Carell Injured on Set

The Office star Steve Carell is suffering a badly sprained ankle after falling out of a Hummer on the set of his new film. The US funnyman was shooting the sequel to the Jim Carrey-Morgan Freeman-starring 2003 hit Bruce Almighty in Richmond, Virginia when he took a tumble. Filming is not expected to be delayed on Evan Almighty, which sees The 40 Year Old Virgin star Carell divinely inspired to build an ark. Universal Pictures spokesperson Carol McConnaughey insists the actor "is doing fine." Carell recently won a Golden Globe for his role in the American version of The Office, and co-stars in Evan Almighty alongside another TV actor, Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham.

Hilton and Lohan in Bar Brawl

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton and actress Lindsay Lohan shocked patrons at Hollywood hotspot Hyde on Friday night by engaging in a furious row. The socialite and her sister Nicky, faced-off against the Mean Girls star, who they claim interrupted their evening out with friends. Hilton's representative Elliot Mintz explains, "Paris was having a conversation with a couple of friends. Lindsay approached her table and at that moment Paris felt she was being interrupted and didn't wish to speak to Lindsay. A couple of words were exchanged and Lindsay went back to her table. I can understand how other patrons in the club could have thought it had been a bigger deal than it actually was." Sources tell website Tmz.com that the source of the tension may be because Lindsay has recently been on a publicity campaign for her new film Just My Luck and reportedly mentioned Hilton's name in interviews with the media. The source claims Hilton doesn't want Lohan using her name to help further her career.

Longoria Tops Hot List

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has scored the top spot in Maxim magazine's annual Hot 100 list for the second year in a row. The list names the most successful women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion who have "a tremendous amount of buzz surrounding them, undeniable beauty and a promise of greater things to come." This is the first time Maxim has bestowed the number one honor back-to-back. Longoria says, "I was actually really shocked last year when I made the list and then to get it a second time in a row - I just couldn't believe it." Jessica Alba claimed the number two spot, followed by Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, Stacy Keibler, Scarlett Johansson, Cameron Diaz, Kate Bosworth, Keira Knightley and Christina Milian. The list also includes Longoria's Desperate Housewives co-stars Nicollette Sheridan, at number 48, and Teri Hatcher, at number 73. Longoria adds, "I would have voted all of our Housewives on the list." The actress claims boyfriend Tony Parker is thrilled saying, "He's very proud. He thinks he's with a beautiful girl every day, so for him, it's you know, someone else solidifying what he already thinks."

Spears Quits Kabbalah

Singer Britney Spears has given up on her Kabbalah studies, insisting she has found a new religion in her family. The star was introduced to the faith often described as "Jewish mysticism" in 2003 by Madonna. Spears, who has not posted a message on her website in over a year, left the brief note, "I no longer study Kaballah (sic), my baby is my religion" on May 12. The message appeared in the "Love B" section of her site devoted to the singer's "stream of consciousness" thoughts. The singer didn't clarify whether she was referring to her 8-month old son, Sean Preston, the baby she is currently pregnant with, or even husband Kevin Federline. Less than two weeks ago Spears was spotted carrying a Kabbalah book while visiting Mexican fast food restaurant Taco Bell.

DMX Arrested

Rapper DMX was arrested and cautioned at London's Heathrow airport on Saturday after an alleged air-rage incident on his flight to the UK. The hip-hop star - born Earl Simmons - reportedly threw a tantrum when cabin crew urged him to fasten his seatbelt when the plane was about to land. The 35-year-old rapper refused to button the belt, and the captain called police as he continued to yell at staff. He was arrested shortly after landing. A Scotland Yard official released the following statement, "Heathrow Police were called at 12:05pm on Saturday to reports of a passenger causing a disturbance on an inbound aircraft. The plane landed at approximately 12:15pm and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being verbally abusive to cabin crew." DMX is no stranger to the police - in 2004 he was arrested at New York's JFK Airport after a road-rage incident over a parking space. The rap star then violated probation terms, when he was cited for speeding in upstate New York. He also hit a car, which in turn struck a police vehicle in the Bronx, New York City.

Blaine Announces Next Stunt

American illusionist David Blaine, who failed to break the world record for holding his breath underwater last week, has announced his next stunt will be living among wild animals in the jungle. The 33-year-old was released from a New York City hospital last week, after spending seven days in a spherical aquarium. Blaine needed medical treatment after suffering convulsions and passing out while attempting to hold his breath for nine minutes. But the magician has already moved on to planning his next stunt, claiming the challenge is more unbelievable than anything he has attempted before. He tells the New York Post, "I'm planning to live harmoniously among wild beasts. And I'd like to do it alone in the jungle."

Ratner: "I'm a Film-Maker First, Party Animal Second"

Brett Ratner is frustrated by his image as a party animal, and fears he won't be taken seriously as a film-maker because of it. The Rush Hour director makes more headlines because of his A-list pals and rumored romances than the movies he makes. But Ratner - who has been linked with Serena Williams and Lindsay Lohan, and counts Sean 'Diddy' Combs and among his pals - insists work comes first and he only parties to wind down afterwards. He says, "I'm a serious film-maker and the people I work with know that so whatever is in the tabloids you can't take that seriously. I think, eat, sleep and dream film so that's what my focus is. That's the real me. I love women and I appreciate women but my focus is my work. You got to celebrate. That's the way to blow off steam. It's a hard grueling process and you want people to know that you really appreciate their hard work so I like to throw a few little soiree."

Keaton's "Natural Beauty" Wins L'Oreal Contract

Sixty-year-old actress Diane Keaton has been lauded for her enduring good looks after securing a contract with make-up giant L'Oreal. The Something's Gotta Give star joins a glittering list of celebrity spokesmodels including Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz after signing to front the L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect range. The contract will see Keaton endorse face cream and make-up in print and television advertisements from this summer. Carol J. Hamilton, president of the L'Oreal Paris division of L'Oreal USA Inc, insists the actress is perfect for the campaign, saying, "She's a natural beauty. Nothing artificial. And she's comfortable with who she is."

Foster Quotes Eminem in Graduation Speech

Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster spoke at the University of Pennsylvania's commencement ceremony on Monday, ending her address with a surprise quote from rapper Eminem's hit Lose Yourself - the end chorus. The actress, who graduated from Ivy League rival Yale University in 1985, received an honorary doctor of arts degree. The Silence Of The Lambs star earned laughs from the graduates by taking pictures of them from the podium and recalled her own college days at Yale. The speech struck a serious note when Foster said the US and the world are worse off than they were four years ago and challenged graduates to become active in turning things around. Aimee Masters, who received a bachelor's degree in sociology and women's studies during the ceremony, said Foster was "really inspiring." She says, "Everyone around me was really happy with what she said." Masters added that the Eminem quote "was surprising, but I liked it."

Freeman Awarded Honorary Degree

Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman received an honorary degree from Mississippi's Delta State University on Saturday. The Million Dollar Baby star collected his Doctor of Arts and Letters diploma in front of a capacity audience at the education establishment's Walter Sillers Coliseum. He said in his acceptance speech, "I had two pages of remarks written, but for the sake of being shorter, I will simply express my appreciation, my gratitude and say, 'Thank you.'"
