Pitt Files Trespassing Charges Against Journalists
Brad Pitt is seeking trespassing charges against a producer and cameraman after they allegedly walked onto the actor's property in the Hollywood Hills last week. The journalists from TV network E! were fired after they allegedly unchained a gate at the back of the star's estate before entering the grounds, where they were spotted by construction workers maintaining the property. Pitt and his girlfriend Angelina Jolie are currently filming in India and were not at home when the incident occurred. A representative for Pitt confirms to American publication People, "Yes, we have filed trespassing charges against E! and are exploring our legal options against both the crew that actually trespassed and the network itself." Executives from the cable entertainment network deny any wrongdoing, saying in a statement, "E! Networks is investigating allegations that a producer and cameraman who were filming locations for a program about Brad Pitt went onto property last week that is reportedly owned by Mr. Pitt. E! Networks did not instruct or authorize anyone working on its program to improperly intrude onto private property, and the individuals involved have been terminated. While neither Mr. Pitt nor his family were at the property when the incident took place, the network in no way condones or encourages such behavior and would like to offer its most sincere apologies to Mr. Pitt and his family." A Los Angeles police spokesperson says the incident is still under investigation.
Madonna Adoption Hearing Adjourned

A coalition of rights groups desperate to stop Madonna's adoption of Malawian tot David Banda will have to wait until next month to have their case heard after Friday's hearing in the country was adjourned. An alliance of 67 groups are challenging the interim adoption order granted to the singer last week and met in Lilongwe to protest the alleged rule-breaking which saw non-resident Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie fly David out of the country to their London home. But Madonna's Malawian lawyer Alan Chinula reports, "The hearing has been adjourned... for the judge to hear other parties involved." Yohane Banda, the biological father of one-year-old David, was present at the hearing to protest moves to halt the adoption. He fears the groups' outrage may prompt the Material Girl to return the child to Malawi, where he warns he'd die from lack of food and medicine.
Lawyers Try To Block Movie on Murder Case

A former fugitive who is awaiting trial for a teenager's murder sued Universal Studios on Friday, claiming he's unfairly portrayed in a movie based on the crime. Jesse James Hollywood, 26, is charged with kidnapping and murdering Nicholas Markowitz, a 15-year-old from West Hills, California, in August 2000. Hollywood alleges that Alpha Dog, which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival, closely parallels the theory of Markowitz's murder alleged by the former prosecutor in the case, Santa Barbara, California County Deputy District Attorney Ron Zonen, who was a consultant for the film. Hollywood is trying to stop the film's release in January, which stars Bruce Willis, Sharon Stone and Justin Timberlake. He claims the movie will "irreparably harm" his ability to receive a fair trial. Due to his involvement in the film, Zonen - who prosecuted four other men convicted in connection with the murder - was removed from the case earlier this month by a court order. Markowitz's body was eventually found in a Santa Barbara County camping area. Prosecutors allege he was kidnapped because of a drug debt owed by his brother. Hollywood was apprehended in Brazil in March 2005 and has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
Aniston and Vaughn Reunited in London
Jennifer Aniston has flown to London to join boyfriend Vince Vaughn after nearly two months apart. According to American publication Us Weekly, the pair shared the penthouse suite at a London hotel on Friday night and ordered steak, veal and red wine from room service. The following day, the couple took in a matinee performance of the musical Wicked, then returned to the hotel. This is the first time the couple have seen each other since media reports claimed they had split.
Irwin's Widow "Devastated" by 'South Park' Parody
Steve Irwin's widow Terri Irwin is reportedly "devastated" by an episode of controversial TV cartoon South Park that pokes fun at the late Crocodile Hunter. Terri, 42, is said to be worried that Irwin's children Bindi, eight, and Bob, two, will see the show, which portrays the late star with a stingray sticking out of his chest less than two months after he died. Friday night, Australian TV channel SBS said it is planning to air the episode in Australia next year or in 2008. It has already been shown in the US. A friend of Irwin's widow says, "Terri is devastated Steve is being mocked in such a cruel way. Her worry is that Bindi and Bob will see it and break down. Steve had as big a sense of humor as anyone, but this goes too far too soon." British TV naturalist Mark Amey, 44, who worked alongside Irwin, backed the sentiments, saying, "My message to people is don't watch the show. It's distasteful s**t. Let's hope none of Steve's fans who keep poisonous animals happen to find the addresses of those behind the show and leave them a nice surprise." Irwin was killed by a stingray barb off the coast of Queensland, Australia on September 4 while filming a segment for his daughter's new TV show.
Carey's Manager Fires Back at Concert Cancellation Rumors
Mariah Carey's manager has fired back at reports the final date on the pop superstar's Adventures of Mimi tour was scrapped due to her diva demands and poor ticket sales. Concert Asia promoters posted a message on their website earlier last week, blaming Carey's backstage demands and a lack of interest on the cancellation of the Hong Kong show, which was scheduled for tomorrow. But her manager Benny Medina has hit back in an interview with Associated Press, stating his client didn't behave like a diva and made no wild demands. Medina, who formerly managed Jennifer Lopez, blamed the cancellation on the tour promoter's failure to pay Carey money that was due to her.
Woods: "'Shark' Saved My Life"

Actor James Woods credits his new hit TV series Shark for saving his life after he was left devastated by the sudden death of his brother earlier this year. Michael Woods died of cardiac arrest shortly after the pair returned from a cross country road trip in July - the same week the show started shooting. James explains, "It's inconceivable. Let me tell you, life throws you curves you can't imagine and I got the worst and the best in the same week. We started shooting this episode, and I have to say, this series kind of saved my life. Honestly, if I weren't doing this show, and I was out on my own, I'd just be sitting in a corner, really. I have no reason to do TV - I mean, I'm alone. The only people who are here are my elderly mother, and I certainly have enough money to take care of her, and my two nieces and nephew - I have no reason to work. But when I work, I put on my cheerful face and do what I have to do...we have a good time and then I close that off and I go home and deal with what I have to deal with."
Richie Blasts Eating Disorder Rumors

Socialite Nicole Richie has slammed reports she's checked herself into an eating disorder rehabilitation clinic, insisting she is "happy and healthy." The skinny star has posted a comment on her MySpace.com blog site denying the rumours, which surfaced earlier this week. Richie fumes, "Contrary to CNN's false accusations, I did not check myself into an eating disorder rehab. I do not have an eating disorder. Whoever has started this rumor is evil and mean but it's not true. I am happy and healthy and living my life." Her publicist Nicole Perna added, "Nicole has decided to undergo diagnostic treatment to determine why she's not been putting on weight. This is not treatment for an eating disorder." Filming on the fifth season of Richie's reality TV show The Simple Life has been postponed while she undergoes the treatment.
