Hilton Confuses Video Game Name

Socialite Paris Hilton shocked fans at the launch of her new videogame when she referred to the product by the wrong name. Jewel Jam, which can be played on a cellphone, is made by videogame maker Gameloft - who are set to create an entire series of Paris Hilton games. But the company was left red-faced last night when their celebrity endorser appeared totally clueless at the Los Angeles Convention Center for the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Hilton, who arrived late, said, "I'm really excited to have my new video game, Diamondquest. Thank you all for coming, and you can download the game."

Baldwin Wins Three Days with Daughter

Alec Baldwin has been granted an extra three visiting days with his daughter, after accusing ex-wife Kim Basinger of obstructing his visits. The Pearl Harbor star, who spoke to Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Maren Nelson via telephone from his New York home, continues to fight for an enforcement of a court order granting him "make-up time" for visitation days he has lost while starring in theatre hit Entertaining Mr. Sloane and while his daughter was ill. The show, which closes later this month , has left Baldwin hardly any time to spend with 10-year-old Ireland, and now the actor is desperate to compensate. But Basinger, who split from Baldwin in 2000 has been accused of structuring her diary to obstruct his visits. Baldwin's lawyer Vicki Greene says, "She fights him tooth and nail in every single thing because she wants him to not have the time. She's not only not being reasonable, she's not even being nice about it." Under the terms of their divorce, Baldwin and Basinger are required to make up any missed visits within 60 days.

Simpson Refuses To Discuss Nose Job

Ashlee Simpson remains coy about reports she has undergone a nose job, despite her representative confirming reports earlier this week. The "Pieces Of Me" singer, 21, had a rhinoplasty operation on April 21 in a Los Angeles clinic, after returning from Sydney, Australia, where she hosted the MTV Australian Video Music Awards. But Simpson refuses to discuss the surgery in public, insisting the topic has been covered enough by the media in recent weeks. She says, "Everybody's already saying it, so I just don't talk about it. I'm like, OK, whatever. It doesn't bother me."

'Da Vinci Code' Sparks Indian Riots

Controversial new movie adaptation The Da Vinci Code has prompted religious protests in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay). Hundreds of Catholic stalwarts yesterday gathered outside a convent school in the city in a bid to stop the film's release next week , blasting it as an attack on their faith. Members of the Catholic Secular Forum (CSF) have taken offence to the movie's depiction of Catholic group Opus Dei as corrupt, out-dated and at the centre of a cover-up of the truth about Jesus Christ. Csf general secretary Joseph Dias says, "Activists will go on a fast unto death if the government fails to take action against anti-Christian movies. You can't make fiction on a religious figure. Tempers are already running quite high and there's no way of saying what could happen if the movie is released." In a statement, the group added: "The Da Vinci Code is offensive as it hit certain basic foundations of the religion." The protest is the second in a week by the CSF after Tuesday saw approximately one hundred demonstrators take to the streets outside a Mumbai church and burn copies of the Dan Brown novel.

Richards Discharged From Hospital

The Rolling Stones star Keith Richards has been discharged from the hospital in New Zealand, after undergoing brain surgery on Monday. The 62-year-old rocker was rushed to The Ascot Hospital in Auckland after pressure started building on his brain following a fall in Fiji last month. Richards, who will return to the hospital for regular check-ups, thanked "the doctors" and "the beautiful ladies who make painful nights less painful and shorter" in a statement, adding, "I hope I wasn't too much of a pain in the a**e - after all, it was my head that was fixed."

Richie Denies Sex Tape Screening

Nicole Richie has furiously denied she fell out with Paris Hilton after reportedly screening her former pal's infamous sex tape at a Los Angeles party. Richie, who was best friends with the hotel heiress until their bitter feud began in January 2005, is alleged to have upset Hilton when she arrived at a party to find her pals laughing at 1 Night In Paris, the raunchy film made by ex-lover Rick Salomon. But she insists nothing would tempt her to watch the x-rated film, and confesses the whole affair disgusted her. She tells Vanity Fair, "A, I don't watch porn, and B, I don't want to see someone I've known forever having sex. I mean, that's gross!"

Rodriguez Chose Jail Because of Hatred of Forced "Service"

Lost star Michelle Rodriguez chose a prison sentence over community service because she hates the idea of compulsory work. The actress, who plays Ana Lucia on the hit show, chose jail instead of 240 hours community service after being convicted of drink-driving in Hawaii last month. She spent 65 hours behind bars. But Rodriguez is adamant that doing time was far preferable to forced labor, despite admitting she has no qualms about doing good deeds. She says, "If I'm gonna do something for the community, I need to do that on my own accord. I don't like being told to do things for the community. I'd rather be in jail for a few days than be told what to do for a month."

Shields: "I'm So Happy"

Brooke Shields is embracing motherhood following the birth of her second child last month, and shunning the anti-depressants which helped her after the birth of her first baby. The Blue Lagoon actress battled postpartum depression after giving birth to daughter Rowan in May 2003, but insists she had no need of prescription drugs after new baby Grier Hammond was born. She explains, "I was like, 'You know what? I think I'm okay now.'" And the 40-year-old, who is married to writer Chris Henchy, feels a sense of completion following the latest edition to her family. "Now it just really feels like a full-on family. I'd be lucky to just have the one, but with two, I realize they'll have each other after we're not here anymore, and to me, that really settles my mind."

Fans "Boycott" Cruise

Blockbuster Mission: Impossible III has failed to meet its box office expectations, because actor Tom Cruise's popularity has taken a sharp nosedive - according to a new survey. And a poll conducted by USA Today shows that 51 percent of fans have deliberately turned their backs on The Last Samurai star Cruise's latest movie as a result of his antics, comments and continual public displays of affection with fiancee Katie Holmes. Journalist Dave Karger says, "A lot of people came up to me and said, 'I don't want to support this movie's first weekend.' They made a conscious choice to avoid it."

Snoop Dogg Cautioned

Rapper Snoop Dogg has been cautioned following his arrest for affray and violent disorder at London's Heathrow Airport. The hitmaker - real name Calvin Broadus - returned to Britain on Tuesday where he was handed a caution under Section 4 of the Public Order Act for threatening words or behavior. Broadus was arrested with five members of his entourage on April 26 following a brawl at the airport. According to reports, Snoop's entourage reacted angrily when they were turned away from the First Class lounge, where they were hoping to wait before boarding a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. British Airways has reportedly banned him "for the foreseeable future."

Keys To Copy Sinatra and Streisand

R&B star Alicia Keys has hailed Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand as her ultimate idols for the way they juggled their music with acting. The hitmaker makes her big screen debut in Smokin' Aces alongside Hollywood heavyweight Ben Affleck and is currently filming The Nanny Diaries with Scarlett Johansson. But she confesses her greatest dream is to combine her silver screen roles with sassy soundtracks, although she admits it will take time to master. Keys tells MTV, "I think later on I'll try getting into acting as well as doing the entire soundtrack. But right now I want to focus directly on the acting. You never know."

Aguilera Announces Comeback Album

Newlywed singer Christina Aguilera has thrilled fans by promising her first album in four years will be in stores this August. The "Genie In A Bottle" hitmaker, who married Jordan Bratman in November, has returned to the studio and is working on a retro-jazz disc to be named Back To Basics. The first single from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s jazz and blues homage will be available as early as next month. Aguilera's 2002 album Stripped sold over 3.9 million copies in the US alone.
