Jolie & Pitt Baby Photos Hit Newsstands

The first pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's new baby, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-pitt, hit newsstands worldwide yesterday. The pictures appear in the new issues of Us People magazine, Hello! in the UK and New Idea in Australia, after what Hello! features editor Juliet Herd calls "a fierce bidding war." According to People managing editor Larry Hackett, "They're incredibly tender intimate moments of a mother and father with their newborn - they're not at all glamorous." The pictures were taken a week after the baby's May 27 birth by the same Getty Images photographer who shot the family in the Namibian desert on April 19. According to Herd, the couple had "the final decision" over which magazines would get the photos because "they had clear ideas of where they wanted to see the pictures run, to do them justice and to know that the story is being treated with due respect." Copies of the Hello! cover were leaked online on Tuesday , prompting the magazine's legal team to order the websites to remove the images. Herd confirms, "It was the real cover, and we don't know how it leaked." The photos were taken at the Burning Shore hotel in Namibia where the couple have been staying. The photographer has not been identified. The pictures are so coveted that People is raising its cover price to $3.99, just for the issue. People paid an estimated $4.1 for the images, which the celebrity couple are donating to as-yet-unnamed charities.
Streisand To Tour for Charity Cash
Barbra Streisand is putting her famous stage fright to the test again by announcing her first US tour in over a decade. The diva will play 20 shows in October and November throughout the US in an effort to raise millions for select charities she supports. Organizations which will benefit from the charity concert cash include those concerned with the environment, education and women's health. In a statement released through her management this morning, Streisand said, "The increasingly urgent need for private citizen support to combat dangerous climate change, along with education and health issues was the prime reason I decided to tour again. This will allow me to direct funds and awareness to causes that I care deeply about." Designated proceeds in support of philanthropic initiatives will be distributed through The Streisand Foundation. Streisand's only previous multiple city national tour, Barbra Streisand: The Concert, in 1994 was a critical and commercial smash. The actress/singer has rarely performed since, choosing mainly to take the stage at political benefits. It's a good time for Streisand to tour - last year, her latest CD, Guilty Pleasures, became her 50th gold album, and she also scored a smash-hit movie, Meet The Fockers. The full dates of Streisand's autumn tour will be announced shortly.
Roberts: "Theater Role Was Worth the Upheaval"
Julia Roberts has insisted her critically panned Broadway debut was worth the huge upheaval in her personal life. The Pretty Woman star took time out of her successful movie career in 2004 to spend time with her cameraman husband Daniel Moder and their young children Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia at their New Mexico ranch. Before signing up to appear in Three Days Of Rain, Roberts confessed she needed "an exemplary reason to leave the house" but, having done the play, she's glad she turned her life upside down for the stage. She says, "It's always worth a little upheaval to make a dream come true. And I wanted this so badly. Danny was the one who encouraged me to do this show. I mean, I probably wouldn't have had the nerve if not for him. He kept saying 'Do it, do it, do it.' I told him that our lives would change. We'd have to move to New York. And what about the kids? He said, 'Let's just do it. We'll figure it out.' And we did. Somehow."
Lohan Plans French Boutique?
Lindsay Lohan is so smitten with fashion she's considering opening her own Paris, France boutique. The actress/singer, whose love for the latest styles led to her changing three times during the Oscars ceremony in March, admits she wants to fill a high-end store with top designer clothing - just so she can be a part of the business. She tells fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar, "I'd only do it (start her own store) if Karl Lagerfeld was interested or Tom Ford. Or Alexander McQueen. Or Jean Paul Gaultier. Or Proenza Schouler." Lagerfeld obviously is interested in Lohan - he recently shot her for a spread in America's Interview magazine. And the actress recently offered to work at a Chanel store, selling Lagerfeld's clothing. But she admits there's just too much fashion out there that interests her to work with just one designer. She adds, " Yves Saint Laurent's collection is genius for fall. Balenciaga is amazing. And I love Rick Owens and Alessandro Dell'acqua and Giambattista Valli and Roland Mouret." Lohan accepts that opening a store would save her a lot of money: "I often style myself and my friends. I could go bankrupt from buying all these clothes. (If I open a store) I can sell my own clothes."
Lopez and Davis Shine at Crystal Awards
Jennifer Lopez and Geena Davis triumphed at the Women In Film Crystal Awards in Los Angeles on Tuesday night where they were honored for their strong portrayals of women. Lopez was also hailed for her charity work, while Davis picked up the prestigious Lucy Award, named after comedienne Lucille Ball. Lopez said, "I already have a love affair with diamonds - and now with crystal as well." Davis added, "This is really, really special for me. I've been to a lot of Women In Film events and luncheons and seen Meryl Streep and incredible people get an award, and it's incredibly thrilling to be included."
Spears Wedding Invite Sells on eBay

An official wedding invitation to Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's 2004 wedding has been sold on auction website eBay for $2,150. The invitation, which also comes with a candle from the reception and is embossed with the couple's initials, was purchased by internet gaming company Goldenpalace. The latest purchase will be added to the site's growing collection of bizarre Britney Spears memorabilia, which includes the star's home pregnancy test, a pacifier used by Spears and her younger sister Jamie Lynn, as well as a half-full bottle of water left in the hospital by the pop star after she gave birth to her son, Sean Preston. Darrick Guy, who represents 24/7 Auctions, the seller of the invitation, told website Tmz.com they obtained the invite from a female guest at the nuptials. According to Guy, the guest has "relations to the groom's family."
Lynn Recovering After Shoulder Surgery
Country music icon Loretta Lynn is recovering well after undergoing shoulder replacement surgery yesterday. The Van Lear Rose singer, 71, was forced to cancel nine concerts after breaking her shoulder in a fall at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, on Sunday. Lynn's representative William Smithson confirms the operation was a success and she is recovering at a Nashville, Tennessee, hospital. The nine US concerts were scheduled over the next two months. In February 2005, Lynn pulled out of shows in Texas and Oklahoma after suffering a back injury. It is not known when she will be able to reschedule the cancelled gigs.
Beyonce Breaks Vacation To Record Dream Album
Beyonce Knowles gave up a much-needed vacation to record her new solo album after she dreamed up the songs for the project. The former Destiny's Child star was just three days into a month-long break when the album tracks came to her in her sleep. She called her favorite producers into the studio and recorded the whole thing in a matter of days. The album, B'Day, will be rush released in time for Beyonce's birthday on September 4. She says, "I started to have all these ideas for a solo record, and so, without telling anyone - my manager, my record label - I called up Sean Garrett, Rich Harrison and Rodney Jerkins. I set up three studios... and banged out 20 songs. Just like that, in a matter of days."
Alba Replaces Lohan
Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba has snatched up Lindsay Lohan's role in the new movie Bill, after the teen actress abruptly quit the film because the first-time directors weren't well known enough. The movie, which also stars Aaron Eckhart and Amanda Peet, began production yesterday. Lohan, 19, pulled out of the film on Tuesday, claiming she only wanted to work with big-name directors. Alba recently worked with the producers of Bill on the movie Awake. Lohan is already working on her next project, Georgia Rule, starring Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman.

The actor, who played flamboyant J Peterman in the hit sitcom and then triumphed in the first season of US show Dancing With The Stars, has announced his wife Lisa is pregnant. No details of when the baby is due have been announced. The couple married in 2004.
