of Nazi rallies were over the line." However, producers insist Baldwin had plenty of opportunities to view footage before recording his part and deny the project is biased against the Republican governor. Mike Gabrawy says, "What's really shocking about this situation is that this is not really a critical look at Arnold - there's a lot more we could've done to be critical." Some images of the Third Reich have been replaced.

Shields and Holmes Become Friends

Despite her public battle with Tom Cruise over the use of anti-depressants, Brooke Shields has become close friends with his fiancee Katie Holmes. Cruise slammed Shields for using medication to treat her postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter Rowan, but apologized to the actress in August for his comments. The two new mothers both gave birth on April 18 at the same Los Angeles hospital - Shields gave birth to second daughter Grier, while Holmes gave birth to daughter Suri. Shields tells US entertainment show Access Hollywood that they are "absolutely" friends. The two actresses share a love of hit TV show Grey's Anatomy and even watched the series' September premiere together in Shields' living room. Shields adds, "You never know how life is going to bring people together."

Ivanka Trump Dating Topher Grace?

Real estate mogul Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump is dating That '70s Show star Topher Grace, according to media reports in the US. Ivanka was celebrating her 25th birthday in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday and the pair were seen getting cozy. Grace, who starred as Eric Forman on the hit TV series and plays the villainous Venom in the upcoming Spider-Man 3, was spotted with Trump several times during the weekend. According to American publication People, the pair danced, cuddled on the VIP bed and even shared a quick kiss during the party and then left holding hands. Before the birthday bash, Trump, Grace and friends including Grace's That '70s Show co-star Wilmer Valderrama had dinner at Las Vegas restaurant Social House and on Friday they dined with friends at Bellagio's Fix. Trump, vice president of development and acquisitions for her father's Trump Organization, is a regular on his US reality show The Apprentice. She was most recently romantically linked with Tour De France champion Lance Armstrong.

Federline Booed During Halloween Performance

Rapper Kevin Federline was met with a chorus of boos from a crowd in West Hollywood, California last night when he performed at the city's annual Halloween Carnival. Federline, who calls himself "America's Most Hated," was there to celebrate the release of his debut album Playing With Fire. Before he even began rapping his new song "Privilege," he was bombarded with jeers from the costume-clad crowd. Rumors circulated before his appearance that his wife, pop star Britney Spears, would be making a surprise appearance. According to entertainment news website Tmz.com, the crowd appeared to be let down after Federline performed one song and made a hasty exit to attend his album release party, driving off in a white Rolls Royce Phantom.

Rivers Loses Purse in Bag Swap

Comedienne Joan Rivers lost an antique purse belonging to her late mother when her goody bag was switched at a recent New York City charity bash. Rivers tucked the priceless purse away so she could pose for photographs at the New York Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Children event on Monday, but picked up the wrong bag afterwards and someone else walked off with the heirloom. She tells PageSix.com, "Some lucky lady is going to say, 'Look at this! It's got money, Joan Rivers' lip gloss, a compact - this is some goodie bag!'"

Kylie Confirms Comeback

Kylie Minogue will resume her cancer-interrupted world tour in Australia next week, when she takes to the stage in Sydney. The pop star's record label confirmed the show earlier today, which was put on hold last year when Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer. But after undergoing successful surgery in Melbourne in May 2005, and a course of chemotherapy in Paris, the 38-year-old singer is ready to perform the re-named Showgirl Homecoming Tour. In recent months, she's made occasional appearances in public, including a TV interview, a book signing in London and Dolce & Gabbana's catwalk show in Milan.

Affleck Swears Off Superheroes

Ben Affleck will never play a superhero again, after being "humiliated" wearing a costume in Daredevil three years ago. Speaking at the London premiere of Hollywoodland, which sees Affleck playing TV Superman actor George Reeves, the actor admits he hates wearing tight lycra. He says, "By playing a superhero in Daredevil, I have inoculated myself from ever playing another superhero. Wearing a costume was a source of humiliation for me and something I wouldn't want to do again soon." Starring in Daredevil wasn't all bad for Affleck - he met his now-wife Jennifer Garner on the set of the action movie.
