Dick Goes Berserk at Shatner Roast

American comedian Andy Dick reportedly went berserk backstage at the Comedy Central Roast Of William Shatner on Sunday, licking screen siren Farrah Fawcett and biting a journalist. New York Post reporter Mandy Stadtmiller claims she watched Dick lick Fawcett, Carrie Fisher and comedian Patton Oswalt before turning his attentions to her. He allegedly groped her, tried to kiss her, proclaimed his love for her and then bit her hand, telling her, "Baby please, put in something nice. They're so mean. I'm not weird. Maybe I'm a little weird, they make me out to be a monster, I'm not a monster. I just want to have fun, baby please." She also accuses him of urinating in front of her and offering her cocaine. The show will air on Sunday August 20.

German Prosecutors Plan To Monitor Madonna Concert

German authorities will be keeping a close eye on Madonna's concert this Sunday in Dusseldorf to see if the pop diva performs a controversial mock crucifixion scene that has drawn fire from religious leaders. The "Hung Up" star, who is known for her theatrical shows, has sparked outrage among religious leaders by wearing a crown of fake thorns while performing on a mirrored cross. The stunt, which is part of her worldwide Confessions tour, has been labeled by critics as an act of hostility toward the Roman Catholic Church. Johannes Mocken, a spokesman for prosecutors in Dusseldorf, said yesterday that a repeat of the scene during Sunday's concert could be construed as insulting religious beliefs. Representatives for Madonna insist the scene is not disrespectful toward the church. Mocken said authorities would rely on media reports rather than sending observers to the concert and that the show might be covered by law protecting artistic freedoms.

He adds, "Our number one focus is our kids and parenting. We will always be friends because we will never be single parents. We will always be two parents." Diven reiterates their split was amicable, insisting, "We both realized we're best friends, and we're always going to be best friends. People grow apart. We could do the 'he said-she said' thing, but that's not us."
Gere Urges Media To Help Fight AIDS

Oscar winner Richard Gere told an AIDS conference on Monday that the international media should lead the fight to conquer the disease. The Pretty Woman actor, a long-standing AIDS activist, was speaking to media moguls from South Africa, India, Russia and the Caribbean. Gere believes the media, from Bollywood through to each country's TV shows, can help filter the anti-AIDS message into homes around the world. He told the conference he was inspired by Rock Hudson, who died of the disease in 1985, and Elizabeth Taylor, one of the first A-list stars to campaign against AIDS. Speaking about Taylor, Gere said, "There was another cultural icon, who just cut to the centre of the culture very quickly, very directly. And I think it was in many ways an inspiration to me. What I would do later on is work with people who had that ability to cut through very quickly and very deeply into the heart of a culture."
Rolling Stones Cancel Second Gig

Veteran rockers The Rolling Stones have cancelled a second concert in Spain because Sir Mick Jagger is still suffering from laryngitis. The singer, 63, developed the illness over the weekend, leading the band to cancel last night's gig in Valladolid's Zorilla soccer stadium. Jagger hoped to recover in time for the El Ejido, southern Spain, date of their A Bigger Bang world tour on Wednesday night, but he is still too ill to perform. The band are optimistic Jagger will be well enough for their Twickenham Stadium gig in their hometown of London on Sunday. The singer's illness is the second health problem to hit the Stones' current A Bigger Bang world tour - in April guitarist Keith Richards underwent emergency head surgery after falling from a small tree while holidaying in Fiji.
