Jolie and Pitt Deny Wedding Rumors

Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie denied rumors they plan to marry following the birth of their daughter Shiloh Nouvel last month, but insisted they are committed to bringing up their three children together. The Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-stars started dating last year after Pitt split from his wife Jennifer Aniston. Pitt formally adopted Jolie's adopted children Maddox and Zahara Marley in December. At a press conference yesterday in Swakopmund, Namibia - where the actress gave birth to Shiloh Nouvel - Jolie said, "There is nothing in the air. The focus is the kids, and we are obviously extremely committed to the children and as parents together. So that kind of says it for us, and to have a ceremony on top of it is nothing." Turning to Namibian nationals at the conference, Pitt said, "We have been able to have a very special, peaceful time for our family here, exploring your country and more importantly helping with the delivery of our daughter Shiloh. So for that we are eternally grateful." The couple said they plan to leave Namibia - where they have spent the past two months - in the coming days.
Jackman Replaces Crowe

Actor Hugh Jackman has stolen fellow Australian Russell Crowe's lead role in Baz Luhrmann's new film epic, after the Gladiator star was reportedly dumped by the director. The X-Men star wowed the Moulin Rouge filmmaker and will now play Nicole Kidman's lover, instead of Crowe, in a movie set around the Japanese bombing of Darwin, Australia, in 1942. Luhrmann tells Hollywood Reporter: "He just continues to astound in terms of his range, whether it's The Boy From Oz or Wolverine. He's always been a leading man, but he is moving toward being an iconic leading man, which is perfect for the story we're doing."
Spears' "Manny" Unmasked
Britney Spears has hired a former lacrosse coach to look after her eight-month-old son Sean Preston. The star fired her former nanny after Sean fell from his high chair and hit his head earlier this year. Spears has recruited 28-year-old Perry Taylor to help her with her son and some members of the US media have started referring to him as her "manny" (male nanny). Her new employee hasn't left her side for the past few weeks and has frequently been photographed helping the 24-year-old with her young son. Taylor is a former lacrosse player for the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. His mother Caroline tells website TMZ.com Taylor wanted to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan but "the women in his life talked him out of it." Instead, Taylor moved to California and began working for a security company and coaching lacrosse at Beverly Hills High School. A source close to Taylor clarified his position to American publication Us Weekly saying, "He's more Sean's bodyguard than a nanny." Taylor's mother confirms that her son is more suited to security duty rather than nappy changing: "He's just beginning to learn about babies."
Channing Clears Up DUI Coverage
The West Wing star Stockard Channing insists she was wrongly portrayed as a drunk in the media when she was charged with drunk driving in 2004. The former Grease star was stopped by California police driving on the hard shoulder of Los Angeles' Hollywood Freeway and pleaded not guilty to two counts of driving under the influence in an LA court last year. Channing says, "It was Christmas. I went out to dinner with a friend and we had a toast. I got into the car and there was an accident on the highway. I wound down the window and asked the officer what had happened and he smelt the red wine on my breath. I want to say for the record that I was 0.11 and the legal limit (in Los Angeles) is 0.08. They are very strict in LA and so they should be. But to my frustration it got turned into something larger than it was."
Black Challenges Action Man Seagal to Ring Rumble
Jack Black is so impressed with his own wrestling prowess after training for new movie Nacho Libre he's keen to try out his fighting skills on martial arts action man Steven Seagal. The movie funnyman trained with a real-life Mexican wrestler to play the Spandex-clad hero of the new film - and how he fancies his chances against Seagal. Black tells American magazine Sports Illustrated, "I should take down someone who is strong, so Steven Seagal (would be perfect) - with his ridiculous Indian gear, ponytail and swagger. He's the best fighter in the world in his own mind, so I'll take him down two notches with my Anaconda Squeeze and Face Melter." Black also quips he has developed his own unsavory wrestling move: "The Wind of A Lion is basically a submission hold. You get the guy down, you sit on his face and then you release the lion's wind. That usually spells complete defeat."
De Niro Donates Film Memorabilia to Students

Generous actor Robert De Niro has donated his collection of movie memorabilia to film students at a US university. The Academy Award winner presented more than 3,000 of his own costume items and props to the University Of Texas' Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center. The gift also included scripts, photographs from his acclaimed films Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter and Taxi Driver, as well as a full monster body cast used in the 1994 production of Frankenstein. In a statement De Niro said, "One of the most important things about the Harry Ransom Center is that the material will be accessible to students and the public. Ultimately, that's what it's all about." Steve Wilson, associate curator of the center's film collection, added, "The collection will give students, film buffs and scholars a behind-the-scenes look at the career of one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation. I know of no other actor's archive that is as large and comprehensive as this one."
Water Pistol Attack Left Ledger in Tears
Heath Ledger burst into tears after paparazzi attacked him with water pistols at the Australian premiere of Brokeback Mountain in Sydney earlier this year, according to his father. The actor's relationship with the Australian press soured during filming for new movie Candy, and the paparazzi decided to have the last word at the January premiere of his Oscar-nominated film. Ledger's father Kim tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper his heart was broken when his son called just hours after the run-in, saying he wanted to sell his waterfront home in Sydney and move to the US permanently. He says, "Heath had to go into the cinema and introduce that film soaking wet. He cried all night. He rang me and said, 'Dad, that's it - sell the house.'" Ledger's father urged his son to think it over for 48 hours before making a final decision. He says, "Two days later he rang me back and said, 'Dad, it's been 47 hours and 57 minutes - sell the house.'" The luxury property was sold for Aus $7 million ($5 million) in March after Ledger relocated to Brooklyn, New York City, with his partner Michelle Williams and their daughter Matilda.
Lopez Fuels Pregnancy Reports on Shopping Trip
Jennifer Lopez has got Hollywood gossips in a fuss after she was overheard telling a pal her breasts are about to get bigger. The busybodies claim this can mean just one thing - after months of speculation, the singer/actress is pregnant with husband Marc Anthony's baby. Lopez made the breast confession while out shopping with actress pal Leah Remini last week, according to American publication In Touch. One shopper, who overheard happy Lopez chatting to Remini from a changing room in Los Angeles' Fred Segal store, says, "She asked Leah to bring her bigger sizes - and nothing tight," adding, "My boobs are going to get bigger." And to add to the speculation, after spending a reported $6,000 on clothes, Lopez and new mum Remini visited the store's children's department, where the super star bought a designer diaper bag. The latest gossip comes after Lopez mysteriously cancelled a planned summer tour. Insiders also claim she's planning to add a maternity line to her Sweetface clothing label.
Lewis To Direct 'Nutty Professor' Musical

Veteran comedian Jerry Lewis is directing a new musical based on this 1963 film The Nutty Professor. The 80-year-old will not perform in the show, but will produce and direct the play, which he plans to bring to Broadway, New York in 2008. The star directed, wrote and starred in the original Nutty Professor film and plans to stick closely to the script. He explains, "You can't reinvent the character. The dual role of Jekyll and Hyde made the film. If you're looking to make it different, you'll ruin it." Lewis has cast unknown actor Michael Andrews in the lead role, after seeing him perform at a private function.
