Supermodel Kate Moss has escaped criminal charges following allegations she snorted cocaine last year, the UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed. Moss checked into an Arizona rehabilitation clinic in September, only weeks after British newspaper the Daily Mirror published photographs of the beauty purportedly snorting cocaine in a London recording studio with on/off boyfriend Pete Doherty. While the CPS believe Moss was using controlled drugs after studying video footage from the studio, they said there was no forensic evidence which could convict her. Rene Barclay, the CPS's London director of serious casework, says, "The film footage provides an absolutely clear indication that Ms. Moss was using controlled drugs and providing them to others. However, in the absence of any forensic evidence, or direct eye witness evidence about the substance in question, its precise nature could not be established." Following Moss' alleged drug scandal, fashion labels H&M and Burberry dropped the model from their advertising campaigns.
