Macy Slams Lohan for Lateness

Veteran actor William H. Macy has blasted co-star Lindsay Lohan for her behavior while filming the movie Bobby, insisting she "should have her a** kicked." The star shared scenes with the 20-year-old actress in the film and admires her talent, but not her manners. He said, "You can't show up late. It's very, very disrespectful." Lohan was blasted in a letter last month from the Ceo of Morgan Creek Productions for her absences on set of her new film Georgia Rule, who called her behavior that of "a spoiled child." Lohan appears in the film alongside Macy's wife, Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman. He explains, "I think what an actor has to realize (is that) when you show up an hour late, 150 people have been scrambling to cover for you. It's nothing but disrespect. And Lindsay Lohan is not the only one. A lot of actors show up late as if they're God's gift to the film. It's inexcusable, and they should have their a**es kicked."
Spielberg "Stunned" by Paramount's Cruise Decision

Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg insists he had no prior knowledge of Paramount's decision to end their partnership with Tom Cruise, declaring he was stunned by the news.
Spielberg's Dreamworks company is owned by Paramount Pictures and has directed Cruise in Minority Report and War of the Worlds.
Spielberg also owns the talent firm Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which represents Cruise.
When Sumner Redstone, the chairman of Viacom - Paramount's parent company - announced the studios would not be renewing Cruise's 14-year production deal due to his "recent conduct," internet gossips claimed Spielberg was aware of the decision.
However, his spokesman Marvin Levy tells the New York Daily News, "Steven had no advance knowledge of Sumner Redstone's position. The story broke when Steven was on an airplane. He found out when the plane landed."
Spielberg's producing partner Kathleen Kennedy has lashed out at reports the director was unhappy with Cruise's behaviour during the War Of The Worlds publicity campaign last year, when he indulged in public displays of affection with fiancee Katie Holmes on red carpets all over the world.
Kennedy says, "It's not true. Tom was a consummate professional. He's done nothing wrong."
Tokyo Turnaround On Spears Poster

A poster showing a naked and pregnant Britney Spears is no longer banned from Tokyo, Japan's subway system after officials decided it isn't "too simulating" for young people after all. The picture, from the cover of the August edition of Harper's Bazaar magazine, shows the singer naked, but protecting her modesty by covering her breasts with her arms and crossing her legs at the knee. Tokyo Metro bosses had ruled the poster too rude and a threat to the nation's young, but in a turnaround they now accept its intention is not to be sexually explicit but to show a happy mother. The poster was to go on show censored below Spears' elbow, with a statement that reads, "We apologize for hiding part of a beautiful image of a mother-to-be." However, it will now be displayed uncensored as originally planned. Metro spokesman Tatsuya Edakubo says, "Our earlier request to cover the photo from the waist down was because of nudity, not because we had anything against pregnant women." The snap of Spears will appear in the Japanese edition of Harper's Bazaar in October, and is backed by a large advertising campaign across the country. Spears and husband Kevin Federline are expecting their second child in the autumn.
Gibson Makes Apology Calls
Mel Gibson is making secret phone calls to Hollywood's top Jews to personally apologize for an anti-Semitic rant he stunned Tinseltown with last month. The movie star launched into a scathing attack on Jews during a drunk-driving arrest in California, and now he's keen to make amends. A source tells TMZ.com that Gibson has been calling top Hollywood moguls, with whom he has worked in the past, to apologize for his much-publicized remarks. One of the people on the receiving end of disgraced Gibson's apology tells the website the actor said he wanted him to know he was really sorry and was working on his "problem." Gibson also said he hoped he would be able to work with him again. The unnamed mogul says he was civil to the Braveheart star but remains unconvinced the actor was being completely sincere. Gibson's publicist claims the actor is in a recovery program following his drunk-driving arrest. The actor has already turned down an invite to speak to Jews at Los Angeles' Temple Of The Arts on holy day Yom Kippur in October.
Knoxville Attacked in Bar Brawl
The Dukes Of Hazzard star Johnny Knoxville was left shaken when he was attacked by a man at a Hollywood bar last week. Knoxville was drinking at dive bar Tinys KO, along with Jackass co-stars Steve-O and Chris Pontius, when a man shoved him against a wall. According to an eyewitness Steve-O and Pontius immediately dragged the attacker outside. The witness tells US OK! magazine, "Johnny tried to mediate. He looked a bit shaken up when he came back into the bar, but the other two were disappointed that they didn't fight." Knoxville recently told Spin magazine that people regularly try and pick fights with him saying, "People think by challenging me they're going to show they're tough. But I'm not tough. Decent drinker, not a bad kisser, but not a great fighter."
Clooney's Malaria Fears
Syriana Oscar winner George Clooney feared he had contracted malaria during a trip to Africa earlier this year. The actor visited the Darfur region of Sudan to raise awareness of the plight of refugees in the war-torn region. When he returned he fell ill and began to display symptoms of the deadly tropical disease, which is rife across Africa. A spokesperson tells PageSix.com, "George does not have malaria, but he felt like he had the effects of it at one point. It was food poisoning from the flight back from Darfur." The actor is next set to be seen onscreen in December drama The Good German.
Springsteen's Marriage Over?
Bruce Springsteen has reportedly split from his wife of 20 years, Patti Scialfa, and started a new relationship with a 9/11 widow. Friends of the rocker claim Springsteen and Scialfa have separated in secret, after he fell for a redhead he met when he organized September 11th telethon, America: A Tribute To Heroes. A source tells the New York Post newspaper, "They're separated, but everyone has been sworn to secrecy. We're not supposed to talk about it." Although Springsteen enjoyed a recent vacation with Scialfa and their three children, he has been spotted near his New Jersey home with the mystery woman. Scialfa's mother Victoria tells the newspaper, "I don't know anything about it; I don't want to talk about it." A rep for the singer has refused to comment.
Emmy Host O'Brien's Hair Fears

Emmy Awards host Conan O'Brien is having sleepless nights ahead of the big ceremony on Sunday, worrying his hair won't look great onstage. The talk show host is even scrutinizing weather forecasts to check freak conditions won't ruin his trademark hairdo. The well-coiffed star tells the New York Daily News, "Barometric pressure has a lot to do with how my hair behaves. So I'll be checking with the weather services shortly before the program to see just what kind of lift we can achieve. If the humidity gets a little high and we're in a low-pressure system, the hair tends to fall onto the forehead. But if we get just the right conditions, it can be 14 feet high."
Boy George Praises Cleaning For "Grounding" Him

British pop star Boy George has praised his five-day community service punishment for "grounding" him and "bringing structure" to his life. The former Culture Club singer, real name George O'Dowd, was given the sentence by a New York City judge after being found guilty of wasting police time when he falsely reported a burglary at his Manhattan apartment in October 2005. Last week the star joined the Nyc Department of Sanitation to clean the streets of Manhattan. O'Dowd says, "It's been quite grounding, because I have no structure in my life. The media has this image of me as this big f****t sitting on cushions all day eating grapes. But I'm a real person - I have a Hoover, I don't have a cleaner. So the idea that I can't pick up a broom and shovel is ridiculous. I think people didn't expect me to actually work, but that's what I came here for. And it's turned into a good experience. I'm amazed at how some people looked at it though. Some of the coverage was so over the top. And so much of it is, 'Oh, what a tragedy, ' and I'm like, 'Get over it, love!' There's nothing wrong with working."
'Idol' Hicks Sues To Protect Early Recordings
American Idol winner Taylor Hicks has filed a lawsuit in an effort to stop the release of his first recordings. The silver-haired soul singer has been granted a temporary restraining order, which will prevent producer William Smith from cashing in on Hicks' early tracks. Hicks accuses Nashville, Tennessee-based Smith of illegally cashing in on tracks he recorded in the late-1990s for WilliamSmith Productions Inc. Attorneys for the singer claim Smith had no right to release tracks Hicks wrote and recorded to Internet digital download warehouse iTunes. Hicks' suit, filed on Tuesday in his native Alabama, seeks compensatory and punitive damages in excess of $75,000 and claims ownership of the allegedly illegally released tunes.

The newspaper claims Valletta, who is married to former Olympic volleyball player Christian McCaw, entered Meadows last week. Her representative has been unavailable for comment. Former celebrity detoxees of Meadows include Kate Moss, Matthew Perry, Whitney Houston and Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean.
