Magazine Threatens To Sue Bloggers Over Pitt-Jolie Photos

Attorneys acting for American publication People magazine have demanded websites immediately remove unauthorized photographs of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie with their new baby. The couple sold the North American rights for the prized first pictures of daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to the magazine for a reported $4.1 million. Britain's Hello! magazine has reportedly secured the international rights to the photos, which allegedly appeared on various gossip blogs yesterday. It is not clear whether the pictures that appeared briefly are authentic. The leaked photos feature Pitt and Jolie in a Hello! magazine spread gazing down adoringly at their new baby. Representatives for Time Inc, the publisher of People magazine, immediately sent out letters threatening legal action to various gossip blogs accusing them of copyright infringement. The document demands the websites must "expeditiously remove or disable access to the infringing photograph upon receiving this notice." The celebrity couple announced on Monday they were selling the photos through America's Getty photo agency and donating the profits to a charity benefiting African children.

Kidman To Wed in the Dark?

Actress Nicole Kidman will reportedly marry country singer Keith Urban in the dark, to avoid being snapped by the paparazzi. The couple, who will wed in Kidman's home city of Sydney, Australia this month, have even consulted a local helicopter firm for advice on how to deter snoopers. Sydney Helicopters boss David Gemmell says, "They were concerned about what access paparazzi could get." Peter Gibson, of Australia's civil aviation safety authority praises the idea: "Certainly, the cover of darkness would make it difficult if not impossible for the paparazzi to do anything from an airborne position. Miss Kidman is making a very smart move in the circumstances."

Lohan Slams Davis Dating Claims

Lindsay Lohan has hit out at US oil heiress Barbara Davis after she told pals the actress was dating her grandson Brandon Davis. The matriarch insists Lohan and Davis - whose ex-girlfriends include Mischa Barton - are an item, despite Brandon having been caught on video mocking the actress' lifestyle and personal hygiene recently. Barbara - the widow of oil tycoon Marvin Davis - told guests at Kenny G's birthday party in California at the weekend, "Brandon is dating Lindsay now!" A spokesperson later confirmed the story to PageSix.com. But Lohan is furious. He publicist Leslie Sloane tells the website, "It is unfortunate that Barbara Davis is desperate enough to make up a lie about Lindsay dating her grandson. Lindsay took the high road and accepted Brandon's apology last week, but they are not dating and they did not go to dinner together. Lindsay is dating several men who live overseas."

Clooney and Pitt Close Down Hotel Complex

George Clooney and Brad Pitt's Las Vegas, Nevada dream is over - their ambitious Las Ramblas hotel complex is dead. Ten months after its much-publicized launch and following multiple rumors about its demise, the Las Ramblas sales office has been closed and the 25-acre plot of land the hotels, casinos and play areas were to stand on has been sold to the developers of the neighboring W Hotel, Casino & Residences for a whopping $202 million. The news has been confirmed by Dan Klores Communications, the New York-based publicity firm representing Las Ramblas. A spokesman says, "We are no longer dealing with that account as I understand the Las Ramblas project is no longer going ahead." Vegas insiders claim rising construction costs are behind the decision to shut down the Las Ramblas venture - a project backed financially by Clooney and Cindy Crawford's restaurateur husband Rande Gerber, and supported by new dad Pitt. Pitt and Clooney were signed onto a boutique project rumored to involve Gerber and Station Casinos on the plot of land currently housing the Wild, Wild West Casino. When the project details were unveiled in 2004, they included 4,400 rooms and 11 high-rise towers. Sin City property watchers now believe Clooney and Gerber will collaborate on a smaller Las Vegas hotel and casino property designed, in part, by architecture fan Pitt.

Third Daughter for Harrelson

Actor Woody Harrelson and wife Laura Louie are celebrating the birth of their third daughter this weekend. The couple, who married eight years ago, are already parents to Denni Montana, 13, and Zoe Giordano, 9, and insist they're delighted to welcome another girl into the family. In a joint statement they say, "In this crazy patriarchal world we live in, we are doing our part to balance the energy. We are proud to announce the completion of our goddess trilogy with the birth of our third daughter, Makani Ravello, born on June 3rd." The family live on the Hawaiian island of Maui.

Spears and Federline Are Still Together, According to Pals

Aspiring rapper Kevin Federline's pals have dismissed new tabloid reports suggesting his marriage to Britney Spears is almost over. Spears has reportedly called in divorce counselors and lawyers as she prepares to end her marriage, but Federline's friends insist the rumors are just that. One friend, who asked not to be named, tells TMZ.com, "Everything you read in the tabloids about their relationship is fabricated. They're still together." New reports in American magazine Us Weekly suggest the fact that the celebrity couple haven't been pictured together since March speaks volumes about the state of their relationship. The publication's editors claim the pair were last photographed together at Federline's birthday party in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 25.

Grant and Khan Sue Newspaper

Hugh Grant and his girlfriend Jemima Khan are filing a libel suit against a British newspaper over allegations published about their relationship this weekend. The Notting Hill star is fuming over an article in the Daily Mail titled 'I never knew he was such a good actor' which he claims is "false and defamatory." The pair have instructed their London lawyers to press ahead with legal proceedings, insisting the newspaper's sources are made-up. Solicitors Schillings warns other publications that since the story's allegation "constitutes the entire, specious, basis for the remainder of the article, it follows that the numerous allegations including supposed quotes from sources are false and indeed fabricated." On Monday the Daily Mail claimed Grant and Khan have been secretly engaged for six months. The story has yet to be confirmed.

Anthony Celebrates Lopez in Ad

Singer Marc Anthony took out a full-page ad in American entertainment trade newspaper Variety yesterday, proclaiming his love for wife Jennifer Lopez and congratulating her on receiving a Women In Film Award. The ad featured a mock page from a screenplay in which he referred to the singer/actress by her nickname Lola. The screenplay describes Lopez receiving her award and being directed to "Cut to: Marc Anthony, her proud husband, sitting in the audience aware of how lucky he is to be with the love of his life and sharing in this moment." The ad ends with Anthony saying, "Here's to never waking up baby, you deserve it. I love you." Billy Preston Dead at 59

Legendary keyboard player Billy Preston has died after a lengthy battle with kidney problems. He was 59. Preston, who performed with both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, has been in a coma in a care facility since late last year and was taken to hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday when his condition turned critical. He passed away yesterday. The rocker had battled chronic kidney failure and underwent a transplant in 2002, but the organ failed and he has been on dialysis treatments ever since, according to his longtime manager Joyce Moore. In a statement, Moore insists Preston's death was peaceful and painless: "He had a really beautiful passing." Preston was a child prodigy on the organ and piano and began his career at the tender age of 10, playing keyboards for gospel great Mahalia Jackson in the mid-1950s. Just a few years later he was touring with another piano great, Little Richard, before becoming a renowned session organist and pianist, appearing on classic albums, like the Beatles' Let It Be. He also enjoyed his own hits with tunes like "Outta Space," "Nothing From Nothing" and "With You I'm Born Again" - a duet with Syreeta Wright. He won a Grammy Award in 1973 for "Outta Space."
